I vote Nilda Adrienne’s Mom should have her own channel. She comes across as such a sweet, humble down to earth woman who leads without a title. Nilda rice and white beans was also my favorite growing up. My Titi use to buy the fresh white beans from the Marqueta and cook it with fresh ham it was absolutely delicious 😋 . I am 73 years old and I believe one of the reasons food taste and smell so good while we were growing up was because of the organic way it was grown. Everything was fresh and not GMO modified. I truly missed the good old times when my Mom and Aunts got together and cooked. You don’t know what you have until it’s gone 😢. PS Nilda, please come back and show us how to make Eggplant Parmigiana.

She learned once she was in the states & she had me…but I’m the one who cooks all the Latin dishes in the house & make the sofrito for the house (& make the most bomb seco de pollo that she can’t match) 😂 but she uses tumeric for almost everything! She drinks it too bc she’s a health freak LOL love you guys!

15:30 You and your mom should do a cookbook together, that be so great, especially so the next generation will have the recipes and won't have to figure them out like how your mom has been trying to make the white rice with white beans but doesn't know the recipe so it doesn't come out the same. So making a cookbook with your mom is a great idea so you and the next generation will have the recipes written down and not have to guess how your mom made your favorite foods once she's gone.

She should add patitas de cerdo in the beans (you don't have to eat the patitas 🙂). She can sauté it with all the wonderful flavorings (sofrito, onions, garlic, etc.) before adding the beans and then have it cook with the beans. it gives it a distinct flavor which might be the missing piece! Also; If she doesn't already, use fresh beans instead of canned beans.

I make my own no turmeric. I was taught to make sofrito with the following ingredients cilantro, culantro, parsley, basil, oregano, sweet peppers, peppers, onions and garlic. I Love you guys your content is amazing ❤
