Oh that turquoise batt!!!!! Talk about "fixing" a mistake. It is stunning. Love your channel, and sorry to hear about the house stress. When stress hits, pull out the dyes!
Oh please don’t change a thing love your videos. The ones who insult you are just jealous and not happy with themselves and are trying to bring you down to their level.
I never really thought about it that way! It seems like it's just the price of putting "my way" of doing things out there. Just like real life, someone always knows better!
I love your vulnerability and showing when you make a “mistake.” (I think it’s gorgeous!😘) I think it helps others to come up with the courage to experiment and try something different. I’m new at this whole fiber fun experience, and this video was very encouraging to me. Thank you.
You are amazing. I truly love watching your techniques with wool I learned to dye, spin, and weave in college in the 70’s . So I am old enough to be your grandmother but you are showing me lots of new techniques love it
I appreciate your shows so much. I love your projects and I love how you show your human side too. We all make mistakes. I learn so much from mine. Your dye jobs turned out beautiful. I'm sorry to hear about the flooding. Who needs more stress right now? Take care!
Aw, thank you! The flooding was a bummer, but at the same time, John was home due to the lockdown, so that helped a lot. I have a whole month more with no work, so I have time to fix the damage. Plus, it's keeping us from getting bored hahahahaha.
I absolutely love that you always keep it real. I feel like if we lived near each other we'd be great friends because I have the same attitude. Life's too short to care about the haters.
You are so sweet Trish, and your little buddy😍 I admire your attitude re. Criticism because I am so thinned skin, ugh. That must be on IG though, I’m not on IG, it’s so overwhelming for me. I love your videos because of exactly who you are so poop on critiques! I’m so sorry about the flooding, we had that happen in two houses! We lived in our bedroom for 3 months because the entire ground floor had to be rebuilt. Your wools are beautiful- the pink one is so rich and beautiful, it’s my fave😊 I watched you while warping my little loom, thank you for the great company and for all that you share, I love to see people who do things “their way” because that’s what I do too.❤️to you and your LBD...
That's so nice, thank you! Honestly we got very lucky with the flooding. I hated the flooring in that room, so now we are forced to replace it and I have a whole month more with no job so I have time to get it done and make it nice. I appreciate the encouragement. I do have some unorthodox ways of doing things, but I have tried almost all the other methods. I guess I'm just odd, but who isn't?
It's wonderful you being who you are. NEVER CHANGE, YOU ARE LOVELY AND INSPIRING , SHARING MISTAKES SO PEOPLE CAN LEARN FROM IT IS A WONDERFUL THING TO DO. I don't know what's wrong with people who criticize just for the sake of it.You don't see them on here helping people learn do you. You have a wonderful kind personality. Thankyou so much for your time and your video's...Lynda from New Zealand.
Trish I knew this video was here for days, but I saved watching until I shipped out all the requested masks for loved ones. You never disappoint from raspberry sorbet to a turquoise geode. They are gorgeous.
I heard that! I was actually glad when so many people started making masks, because I sewed my buns off. Thank you! I really enjoyed this batch, and I can finally start spinning them tomorrow!
I'm not a spinner, haven't ever tried dyeing fiber, but I find myself enjoying your videos so much! Keep up the good work, you are such a real person! Hopefully you got your house repaired without any surprises!
@@maryreid629 Good luck! If you are having trouble, just remember that sometimes your success JOURNEY includes steps that might not exactly look like success ❤️❤️
I just found you 🎉🎉I I so appreciate your openness with what you’re doing I have not spun any I just started Weaving and I found it all very fascinating especially the blend of the colors and then the outcome so I thank you for what you’re doing you’re awesome
Love the dye jobs. The colors were so nicely vivid. I have to admit that I was never much of a fan of green, but the bats that you up were really nice.
Really, really beautiful work, thank you so much for sharing it. I have to say when you were putting the blue/green/teal through the Carder, I was definitely feeling your excitement. ❤️😁👍🏻 The red was gorgeous as well, the multi color is the one I can’t wait to see because I still have difficulty being able to see beforehand what they’ll Spin up like. Again thank you so much.
I love your videos! I just started weaving 3 weeks ago, and at 70 yrs old, will probably not be dying and spinning. But, I even like watching those vids! Who knew how these things are done. Not me!
Oh, Trish! So sorry to hear of the flooding problems...DampRid is your friend! The falkland braid turned out beautifully and I can't wait to see how it spins up. But...OMG...those batts are droolishush! I actually think a bunch of add-in bling wouldn't contribute a lot to the red/pink, but that's just moi. Take care and stay well!
It's a long story, but it really wasn't that much of the house. Plus we are very lucky compared to so many people in our area. I didn't like the floor it ruined anyway, so now John can't even protest the floor I wanted all along. Plus, I have at least another month with no work, so I have plenty of time to fix it. No fun money, but lots of time! hahahahaha
It could have been a lot worse (the flooding). What is there to be afraid of? Sheep are growing more fuzz RIGHT NOW, plus you can always fix it like I did. I just filmed a screw up and put it on RUclips. Try it anyway!
Bummer about the negative comments and the flooding! Boo! Thanks for sharing you dyeing and batt making. I really need to get back to dyeing. Just need to figure out how I want to do it in this new house. I say new but we have been here for 3 years. lol Any who thanks for another great video!
We're almost four years in this house, and I still call it the new house, so I get that. I hope you can find a way to make it work. Come to the dark side!
Oh Trish.... those colors!!! (heart eyes big time) You just inspired me to get back to carding again... but I must finish combing fleece so I have nicely prepped fiber to begin with. Hugs, Lady!
I get that. I cannot wait to spin those batts, but I also have a fleece i'm flicking, a Jacob fleece I'm carding and a spinning project going. Not enough time to do all the things at once! Hugs back!
I absolutely love your video’s. I have been power watching them haha. I love how you are down to earth and explain the successes and mistakes. Keep on keeping on and thank you
It really could have been a lot worse. We did lose the floor in one room, but I didn't like it anyway, and I have a whole month with no job to get the new one down :S.
I definitely will. I've had another project on my wheel, and resolve that I won't touch another project tomorrow so I can get it done! Thank you for watching!
I was stuck just waiting for it to dry out, so why not? I feel like in some ways we were lucky. John was home because of the lockdown, and I don't know how I would have handled moving ll that furniture and stuff, and getting sandbags and everything all alone, so we were kind of lucky. 💚
Hi there! I just stumbled onto your channel and you and your cute little puppy are delightful! Sorry about your flooding. We actually just had a similar situation where a neighbors toilet overflowed and a small waterfall opened up in our closet (also the closet where I keep my fiber and yarn 😱😱). Don’t worry, I got it all out in time. But man was I tired after that! Love the colors you chose for dyeing!
Welcome! Thank you so much! I was also very focused on my fleece closet. It's the only fiber I have on that level of the house, but it's a LOT TO MOVE! I ran up and down stairs like 40 times hahahaha. Glad you are here!
Your batts are stunning! That blue-green one is gorgeous on video; I can only imagine how it looks in person. I have yarns I’ve photographed that didn’t even come close to capturing their depth and beauty. And I believe it was polwarth in the box that came with the aqua dye. I remember watching your unboxing video for that month and was envious you got aqua because I got lavender (still lovely, but it’s not aqua). XD Thanks for sharing, and I’m sorry to hear about your basement.
I know exactly what you mean. I have seen some classes on how to photograph yarns and projects. Maybe I should take one, because I feel that way often, and it seems like certain colors are harder than others. I think you are probably right. I just knew it was a super squish breed, but Polwarth and Targhee both are hahaha. 😍
Actually I meant to post this on your video with hubby’s arms. I think youtube musthave tracked to the next video by the time i got down to the comments
Youve inspired me so much, thankyou! And big smooches to cute doggo from Dexter and Annie 😍 (I'm Kat 😂😬) have only dyed yarn post spin so far but I'm very tempted to brave some fibre soon.
I love your channel so much and live vicariously through you, lol. I may not be able to do all the things you do but I love seeing the process. You make so many beautiful things. I am down in the dumps and went looking for a vlog of yours to watch and saw it said carding in the title. I was looking into buying a carder but don’t think i have the health for it so will probably have to buy batts(?). Well then I see you mention rude comments. Oh boy. It’s actually why I’m struggling. I have been struggling a lot lately because of so many things i cannot do and have had to let go of and my emotions are raw because of it and one rude comment just sent me over the edge. People need to just go to a different channel if they don’t like my content and leave me be. However i have a lot of amazing friends on RUclips and they all have shown me so much support and love. I am blessed. Their loving and supportive comments help me so much through a lot of suffering. I love it that you have many people coming to your defense as well. 🥰
I have so many thoughts on this topic! Just last week, somebody was really nasty to me about my channel. Here's the thing, it is really easy for people who don't have the guts and have never done the work RUclips requires to be critical. You are doing something. That is infinitely better than tearing down someone else's hard work. Also, every big RUclipsr has critics, so maybe it's a mark of big progress for you! Last, maybe they are just an ugly hearted person that enjoys hurting others. You can only pour out what's inside. You can't pour out encouragement and love if you are full of judgment and ugliness, so it's a hard life to be a mean person. They can only give what they have, but don't let that take anything away from you. ❤❤keep going.
Fiber Love Diary I cannot even imagine what the found fault in? I love your sing song voice in the beginning and your out takes and your silliness (when your husbands hands were your arms), your amazing talent in all things fiber, your vast knowledge base of all things fiber and no fear of trying new ways if dyeing fiber. I feel sad for people who are so critical and mean. It broke me. I did a vlog letting people know how really sick i am and to please unsubscribe to my channel if they dont like my content because I am so very sick and I am unable to do a take two. I get one chance to do a vlog and thats it. So i laugh off things i forget or add the words in later when i edit.
I saw that you are still using the plastic wrap instead of getting the lids for the pan. I was thinking, however, a plus for the plastic wrap is that, you can kind of see what is happening in the pan.
Honestly, I think that's what is holding me up. I really do like to be able to see a little, but I hate using single use plastic, and I've been trying to stop as much as I can, so I guess it's time.
Would you be willing to do a basic dying for beginners video? Explaining exactly what you do at each step and why? I've watched many of your dying videos and you do bits and pieces, but I'd love a basic step by step explanation. For example, when did you add vinegar in this one? Was it in the cups or in the pan? Did you wash your fiber or just soak it with water and perhaps something else? You just have a casual, relaxed way of explaining things, so I'd rather get it from you than someone who will talk about PH, etc. Thanks
There is one coming in the next month! Beginner acid dyeing. It'll be available in the Facebook group for sure, but perhaps some other platforms as well.
It amazes that me the fibre family would feel the need to take a pop at each other, we seem like mainly mellow kind of people. There are ways and ways to disagree, folks, one can be educative without being mean, or just offer a different perspective without being down on someone sharing experience and advice to those who want to learn. I have learnt so much over the years from people sharing their skills, am very grateful and appreciate the time and effort they have put in to record and post. It is great that new teachers and sharers pop up all the time on RUclips, helps to broaden out the approaches to doing things, and just feels like fun to share a hobby/skill/craft with someone who is often in a totally different part of the world. Going to a fibre show feels like a gathering of "my" people, like a coming home. Began spinning again during lock down, having given it up about four or five years ago, and experiencing a whole new world of joy again as I spin, prepare fibre and also having started to weave too. Enjoyed your post, many thanks.
I think it's about perspective. Many people think it's competition since a lot of us are out on social media doing our thing, but it's really not. Thank you either way! I have gained perspective myself since I made that video, and now I see that stuff for what it really is.
'Addressing rude comments'....tell the damn cowards who hide behind their computers to actually get up off of their lazy duffers and create their own RUclips channels where they can post nothing but absolutely flawless and perfect content, ha ha ha, bet they don't!!!
Caught the replay and will make sure I get the right time next session. Have a great week everyone xxx
Oh that turquoise batt!!!!! Talk about "fixing" a mistake. It is stunning. Love your channel, and sorry to hear about the house stress. When stress hits, pull out the dyes!
It turned into a cute Kraken hat too. Everything is spun from that day even!
Oh please don’t change a thing love your videos. The ones who insult you are just jealous and not happy with themselves and are trying to bring you down to their level.

Please don't let the jerks who love to stir the pot get to you. Your videos are awesome and I love your work! ❤❤❤
I just watched this video and I learned so much from you. People who don't like how you do what you do should not watch.
The blue bad turned out great. I'm glad you were able fix it and that you told us what you did to fix it.
Everybody messes up, right? Including me, a lot. Years ago I might have thrown it out, but isn't it cool to think of it as an opportunity?
Love that you just hop right in with both feet! I could watch you card all day, it's mesmerizing.
I love watching people make batts too. It's almost like watching those acrylic pour videos. Thanks for watching!
You are who you are, you seem to be a lovely lady and your end results speak for themselves. Take care x

Well, you never know! Maybe someday you'll feel moved to try spinning or dyeing yarn or something. Then this will all come in handy!😂
You have inspired me to try spinning! I am waiting on a drop spindle and a little bit of fiber to give it a go...wish me luck!

Love the dye jobs. The colors were so nicely vivid. I have to admit that I was never much of a fan of green, but the bats that you up were really nice.

OMG! They turned out beautiful. I can’t wait to see them after you spin it. Trish I absolutely love your videos and I’m so happy I found your channel.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you're here too. The project I'm working on right now is getting resentment because I really want to spin some batts lol.
Hi Trish, I love your channel, your honesty, your modesty, and respect for every perception. Thanks for keeping it real. Hugsssss
Girl that stash! 😍The falkland braid turned out soooo pretty!
I love your videos! I just started weaving 3 weeks ago, and at 70 yrs old, will probably not be dying and spinning. But, I even like watching those vids! Who knew how these things are done. Not me!
Aw, thank you so much! You never know! You could be dyeing cool warps for your loom anytime, and now you'll know how!
You are still my hero💕💕 All three projects are stunning♦️♦️♦️
What? You are crazy. You are my hero with your sheep, alpacas, chickens, and puppies! See you soon!

Sorry to hear about the flooding! Didn’t realize it was that bad over there. Loved watching all your dyeing.
I think there was an article on mlive. They had to close the bridge between whitehall and montague because it was completely underwater. Thank you!
Sorry you had to deal with flooding..... You make dyeing look so easy!! I'm always afraid to screw up!
It could have been a lot worse (the flooding). What is there to be afraid of? Sheep are growing more fuzz RIGHT NOW, plus you can always fix it like I did. I just filmed a screw up and put it on RUclips. Try it anyway!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune of the flooding been there it sucks so much.
It really could have been a lot worse. We did lose the floor in one room, but I didn't like it anyway, and I have a whole month with no job to get the new one down :S.
So truly enjoy watching you! I used my diz on a fancy thick batt. It worked!! Thank you! ❤️
Those big batts are amazing!!! Love your colours.
What a fun dye day! They are all beautiful! You must show us the yarn when you spin these batts.XO
I definitely will. I've had another project on my wheel, and resolve that I won't touch another project tomorrow so I can get it done! Thank you for watching!
LOVE the Faukland braid!! I'm the same way when it comes to having extra stress in the house. I take out the dye pots and spin! Hang in there!!

What fun! Really enjoyed watching u dye wool and getting to go through your thought process. 🤩
I think I needed the mental break. Thank you! 😍
Just Wow ❤ l love your energy and passion ❤
The color ways are beautiful.
I love every one of your Batts that I've seen. I would love to buy a giant batt like that. It's gorgeous.
Next time I do a batt video (hopefully in the next few weeks) they will be going into my shop. That's the plan anyway!
Your batts are stunning! That blue-green one is gorgeous on video; I can only imagine how it looks in person. Well, it's only sheep hair, right? There are sheep everywhere making more right at this very moment 😉
I LOVE that blue! It makes me want a raspberry slushie!
I hope you got one!
That teal batt is to dye for🤣 I would have loved seeing you make it work.
I finished spinning it a few days ago, and it's going into a project for a video, so check back in the next few weeks to see how it went!
Trish, I love all of the wool you have died. I love, love, love the batts. Can’t wait for you to spin them.
I could hardly wait either! I had a video commitment, so I've been spinning for two solid days so I could finish and get to the battssssss! haha.
These turned out so beautifully!!!
Thank you! It was an awesome mental break for me at the moment!
Oh man this was too funny, I couldnt stop literally LOL. I love outlander. Love that stitch marker!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Love your podcasts! I think your fiber turned out beautiful!
Thank you so much. I was pretty happy with how it all turned out this time too. I can't wait to spin it.
What a great dye day. Thanks for the inspiration!
I think I needed it!
Quick question - what do you store your fiber in?
I want the green one!! 😍😍😍
There are actually two. That was a fun day!
Youve inspired me so much, thankyou! And big smooches to cute doggo from Dexter and Annie 😍 (I'm Kat 😂😬) have only dyed yarn post spin so far but I'm very tempted to brave some fibre soon.

You just have a casual, relaxed way of explaining things, so I'd rather get it from you than someone who will talk about PH, etc. Thanks
There is one coming in the next month! Beginner acid dyeing. It'll be available in the Facebook group for sure, but perhaps some other platforms as well.
Lmao, I’m glad I’m not the only one who dyes yarn at the most inappropriate times. 🤪😂
Maybe dyeing yarn soothes me? Maybe it's all just a coincidence. I don't ask these questions!
love your videos
Thank you so much!
so pretty!
Inspiring
What carder do you have?
Right now, I have a Strauch Finest electric and a Brother Xtra wide large motorized carder.

'Addressing rude comments'....tell the damn cowards who hide behind their computers to actually get up off of their lazy duffers and create their own RUclips channels where they can post nothing but absolutely flawless and perfect content, ha ha ha, bet they don't!!!
What do you call someone who crafts to avoid other things........
