- Hi, guys! Welcome back. You might have been wondering where I've been. It's been one month since my beloved dog, Beau, passed away. So, let's catch up and have a chat about grief and the lessons learned from loss.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the messages and DM's about Beau. It's been one the biggest gifts and I cherish every message.

I'm so sorry you lost your dog. It can be just as devastating as losing a person in your life, especially if it's unexpected. Thanks for sharing.

Oh I totally understand how you feel. March 26th was the 38th anniversary of our Old English Sheepdog Megan dying at age 7 of mammary cancer. It was fast and sudden. We knew something was wrong when she didn’t want to play frisbee because she would play 24/7, even getting my husband up in the middle of the night by hitting him over the head. Lol. We miss her every day.
Our second OES, Ashley, made it to 13. Pets are family members and when we lose them it breaks our hearts forever. I’m so sorry for your loss .
To the extreme, Megan rode with me in the front passenger seat of my old 1964 Porsche. When she suddenly died, I sold that car. It was our car together and I could no longer enjoy driving it. 😢
Oh Gretchen how hard. That’s just the worst. Megan and Ashley both sound so lovely. I know your pain. It’s life altering. They are our family for sure. So losing them is just as hard as losing a human. They are truly God’s gift to us. Sending you healing hugs. Thank you for sharing your story.
Had a good cry watching this remembering my beloved fur baby who passed away 4 years ago! It’s so important to grieve each loss in life as they come so we don’t have buried grief that piles up. IMHO.
Oh Lindy I’m sending you hugs. Our animal family members are so special. You’re absolutely right about not letting it pile up. But boy was that a tough ride. Glad you’re on the other side. Have you welcomed another pet into your life? If so, how long did you wait?
I'm truly sorry for your loss. Grief is a difficult process, and although I already went through serious grieving for my elders and some friends, I know the grief for a companion animal is huge and unique. They give so much love and companionship! After having been a dog person all my life, my children wanted a cat that I resisted as much as I could. Ended up having this cat for 17 years, and it became my baby even after our kids grew up and left. I was also recommended at the time he died to bring a new puppy or kitten into our lives. I am proud to have resisted, as it is important to give grief its time. Only time heals, and each one "pet" is irreplaceable. All the best to you in this process, a baby is a true blessing anytime, that would add meaning and change your life. 🧡

Bri, grief is so hard and sneaks up on us when we least expect it. Take care of yourself and give yourself grace. So nice to lean on your loved ones. And, I love the hoop earrings you’re wearing. :)
Man that’s so true, Summer. I’m learning how to get back to taking care of myself. It’s a challenge but it’s starting to feel more doable. Glad you like the earrings. They’re from Ross. 😀
I cried my eyes out watching this. We've had our dog for 8 yrs & he's our baby too. My dad passed in November. Sending healing thoughts
Hey Teddi! I hope it was a good cry. Wish I could be there to give you a hug. I’m so sorry about your dad. That’s just awful. I think about losing my parents all the time and it terrifies me. So go easy with yourself. I can imagine how much more it would take to heal from losing a parent. 💞
This couldn’t be more timely. My Buddy just died suddenly Thursday night, April 6th of heart failure. EVERYTHING you said resonated with me. I’m so sorry this has happened to you, but know there are people that know what you are going through. Thanks for helping me.
Oh my gosh, Michelle! I am so sorry for your loss. That is the worst feeling in the world and I know how heartbroken you must feel. Please cry as much as you need to and take all the time you need to grieve. It really helped for me to talk to him as if he were still here and to write him letters as well. It took me a solid month to start feeling like myself again. My prayers are with you.
Bri, I’m so sorry about your loss. We lost our dog Stella unexpectedly to what they believe was cancer as well, at the end of March. Beau seemed like the sweetest. I hope you and your husband are doing well and Im glad you have support through this time. ❤

Bri, I am so sorry for the loss of your precious fur baby. I don’t have children and my cats are definitely like children to me. I recently observed the 2 year anniversary of the death of a cat I had for 16 years. Muff got me through a couple of bouts of unemployment, at least one heartbreak and everything in between. There’s nothing like the bond between a pet and his/her human. Much love and peace to you and Mike.

Dear Brianna, I totally get your deep grief. It is the worst grief and all my thoughts are with you. We lost our last two dogs to cancer, Timmy at 3 years (leukemia) and Shaggy just shortly after his 10th birthday (melanoma). So I gt it totally and send heartfelt sympathy to you and Mike. It will take time to heal and take that time. It is important. And you know what, Beau wants you to give your love to another dog but when you're ready to do so. Go gently.🐾❤

I have learnt to appreciate every single day with my beloved Meow because life is really short and it can end when you least expect it but when I was younger I did not think about death. I am very sorry about your loss, he was a lovely boy but you will always be his mama. Love x

I'm so sorry Bri. I just can't stop crying. I can see myself in you because I fear the day the same happens to me. Benny is almost 9, and although we have two children, not children anymore in fact, we love him like he was an adopted human child. You are right about needing time to greave. Life has a way of sending us lessons and opportunities to learn. You're growing and Bo had tonnes of love in his life, from his loving parents.
Hi Catarina! I’m so glad that we could connect. Your dog sounds so sweet and I am glad that you get to love him while he’s with you. It’s good to know that I’m not crazy for feeling like he was my baby. I still miss him every day but the pain has subsided quite a lot. My husband and I are thinking we’ll get another dog in the next few months or so. My only advice is to take all the pictures and videos and do all the fun things with them now.

I’m so very sorry to hear about Beau. I know from my friends how devastating it is to loose a pet to illness. You still need to go through the grieving process like any other death. I still haven’t gotten a new cat since my cat died. Having an animal love you is one of the greatest compliments in life. The only thing more is when children love you (ones that aren’t yours. That’s just my opinion) We will still be here when you are ready to share more content so take all the time you need. Lots of love ❤️

I am so sorry to hear this. I have lost some of my very loved dogs and cats through the years. It is hard. All my beutiful animals has been my children. Thinking of you and your hubby ❤️❤️❤️

Yes dear, it is very hard to go trough. But as you said; the more you have loved, the more pain. And that is a comfort. Your beautiful dog has been so muched loved by you. He died happily. No, don’t have and pets now. I want to, but my hubby is not that keen. I give my love to the neighbour cats instead. And They give me love back ❤️
So good! Glad you’ve got some animal friends to love on. Our neighbors got a dog we’ve been doting on too.

HI Bri its nice to see you I've missed you but totally know how you must of felt .It took me two years after my Emma died ( she was eighteen so let a huge hole in my husband and my life)when we got a puppy (same breed ) so much fun ,we often call her Emma by mistake and we feel that just means we will always remember her .

March 8th we lost of beloved dog Dozer.....my son rescued him 13 years ago.
It has been very difficult , especially for me.

I hope you will consider adopting from a shelter, an adult dog rather than a puppy will show his true personality and adult dogs do need a second chance because puppies will always find a home. I used to do rescue and it's such a difficult job to get good homes, please do not go to a breeder or pet store. Thank you.
