Just upgraded to a 2023 Forte GT from a a 2008 Basic Nissan Versa. I don’t know if I’ll ever figure out all these features but thank goodness I’ve found your videos. So helpful and thank you so very much. I love my car so far
Thank you for this. I recently got an oil change and had my tires rotated. The cluster screen was set to tire pressure and I couldn't figure out how to change it to the MPH screen which is what I prefer. I subscribed to your channel and will make frequent viewings. You go and a great pace so I don't have to rewind.
I just purchased a 2023 GT-Line and I’m so impressed with all of the features, but it’s definitely a learning curve, coming from an older vehicle. I appreciate your videos. On the cluster screen you have showing through the beginning of the video, what is the straight line with 0 through 50, right below the Avg mileage? It automates and changes color when I’m driving but I can’t find anything on it in the owner’s manual.
Curious.. what car did you upgrade from? Glad that the videos are helping you out learn more about the new ride! If we're thinking of the same counter then it's a graphic display of the average accumulated info, so it would in line with the "Avg." counter. Check out page 139 of the 2023 Forte owner's manual - it doesn't explicitly outline what it is but if your Avg. is at 8.2 the counter underneath should be somewhere around the 10 mark!
@@CarsWithSteve Thank you for your response! I upgraded from a bare-bones 2011 Mazda 2. I have the premium package and sport package upgrades, so it’s like an IPhone compared to a rotary phone 😆
You're welcome! Wow yeah that's just a bit of an upgrade haha. Enjoy the Forte, if you treat it well it should be able to last you at least the same 10 years as your last one!
@@ShannonA739I just upgraded too from a 2008 Nissan Versa basic. I so feel you on the upgrade. Thankfully I found Steve’s videos. I also have a 23 year old son who just bought a 23 Camry so he’s been helpful too. I had a Mazda in 2008 brand new that was pretty basic but I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately had to upgrade to a bigger car due to having 3rd child. I always swore I’d get another but ended up getting the Forte. So far I’m not regretting it but it’s only been a few days lol. Hope your still enjoying your car
Steve, I have a 2023 Forte GT with the GT2 package. If I select the Digital Speedometer readout on the cluster, right below the digital number are red lines that pulsate with light as you drive which is quite annoying. I can't figure out how to turn off the pulsating light below the digit(s). Did I inadvertently activate something? Thanks for any help/
I think that's just a quirk of the digital speed. I haven't found a way to deactivate different lights when they pop on but next time I'm in a Forte I'll see if there's a workaround!
If that steering wheel icon is showing that means lane follow assist is active! As long as the vehicle recognizes lane markings it will keep you balanced in your lane. You can turn it off by press the steering wheel icon on the right pad of the steering wheel if you don't want it active
If it's the digital speed you can try pulling the battery. If the analogue one is stuck it could be a speed sensor, faulty speedometer or something electrical so you'd need to bring it in for service
Is there a way to keep the lane assist/auto steering on all the time? I had a 2021 Kia forte gt line and it was always on. I got a 2023 and I have to turn it on every time start the car.
If you have the smart trunk feature you'd be able to toggle it on/off in the media screen under Settings --> Vehicle Settings --> Door . I cover it off in this video --> ruclips.net/video/DMm4YfnajHI/видео.html The air conditioning light should turn off when you press the button.. or are you referring to the adaptive cruise? If that's the case, cruise would turn off when you press the cruise button on the top right side of the right pad
I just purchased a 2023 kia forte, basic model & for some reason when I turn the car off now it shows Drive Info on the cluster screen rather than the rear seat warning… even though the rear seat warning is checked in the settings.. how do I get it back to displaying the rear seat warning when i turn the car off rather than displaying the drive info? I’ve tried everything lol please help 😫
I just purchased a 2024 Kia Forte GT. I want to turn on cruise control but not use the adaptive steering wheel. I don’t want the wheel to correct me or keep me lane centered… I just want to set cruise. It’s soooo frustrating! I don’t know what to do! Please help!
The Forte doesn't let you switch from regular to adaptive cruise unfortunately but you can disable the lane follow assist. There's a button on the steering wheel which is a steering wheel in the middle of 2 lanes! That'll turn off the lane centering system
Which light is staying on? Any way for you to share a link to a video here or hop onto instagram @realcarswithsteve or Facebook @CarsWithSteve so I can see what you're talking about
@@CarsWithSteve yea I was almost pos it was there when I bought cat but there's only 4 icons and settings gear not there even tho all my manuals say it should be?
Thanks for the reply back. Yea I found what your talking about. Personally I liked the settings being under instrument cluster but it seems it's just under main touch screen now. Thanks for the help.
It's done through the media screen itself 1. Click on Setup --> General (two big gears) 2. 4th menu down should be Language Check this video out on the infotainment screen it'll be around the 32 min mark of the video: ruclips.net/video/DMm4YfnajHI/видео.html
I just upgraded to from a 2006 Kia Spectra! I am experiencing quite the learning curve, your videos are very helpful.
Wow what an upgrade! Glad the videos are helping. What mileage did your Spectra get up to?
I just bought 2023 forte Gt line, nice video
Thanks! First time owning a Kia?

That's exciting and you're welcome! What trim level did you end up going for?

Is there way we can reset the speedometer? My 2021 Kia forte speedometer is stuck at 100mph. Please help if you know. thank you

No way that I've found to keep it on permanently in the newer models
Hi from Australia the A/C light staying on how to turn off plzz
And also I'm in gt 2023 can't find smart tailgate does it have 1 ???

Does anyone know what the button with the box with an X through it is? It's a button on the driver door
It's so that the window switches on the other doors are turned on/off
Who else was sitting in their forte and thought the beeping at the beginning was your car 😂
HAHA thanks for the laugh
Thank you, I struggle to set up the digital meter…
You're welcome!
Where is your user settings icon on your lcd? I have a 2023 and my user settings icon disappeared about 1 month after I got it.
When you press the pages icon on the top left of the right pad on the steering wheel you should be able to flip between different screens
@@CarsWithSteve yea I was almost pos it was there when I bought cat but there's only 4 icons and settings gear not there even tho all my manuals say it should be?

You're welcome! It would be nice to be able to customize the screen a bit more.. but you'd need a fully digital one for that
Do you know if the miles to empty thing can be removed off that cluster ?
Nope.. that's one thing that's stuck in place
@@CarsWithSteve ah ok. Still a dope car.
@@jadmoneyman Yup and they last.. had a Forte that got past 250,000 km without any major issues
My cluster screen is in a different language. How do I change it back to English? Thanks!
It has to be done through the media screen.
Press the Setup button --> Choose General (the Gear Icon)
The 4th option down is for language selection
I wanted to know how to change themes
There really aren't any themes.. you can switch drive modes and it'll slightly change the color but that's about it...
How do I set information system to english?
It's done through the media screen itself
1. Click on Setup --> General (two big gears)
2. 4th menu down should be Language
Check this video out on the infotainment screen it'll be around the 32 min mark of the video:

2021 model doesn't have the star are the steering wheel. Its just an end call button
Thanks for pointing that out!
