Hello Dylan! I been fallowing you for a few months now and Im also a student at drone launch academy. Would you still recommend the inspire 2 today? Im starting to get into mapping, the easier stuff 1st and as I continue to learn, maybe I'll get into the enterprise drones. But for right now, would this be my best option?
This felt more like a justifying a $12k price for a drone-type of video, didn't talk about how well Mini can do photogrammetry, video quality seems pretty much the same looking on RUclips also.
Unfortunately RUclips crushes the video quality. You can definitely push the video harder in editing with the I2 than the Mini 2 but I’m not in the video production industry. Also the Mini 2 is not supported as a mapping drone nor does it have the reliability that the I2 has in terms of instruments on board. I still love both of these drones for what they are capable of! @@DylanGorman while you can do photogrametry with a mini 2, the weak point is that it can't automate the capture of images as there is no way point system. The mini 2 should soon be getting support with Litchi and will be able to do way point missions easier. Drone deploy will then accept the images taken on that mission. You can get by with meticulously manually shooting photos, but it is definitely much more difficult to get proper overlap on your photos to get a good result in photogrametry or 3d mapping. With that said, it is not impossible but the inspire 2 will make the job faster and easier while being more robust.
The inspire is not just for experienced pilots, like he said, they use it to make movies so I can agree that the mini is much better for its price than the inspire two I have the original mini 1, but what upset me is that he called it a toy😂
All drones range vary depending on your location and radio interference. Pairing the inspire 2 with the cendense remote extends the range and reliability but if you are flying in the city your mileage may still vary.

Just get a mini 2. Its a great drone not only for starters. You won't regret it at all.
Mini 2 is a great drone but when it comes to real world use it’s not going to hold up! I love my mini 2 for “fun” flying you know!

It isn’t comparable! One drone is made for experience pilots and other for beginners.
