UPEA SAUNA 🙋🏻♀️🇫🇮 yhtä upea kun teidän kartano 🌟💫
What a beautiful life you all have & love the video, I had questions about the bathroom too..although I've watched you from the first video I had forgotten where it was located. Have you ever considered opening the wall between the cowbarn & make your living space in the cabin larger even with your other cabin build you'd have more space for now ? I love watching Ivar growing up..I wish all children could be so peaceful & happy. Hope to see more videos & have a happy Christmas ! Love from the USA !
I recommend to that unfortunate family that in such a cold and snowy climate, that they have reindeer and yaks as cattle (these cattle are like cows covered with a lot of long hair, they withstand the cold very well, they are beginning to be considered as cattle in greenland, and can be milked)
Ni inspirerar oss. Tack för era fina videor
When the world around us seems to be falling apart and people look at the violence as if it's a hit TV show. Your family are a breath of fresh air, a calm in the storm. Watching Ivar learn and grow into the man he will become, with life skills and dedication to family that most kids will never learn in today's world. Blessings
100% true! So glad I found this channel! So refreshing!
Amen I love your channel ❤️.
You are so right about this lovely family. These are such personal videos and they draw me in whenever they pop up on my RUclips. Best wishes to this family.
I think you can learn those values anywhere...humans are in all kind of situations and the base is always family.
I can forget this insane world for an hour and enjoy the peace and calm of your homestead. Thank you!
Thank you!
I agree & love when I open youtube to see they have uploaded something !
Skål to that!
Great advice.
❤just beautiful.
Mathias, your drone piloting skill is close to wizardry! Ripping through the trees...impressive! The three of you have such a rich, full life. Thanks for bringing us along!
Yes its mystical the way he went into the laptop screen into the video filming was cool
Along with your camera work, photography, room lighting, and editing, I've noticed sweet Ivar's vocabulary improves with every video! Thank you so much, Mathias and Tova, for giving us a glimpse into a life's work we would should all be living. I could go on and on about the beauty of Malva, the tabby cat, the sheep, the chickens, and the animals you take care of, but in short I love everything about your content! Hugs to the three of you!
I remember that stage with my kids. They start to outgrow the nap but got tired around 4. If they fall asleep then they're awake until late. I guess a short, little nap is the answer. I think it's great Ivar sleeps outside. Some people are so nervous about their kids in the cool air, but it's so healthy! Love your videos and hearing about your life.
Yeah. My boy is 3 but now he naps at daycare, but when he's not in daycare he won't sleep and if he does it's always when we put him in the car seat after a long drive!
Do they have bears or wolves there?
This is an absolute masterpiece!!!!
I have watched every video you guys have put out, they are all interesting in their own way. But this is a stand alone piece, It could be on TV and beat everything on the tv.
People that have never watched you, can watch this and feel like they have known you for years. Y'all are so down to earth and I marvel at Tova, She is such a wonderful woman. As a woman in America myself. I can tell you that she is strong and at the same time very delicate and feminine. 🌻
I hope this next year you guys can move into the big house. But all good things come to those that wait. I have shared you to my Twitter and FB.
This beautiful and kind child is raised by wonderful parents. You simply bring joy in my life and whenever you upload a video, I call my family and we watch it together. I admire you both soo very much for so many reasons. Thank you for sharing all these videos, thank you.
Awww! I need friends to do this with. It's such a good idea! Thanks for sharing.
Love the look into your day! Your son will be so bright with all the reading you do with him and the time you spend with him! Wish all children had such good parents! Love the drone shots !!!!!
Having a Swedish grandmother and being raised around her you know her ways was having us kids sleeping with the bedroom door closed up and windows open she always said that the cold air when a person sleeps help keeps colds and sickness away and I believe it to this day. My windows are wide open in the winter time and cold air comes in and a person sleeps soundly and is not as sick as others get.
Wow I've never heard of that! Being raised in the US my first thought was, "surely the cold air would make you sicker.." but after researching it, it's true :D
I haven't seen little ones put outside to nap since I was very young in Germany. I Love that this practice still goes on -- it's so healthy!!
Also love everything you do on your off-grid farm.
I had never seen this done before, but I have to admit when I took care of my first grandson, if we went for a walk and he fell asleep, I would let him sleep in his stroller and it was fine! I sat there and watched him sleep! It was wonderful!
Aren’t you worried a wild animal could attack your sleeping child who is alone and asleep outside?
You are such a great editor/Cutter, Matthias, so well done in the end, when you were switching from your workspace at the Laptop right into the video from the drone 👍🙂. You all are such a great family together,, with Tova, Ivar and with all your sheep, chickens, Malva and the cats. Never let that go.💖
I have been following your journey for a year now and find that it brings joy and hope to my outlook on life. Fifty years ago my husband and I chose a similar off grid lifestyle on Bowen Island, British Columbia, Canada. We had sheep (Suffolk), goats and chickens. No electricity and water from the brook. Our house was a loggers’ cabin built in 1800s from four inch thick cedar planks. Good luck in your quest for a sustainable lifestyle, and keep your relationship strong. I look forward to seeing your family move into the house. 🐝🐝🍀. Sharon, Victoria, BC.
Are you still there?
Sharon what a wonderful picture you paint of your Bowen homestead. My daughters used to live there. I has a similar few years in a cabin in the woods in Ontario. I'm in Victoria too.
We always admire Bowen Island when journeying up to Malibu on the Princess Louisa Inlet every summer! I hear the views from the south side of the island at night toward Vancouver are magical.
They both have many excellent qualities, and I am especially struck by Tova's strength, gracious spirit, and natural beauty. She is like Demeter/Ceres, and Antonia in the Willa Cather novel though more complex. It is good to see young people working the land and utilizing a wise mix of old and new ways. God bless this dear family!
It was so nice to spend the day together it didnt even feel like an hour. It was so relaxing watching you guys do your chores and how precious little Ivar when you went to wake him up I have heard that in Scandinavian countries they leave the babies in buggies wrapped up outside to give them fresh air but also help them get accustomed to the temperatures so it was interesting to see you do that as well.
Ivar has inherited your gentle spirit. I would be hard pressed to present a Video Log of Peace. Mathias, you are so skilled at cinematography. Tova, you are a supportive mother and wife. I know so many would offer advice but you are well equipped with experience of what works and what does not work. I live in similar climate as Sweden in the United States so the dying of the Sun comes earlier each day and the festival of light is welcome. Know that you are not alone with your little family and I deeply appreciate all that you do I love you all, your friend Dan in the Americas...
I want you to know how much I love watching your videos. They are so comforting to me and a joy to watch. The world today is a world I do not recognize and watching your videos is heart warming. I know that both of you work hard to live this life. At times, maybe you wonder if it is worth it. It is! Your son is growing up in a great and wholesome environment. Best to you. Have a Merry Christmas!
I love this style of filming and video. It always looks so cosy and I feel like a fly on the wall, apart of it all. ☺️
Jag måste helt enkelt säga WOW! ✨️ Vilken video! 😍 Tack!

I love the way you interact with your son, children learn so much more quickly when they are nurtured. God bless you all.
I live in a 10 x 17 cabin with out water during winter. I also boil for hot water. Seeing another family enjoying this comfortable and quiet lifestyle is a thrill. How beautiful your videos are!
Can you see the happiest child in the world? I can say: Yes. When I watch your vlogs, I believe, that some day every child will be so happy and free as your boy is.
The God bless your family 🙏💝
Happy? Free? It's criminal what they're doing to that poor kid.
@@chickenlover657 ?
@@chickenlover657 What are you talking about? That beautiful boy is always smiling. He looks so very well fed and healthy. He gets to read books with his parents. He's very happy around all the animals. Ivar is so blessed to be in the environment that he's in and to have two wonderful parents that love him so much. I could only wish that all the children on this earth could have and enjoy the life that Ivar has. He is very lucky.
@@DavidWvu You're blind, deluded and don't know squat about child psychology. Stop living under a rock.
@@chickenlover657 🤣😂🙃 poor you.
I know it’s a hard life but in my heart you are so blessed. This way of living is so pure it makes me tear up. I look around and I do not recognize the world or my fellow humans. Than a video of yours pops up and everything slows down around me. For a while it seems everything is normal again and my heart is happy and hopeful.
Thank you for sharing your time and life with us
This has to be one of my favorite videos you have both done. Simply wonderful to watch from start to finsh. Keep warm and safe in these winter months 💚💚
7:20 I'm so glad you looked up what the english term was for the milk, it shows how much you care about your English speaking viewers. It's those extra touches that brings me back every time y'all post 💜
Your son doesn't even know how lucky he is to have parents like you who provide him with such a blessed life! ❤️ p.s. I would take long naps at your house also! Lol
Obrigada.
I absolutely loved that you incorporated food into this!!! Thank you so much for showing the way you eat and prepare food. It gives inspiration to others. Random question, how often do you eat potatoes? I can see you don’t do grains. Also that pizza looked amazing. I wish I could have a recipe book from you guys haha
Thanks for an amazing video and hope you all stay warm! It looks very cold. 🥶
We very much enjoy eating potatoes. Baked in the oven, boiled, mashed... But we try to keep them as a side dish and a treat. We feel best when not eating too much carbs and plants with potentially harmfull anti-nutrients. We do eat some grains from time to time, but very little.
So enjoyed this video. Your lifestyle is heart warming. Fika, I learned a new word! Watching this brought me back to the time when my children were young. Now the are in their late 30s and early 40s. Your boy is precious 🥰 What a snuggly way to nap 💤
I live in WA state. We’re in the middle of a blizzard right now. I can’t go anywhere so I’m saving this video to watch while I’m wrapped up in a comforter, drinking a warm cup of cocoa. I love your videos.
Boy do I understand that!
I also live in Washington state.
Me as well! Perfect day to watch this, eh?
I too live in WA state. USA; in the rural, east side, an hour south of Canada. My 12 acre forested homestead is buried in snow and plenty more to come. We basically had 3 weeks of Autumn weather and it went right to Winter. It's looking a lot like Sweden where I live. 😃
Do u always get this much snow in the state of WA? I live in Oregon, it got colder then usual here but we didn't get any snow.
I don't have running water either and I understand completely how much work it is to gather it and keep it warm or unfrozen, esp for the animals. That is a lot of work, you are very inspiring for me
I would like to thank you and your family for taking us along, it has been very enjoyable. So many ways of life and family living and I believe this is the best way. Children grow to learn responsibility and respect. I love how you talk to each other, low and respectful. The nap outside I have heard of , sounds healthy, something that would be dangerous in a city. I have enjoyed watching you and your family so much I missed my milk and cookies time at 2:00am may god bless you and your family and keep you all safe.
The "collision" between....what I call "stylized medieval peace".....and modern technology(the laptop) in the opening is wonderful. Reminds me of a Star Trek : Next Gen episode where Picard went back to Earth to visit his brother, and you see his space shuttle landing amid vineyards. For me, such a "melding" of cultures would be magical.
Your boy is so smart and well behaved. I really enjoy your videos!!
Awww Ivar is at the stage where he talks and talks and talks 💜 I remember the nap stage and when we transitioned away from the daily nap and into an earlier bedtime. It can be a struggle but it sounds like he's signaling to y'all that his little body is readu to make some changes.
Thank you both for sharing a tidbit of your daily lives with us 💜
All of your videos are special and unique. You pay due respect to each other, your beautiful child, your animals, the land and environment. One can't but admire that. Each time I see a new video my heart fills with joy. You bring me to a higher place and make me a better person from watching your lifestyle and loving interaction with each other. Thank you so much for your example. ❤
The intimacy, natural beauty, love and wisdom shared on this channel is like no other that I follow. What a privilege it is for us to get to know these three wonderful human beings and to get brief glimpses into such an extraordinary lifestyle. This video was a true gift. Thank you Mathias, Tova, Ivar and all the creatures of Talasbuan.
Your videography is stunning. It really encapsulates the beauty of your surroundings. Thank you for sharing a day in your lives. What a beautiful family living simply and working hard. May you all stay safe and warm this winter.
I am a woman and I'm 73 years old. I have been learning english for 3 years and I have been watching your logs in english for 2 years. I'm passionnate in all you show us from your life. I find you are very honest and modest. Matthias has a lot of skills for working wood but he doesn't hesitate to say his doubts. Both of us look as agreed with this life and nature and Yvar seems a child very stable. Let's go as you feel!
I never comment on any video, but yours are something else. You are a beautiful family, your message is so strong and still you are able to deliver it with such grace. Thanks for these moments, they are a gift to all of us! The best way of leading by example!
I would love to see what you all normally eat in a week! And perhaps you could explain where you get everything from, how you access the regular grocery store, etc. That would be so amazing!
They are so lucky to have access to fresh cream , milk and eggs plus lots of meat from their animals. It breaks my heart to see millions of children unable or never tasted a fresh cream! They are richer than all of their subscribers, just see what they eat for breakfast!
I have no words to describe how much I enjoy watching this wonderful family. I just burst out laughing when Evan said " did you shut father inside?! Haaahahahah. Love you, guys!
No wonder you all look so healthy, and so very happy -- I see why you are able to stay warm during the cold cold Swedish winters, eating such a nourishing and homemade diet! I love these domestic videos the most, showing your lovely home and way of life -- daily routines never get boring! Bless all of you!
💚 I am following your life documentaries for a while and everytime I am getting very exciting when you release something. I live with you through the moments you share.
🥰 The warmth in the family is melting my heart.
🥲 I always cry watching the not simple life you live. However it haven’t stop you to find the most beautiful moments of your life as a family & lifestyle and share with us. That’s making you great humans.
❤ I appreciate you for the choice you choosed to live as an sustainable life.
🤗 The little Angel on the Earth is so beautifully educated. You are doing such a wonderful thing together as parents.
😍 I always get emotional seeing the peace, harmony and love inside of the heart of your home. I am touched cause I yearn also for something Heavenly house, family and life Talasbuan represents.
❤ I love you the most beautiful humans. Don’t stop doing this wonderful awakening peaces of life art. ❤
Early morning is a great time of day, especially in the summer.
This was one of my favorite episodes you have done. Your filming and content is artistic and mesmerizing. Thank you for sharing your family and life. 🇸🇪
I am glad to hear you discuss refrigeration. Can't emphasize enough the challenge of keeping perishables when living off grid. Natural options are often too cold or too warm. I've been living offgrid most of 25 years and still no ideal scenario.
I appreciate learning your ways to help me with mine. I wish I started when I was young and vibrant as you three but even as a 67 year old woman I look and feel younger. The simple, slow, manual life has a natural rythm that seems to encourage physical and mental well being.
All the best to your beautiful family.
Thank you for the info. I'm thinking we all have to find some natural rhythm outside the immersion into electronics and a false existence. Pray for the children.
I am so impressed with the healthy diet you eat. And, what a happy young man you are raising. I am 78, too old for living off grid, but I respect your healthy way of life. I try to “eat clean” as we say in the USA, grow a lot of my own fruits and vegetables. I would have chickens too, but they are not allowed where I live. Your breakfast sounds so great a way to begin a busy day. Most important meal of the day. You will figure the cellar out. It just takes time and trial and error. God Bless all of you.
What a joyful little boy, an absolute delight. You have created a beautiful way to live and to bring up your child
Linda família, feliz Natal. 🥰👍👍👍👍👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
This made me so happy! I would love more day in the life videos like this, please :)
Lämpösät kiitokset videosta! Voi mahoton, ku nauratti "jäikö isä puuliiteriin?" 😂 Mahtava!
My children are grown now. I often miss the years when they were little, and their world was full of magic and wonder. Cherish these years together with your little one. ❤️
I just had the chance to watch this - and it was wonderful! I do hope you are all well and that you all have a wonderful holiday. Thank you Mathias, Tova and Ivar! Much love!
Proper carnivore breakfast. Love it ❤
What a precious little boy and thank you for sharing your day with us.
You are an amazing family, talented, determined and hard working. A joy to behold!
You three exude such calm, safe and peaceful love! Thank you!
Others dream of a life with money and luxery... I dream of a life like yours... i admire that you cope so well with all the roughness of a life like this :)
Little Ivar is the sweetest thing! Love hearing his Little talk even though I dont understand what he says! 😍
Beautiful video, thanks for sharing your day, I find peace in your videos, even seeing you work hard! 😅
Big hugs from warmer Spain! ❤🙏
What a wonderful video! Thank you for sharing a day in your lives!
I had a smile from ear to ear from beginning to end. What a lovely video this is. Happy to see more people with my same mentality about how I want to live in the future, but in my case, in Northern Norway. Sending your family a virtual hug from Honduras❤
I actually have been following you since Tova's video and have been hooked ever since. Living in South Africa, I cannot immagine your kind of cold in winter. (Ours rarely go below 0*C and to me thats cold enough, but our summers are mostly over 27*C) Your way of living, your genuine care for the land and your animals and the way you raise your son is fascinating and awe inspiring. I hope this video takes off too.
❄All your videos are beautifully done! ❄ So glad that I've found this channel. Thanks.Lots of love from Argentina ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your kind words!
@@Talasbuan 😊
if you are new here, how fortunate you are to have found this genuine hard working dedicated couple to what is important and worth value, stay tuned❤❤❤
How sweet is Ivar, doing his farm chores! So important to start young! Well done, I think you are awesome parents!
Rikki Biermann, Pretoria, South Africa 🇿🇦
I admire Your strength and adaptability. Ivar is thriving and is such a bright boy. How do you power your computer? Do you have some solar panels? Your cellar is wonderful and can preserve so much. Thanks for sharing a day in your life. 💞🎄☃️🎄
We got some solar panels and a bluetti battery. But the sun doesn't show this time of the year so we got some thinking to do on how we could generate power the best way. We don't need much at all.
Very nice video! Now I would like to see the village errands 😊
I still remember the naps in the pram outside, all babies had a nap in the garden(1959) I noticed how well you wrapped him,as you wrapped him up my heart swelled,I remember feeling very cold, maybe not so well wrapped in those days.
This used to be a common practice in the U.S., too, but for some reason parents got weird about it & it went away. People used to 'walk' their babies in all kinds of weather, too, but not anymore. Parents are hyper vigilant & want the cushiest existence, but it has not lead to more resilient children. My kids played outside in all kinds of weather & I would take them for walks on cold days, bundled up. They napped outside (not really during the winter, because they don't sell that kind of gear in the US to make sure they really are warm & it gets about 20 below zero Fahrenheit where i live) and played in the rain. They were NEVER sick. I am glad to see that some countries' parents have not lost their minds in this regard. I think it is very healthy for kids to live like Ivar! Wish more parents would do that here.
I love the sauna. Outdoor bathroom would be very cold but I guess you get used to it. Very simple but very healthy life you are living. Kudos to you all. 😊
Another beautiful video. Thank you. I’d love it if you could make a video with Tuva making cheese sometime. I recall seeing her make butter once but not sure if there’s been a cheese making video.
This nap time reminds me my childhood, in Nortern Finland, right on Arctic Circle, little , even babies, sleep outside, taking nap, it sure is good for them, very healthy, of course, not in 30-40 below, but a little freezing weather, I dont think, people is States, and other countries, than Scandinavia do it, but, Finns, Swedish, and I am sure, people from Norway do it !=)
Oh my luv to see a vlog from you 3 (:
Your boots luvluv them.
Just loved the vidéo, although it is à rough life it is also very peacefull and meaningful. All the animals, the nature, Just beautiful. Your meals are hearty and healthy. Ivar is à darling, love watching him grow. Less stress then noisy, hectic city life.. Thank you so much for your sharing. You have a lovely family. We appreciates your lifestyle. All the best.
Thank you for all the work you put into the video. Your family is appreciated.
Sporting you with subscribing.
" LOVE FROM PAKISTAN"✌️💕
Thank you for the film. As always I soaked every minute of it. So peaceful, clever and natural. Your films are the only ones ( of that kind) I watch.
Keep posting, please. I can't wait for the ` Christmas special` this year ;)
Thank you for the wonderful video and great editing :) I loved this one so much. It was great to see your family life during Winter in a Swedish forest. While the work looks hard, it's the life you've chosen, so it must bring peace.
Is Ivor learning Finnish, Swedish and English? I get so excited when I see new videos from you!
Sadly not much Finnish. He'll probably learn english since we use it so often. Swedish is the language we mostly speak.
Thank you for sharing your families day. It is enjoyable to watch. ... Just wanted to say how much I love your dog. She seems very intelligent, gentle and extremely patient. I always enjoy watching her. A special addition to your family.
I whant see more kids in this beutifull family
That's not our business and it makes no sense to anyone aware if the current human overpopulation (8 BILLION of us).
Really enjoyed this day in the life and also what your eat so interesting
Keep yourselves and the animals warm and safe ❤️🏴🇬🇧
We love your videos, as my husband and l are in our seventys we know how hard life can be in any walk of life but you 2 work so very hard just on a day to day pattern ....we hope it is all you want and need in your life, you both do seem to be at one with your surroundings and Ivar is so enjoyable as he grows ( are you going to learn him the english language ) so we thank you for all you post and your beautiful video skills ..............
Winter, snow, silence, beauty of nature... Calm and sincere picture of a very friendly and hard-working family... Thanks a lot for pleasure you gave and God bless you!:)
Ummm, if sleeping outside is so healthy, why are the adults sleeping inside? No outside naps for you. That is questionable enough, but do you have to set him down the trail from the house and wait to see if any wolves, bears, lynxes, or wolverines wander by for a snack? Seems a bit odd to me.
We put in plastic shelves in our roots cellar, not ideal but the sun wont degrade them and they are easy to clean. we wanted to avoid the mold from wood as its hard to deal with once it's in there and also noticed from friends using stainless steel that it starts rusting. You win some, you lose some.
Ivar is such a sweet little child! I laughed out loud when he asked if Tova shut Father in the dark.
Such a beautiful and remote place! How far away is the village and do you have to walk there? Do you have a vehicle to drive in the summer? Ivar is getting so big and talking so well! I enjoy watching you and your beautiful family grow! Hope the cheesemaking class went well!
Lovely vlog, thanks so much for sharing your life and your home with this community. I look forward to the vlog each month. You guys know the definition of living, not just existing.
I made a comment but in this one I want to know how to make the pizza crust. I am a diabetic and that would be perfect. I take no medication now. I control it with a low carb diet.

Interresting way of living. Maybe a little windmill would solve the electricity problem in winter?
Thank you Mathias, Tova and Ivar! Love seeing the snow and your daily activities! Much love 🤗🙏❤
Sweden is a beautiful place, one of my favorite places to visit. My husbsn6is finnish and we now live in the States. I am Native indigenous ,we get away into the village to help family growing up we had a similar lifestyle. It made the best memories. 💗.We had sheep and pigs, etc to sustain us. Now a days we have the consciences of coarse... one thing my family loves is the workmanship of my husband carpentry skills..he does beautiful work. We miss Finland and traveling to Sweden...I will definitely pass on this video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the long video. Really enjoyed it.
Hello, question from Sunny South Florida, I am A Finn though: Are those Cabin windows single or double windows?? Looks single???, Dont take very cold weather, 40 below???, just wondering ;o)
The first winter we lived here they where single :) That was a cold winter. After that we bought a sheet of energy glass that is fastened on the inside of the windows. It barely shows, but it is much better.
as always i am in owe of your beautifully respectful living style!
Thanks so much for this lovely video. A very peaceful and humble life you have. Your video is quite calming to watch after a very hectic day here in Trinidad, WI.🙂
What a beautiful life you guys live. Love your videos so much! Thank you for sharing ❤️
