Never claimed this as a 'proper' segmented speedrun. Just a sum of best segments run as title says, or a run that consists of gold (best) splits. It's the same thing for me anyway. Multiple attempts at a single level. Also getting this time is more difficult in sum of best than in one segmented run.

I guess that is necessary in order to trigger enemies in nearby rooms, so when those enemies appear they are actually in optimal positions (or even lined up in some cases, as in the "Defiled Church" segment) for easy kills/headshots.
To attract the elite guards in the big room. Normally they hide in random spots, when you make noise with mauser they come out and usually go towards the noise.

What is that glitch to avoid fall damage? And are you using a physics processer chip?
A lot of games don't save the speed/momentum in the save state so saving and reloading shortly before impact negates the fall damage.

With small 5hp healthpacks you can go over 100hp. Though, it doesn't work on steam version 1.32.
