I've started to work on this song a while back but never finished it. And this week, I have been traumatised once again with the finale in the US and the announcement of Masterpriece so I needed a little therapy. Hope you won't hate me for it... because the lyrics express what we feel too... so sorry...?
Also I struggled a lot with it. I had to watch the scenes of episode 8 several times. More than I ever had before. My heart still hurts from it. The video turned out to be from Charlotte's perspective and that was very hard for me... I didn't know if I would put the lyrics of the song in the video (I'm still not convinced). Which colouring to use and I had a last minute panic attack because I thought I had written "will" instead of "would"... AAAH!

I've been watching every episode back to back. I will never get over this. What's the point of even making the show if they weren't going to give us more. I've never been so hurt.

I think ITV should be ashamed if themselves. It's obvious Andrew Davies wrote the script with a second season in mind . I think of all the Hollywood crap that gets put out and ITV should have honored it's commitment.

Okay I thought I was done watching S & C videos but RUclips just suggested this one and oh my gosh is this a tearjerker. Even though it's just a silly show just the thought of real life stuff like that going on just breaks your heart for both of them...Great job on the song and the video clips selections. Don't understand the last one about not getting out of the carriage but all the others were so perfectly put together in order w that song...
Oh, I was just showing the parallel with both scenes of the carriage. In London he didn't want her to get OUT of it (the reason doesn't matter in my parallel) and on the cliff, even if he let her go, I'm sure that he didn't want her to get IN the carriage. So my parallel was that. And he closed the door very differently in both scenes. Do you see what I mean? 😊

Connie Sholl I totally understand! I wrote a short ending of my own just so I can sleep at night! Closure...with a happy ending! I’d love to read yours...better yet...see it for season 2!

This just made me terribly sad . . . Loved the show but I am completely dissatisfied with this ending. Ms. Austen is likely as upset as we all are with this lack luster conclusion

I'm so over this, it wouldn't matter if they do come back, if Theo James and Rose Williams didn't both come back it wouldn't be the same. I'm still puzzled as to how someone came across an unfinished Jane Austen book? How convenient they get to put their own ending to it, so they could have given us a happy ending, but here we are, begging for more, just the way they wanted!

Where is season 2!
I wasn't sure this story was really over but then I realised that this is what really happened to Jane Austen. Her mother dragged her and her sister around to find rich husbands but Jane's promising romances were ended because she didn't have money. I'm not sure Jane would have told her readers this hard truth.
Sidney is such a punk! I'll be back in a week, ha!..why didn't he keep in touch with her during all that time?
As much as I want a season 2, I thought that the greatest love story of all times, Romeo and Juliet, has an unhappy ending. Not really any comfort, but it would be at least in good company.
Definitely. It’s not the ending o wanted but not all love stories have a happy ending. So I can live with it.

Am I the only one noticing that Charlotte never calls him Sidney in episode eight? He says her first name three or four times in that episode. Strange.

I don’t think I ever seen Sydney smile in the presence of Eliza Campion. She seems so patronizing. He is making a huge mistake !
Theo James is not returning. So sad. It was his best acting and instead he is doing some other movie instead of this beautiful Austin classic which will last for many years to come. Not liking him so much. He let down the cast and his fans who worked so hard to get more seasons. He should take note of Sam Heugan in Outlander. He has made a real name for himself and I am sure he will continue to have a wonderful career.
