One was that he said the wedding plans were elaborate, which means there is plenty of time for things to fall through. Two was Susan saying that love is never a forgone conclusion. The Parkers can still find another solution for the debt. There's honestly several places they can get it, so it wouldn't have to be all one source. Arthur could give some, Georgiana some, Susan could, and we know that Lady Denham intends to leave her money to the building up of the town, much as she likes to threaten Tom with backing out. (Maybe she'll split it with Esther now that they're on better terms.) Plus Sanditon is on the map now, thanks to Susan's interference, so they could raise the money from the tourists.
Oh I see all kinds of possibilities there. A high probability could be Georgiana Lamb and her 100 thousand. How about Esther / Lord Babington and Lamb go half and half? That kind of money back then was infinitively plentiful. Esther is on good terms with Charlotte, Babington is Sidney's friend and Georgiana and Lady Susan are Charlotte's friends. I'd venture to say Georgiana would do just about anything to see Charlotte happy. After all Charlotte saw to it that they found Georgianna in time. Lady Susan swims in money. So between those three/four? I can see that working. Naw, I haven't given up hope yet. None of the Parkers will end up in debtors prison (can anyone imagine if there still was such a thing these days? Prisons would be swamped and people would be stripped of their everything they never even had - debtor's prison...... - put the credit cards all out of business. Watch those stockholders all have a certified heart attack and aneurism in one...pfth). Huh....?!? How times have changed....drastically.

This was the best out of the 50+ clips I have watched so far on RUclips. Great job with the clips and music selection. 👍🏻 I was hooked after the first episode and made the mistake of googling the show. So annoyed that I know how it ends and that so far season two is not confirmed. Would it have been so difficult to tape one or two more episodes.

Jane Austen novels don't end with the heroine marrying someone she doesn't love or who doesn't love her. I know she didn't finish the story of Sanditon, but I doubt anyone would end anything started by her unhappily. I didn't realize this wouldn't wrap up this year. P.S. I can't deal with another sad romance after seeing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
GoGreen1977 there was very intent on making a season two but ITV didn’t renew it. But maybe PBS will pick it up if it does well in the US, and maybe we won’t have a sad ending to this romance.
The one thing that bothers me in all these clips is Charlotte's hair. Women of that era didn't typically leave their hair down and loose, and usually wore some sort of bonnet when outside. As far as I see in the clips, all the other women look about right, but there is Charlotte with her hair down and loose and often no bonnet. It just looks wrong. Other than that, this seems a fine series and I hope for Season 2.
Bit weird acting like this and pretending to be heartbroken when you know his wife in real life is the one who gets him. Bizarre but that’s what acting is all about.

NO! Of course not. You don't have to worry about this. James knows that Charlotte loves Sidney and even after what he said before she leaves Sanditon, I don't think he will try anything with her. I mean have you seen how mature he was when he understood about her and Sidney? Of course he had his heart broken but he knew he wouldn't stand a chance. Well, at least it is my opinion 🙂
