Maaaan, I missed painting big monsters 😆 ! Let me know what you want to see next in this new series (yep, it's officially a SERIES!!!) and leave your comments and questions here and in the live chat!!! See you later 😘
I can't avoid putting in a vote for Creature Casters 'Death Elemental', is a gorgeous sculpt that begs for beautiful smooth oil highlights on the smoke as the monster climbs out of a portal!
It's not new, but would love to see you paint the Glacier King from Privateer Press. It would be really interesting to see how you render the sculpted ice and snow on him!
I would so absolutely love to see this army in real life!!! Looks fantastic and super nice explanation with the gloss and matt varnish. I knew this because of my arts career but i have already recommended the video to some people because its a masterful, easy explanation
What a hell of a smart way to paint and the result is just incredible. I'm stuck with classic basic approach of painting and I definitly have to look more on ink, oil wash and contrast paint. Thanks a lot for this video!!!
I really enjoy the lack of music in this video. Usually it overloads my head when trying to pay attention to what you do and say, as I cannot block the third sensory input coming in and causing noise, thus making longer videos more tiring. Here the hissing and brrring of equipment is very soothing and keeps the focus on what you say and do. Thank you Marco.
Marco, you're 100% one of the few true artists out there in the community and it amazes me every single time how effortlessly you make the whole painting process look, from the color choice to technique and application. There's so much to learn from you and I sincerely hope you're never going to stop making videos here. Even your speedpainting pieces look like they're worth a legion of golden demons. It's absolutely stunning! Seriously, do you have some professional education in arts or is this all sheer talent?
That's Ace+++ level. I'm jumpng with glee every new upload. Absolutely legend chaneel, Marco! Battle Damage and weathering on a tank would be interesting. Maybe even Tau?
Absolutely incredible!! I love your methods and how you leverage and break down your knowledge of colors. No gimmicks like other youtubers these days. I learn something new from each of your videos. Great work!
I would absolutely love to see something sci-fi with cleaner lines (infinity and Tau come to mind, but I'm sure there are plenty of other examples). Mostly because I'm curious how you would tackle something cleaner with oils etc. Also, love the video and whatever you choose to paint it'll most likely end up being enjoyable to watch. c:
I don't remember if he used any oils or not, but this Infinity trooper is one of my favourites of Marco's videos: ruclips.net/video/jGGPQLI22VY/видео.html
Hey, I have a question; I want to get into Airbrushing and I am not sure what air Brush and Compressor to get do you have any suggestions for a beginner?
I have an old, but still valid video on compressors: ruclips.net/video/NPhf2PW5lu4/видео.html and airbrushes: ruclips.net/video/h5-uqa0UHGI/видео.html and a full playlist on the general topic to expand: ruclips.net/video/NPhf2PW5lu4/видео.html&ab_channel=MarcoFrisoniNJM
Now that there's more room for bigger projects I would LOVE to see how to speed paint the heroes from Cursed City. I'm interested in how to speed paint a more "good guy" force. Most of the time when I try and use these tactics they just come out grimdark even when I want that shiney knightly vibe.
Try going through and reinforcing your highlights, after the fact, as well as using a contrast in values, as well as colors. If your primary is warm, desaturated, and bright, make your accents cool, saturated, and dark, almost working towards an appropriate, chromatic blue-black, for example. Differences in finish can also go a long way to getting a cleaner-looking finished result. Oh... And Payne's Gray is a magical universal oil wash color that is criminally underutilized by the talents in the community. Buy a tube, and thank me later.
Impressive as ever. Please continue with your good mood, it's very motivating and enjoyable to watch ! I would dare say that I prefer much more your work than the official Warhammer RUclips channel, you've got more ideas, tips and fun !
So, now you also make me buy cleaning products? Gosh darn, you have to many great tips! Speaking of what I would love to see, is your mind work on a golden demon entry from start to finish, from idea forming to changing the model, etc. I think that would be great to see.
Videos and painting keep getting better! I want you to do some MCP minis, you could use a Green Goblin to lead a goblin rebellion against the overbearing orcs
For a while, it was fashionable to use Pledge as the main component of "miracle wash" - just a way of making acrylic washes consistently. But then Pledge changed the formula, at least here in the States, and people stopped using it. Maybe it's come back now. As for this model -- I'm just amazed. I've been painting for 30 years and I feel like a beginner again. I'm especially interested in how you are getting your white (on the feathers) and black (on the robes) to look so interesting with a mix of colors. I'd love to see a short video just on white.
It would be wicked to see you paint Magnus the red, I’d love to see how you work the colours especially around his wings! Orrrrrr a big big tyranid would be badass
Predator Rex from LordofthePrint would be my first pick. Followed by Spidicules from KDM, or any big monster from Bestiarum Miniatures. Keep up the good work Marco. Absolutely loved this video.
Hi Marco, congrats for being my favourite video weekly (or almost weekly now). I'm right into mass painting now and wondering if going with oils or try airbrushing enamels (streaking grime). Of course I will gain speed and lose some tonal variation... Any advice?? Gracce and keep going!!
Hi Marco! I would love to see your paint style on a large model from an army that is clear, bright and harmonic: the Spirit of the Mountain of the Lumineth Realm-Lords. Anyway congratulations for your videos, they're always entertaining and enlightening!
Question: the "Instant color" paints that you used on the goblin rider: are they like contrast paints? I have never see them before and saw that they moved similar to a wash but weren't quite as liquid/transparent. I'm trying to build up my paint and effects for minis. Currently I use Army painter warpaints and Liquitex inks with a few CW washes. Would the Instant Color paints be worth having? (In the future I am hoping to get the Scale 75 paints, but not any time soon.)
I'm really inspired by your painting process. I talk about you sometimes on my own RUclips channel. I've bought a oil paint set already Gloss varnish seems really cool, i will probably buy one too 😁 Thanks for your job and share 😉
Absolutely love the model and your work on it! Great choice of colours, striking composition! On an unrelated note, What is your opinion on trophy nomads? People traveling throughout the world to snatch up smaller competitions, that were never meant for an international competition?
@@bastianniemand7460 Its position on the map and on the calendar made it an impossible destination this year, but I totally felt the hype and the excitement so I'm already working for next one at Adepticon 😋
14:55 Marco, I am obsessing over the quality of the red details on the banners here. How did you manage to paint these recessed areas so cleanly? Was it just edge highlights to tidy up around the edges, or is this where you used the varnish and oils technique you illustrate just before this section? Amazing as always.
Hey, I saw you never got a reply. Not sure if you're still looking for an answer, but I used this tutorial to make my own version of this model. I was able to get the exact same result by just using the Citadel contrast paint 'Fireslayer flesh'. You can watch him do this on his patreon, although he doesnt really say what contrast paint he used, I was able to guess it off the initial color before it dries. Hope this helps!
Got a newbie question, so i wanted to do a light shadow shade on my Vigo head and if i put too much water to make the paint more transparent it tends to create a harsh border. On one tutorial i saw that it's better to damp the surface before applying and clean the edge with a paper tower or a clean brush but the question is do u need something else to have better control like medium glaze, retarder or flow enhancer? I'm using mostly Vallejo Game Color paints.
Absolutely love your content, Marco. You set me down the path of oil paints and for that you have my eternal gratitude. I have noticed that the Abteilung oils seem to dry extremely glossy (even when thinned to wash consistency) and take literal weeks to fully dry. What do you do to work around that?
Video davvero belli di ottima qualità! Molto interessante ed istruttivo. Molto simpatico l'accento inglese un po' italianizzato anche se a volte è davvero comico 😁😁... Ma comunque complimenti!
Another great and inspiring video. Glacier King from Horrdes would be a good call for another monster. Bit sort of the same as in its a big model, would like to see you paint a vehicle.
With the book of boba fett around the corner, I’d love you to branch out genres into Star Wars legion - would love to see your speed-painting take on storm troopers/shore troopers. Or perhaps since you mention tank modeling a lot, I would enjoy seeing your process on a large AT-ST imperial walker showing some weathering tricks with oils and powders.

Hi, 2 ink questions. Do i need to use my lesser airbrush for them? Are they hard on it? And as a starter kit which ones do you reccomend?
I recommend you have a look at some of privateer press horde models, some of them need some green stuff corrections but they have nice estetics
If youre interested in more monster miniatures i mean :)
May I ask what PSI you use when airbrushing inks? I often wind up dousing my model in them when airbrushing, even briefly.
