I had to make one too, and it is so cute. I adapted mine to the wrist pincushion by adding a patch to slide a wrap ruler, it is perfect😊 thank you again!
I cut out the 4th fish for me tonight. I think I'll do one more and make it an uneven 5. I adore odd numbers for the aesthetic factor. I really love how this fish turns out. It's so cute! I'll post some pix on Instagram when the fallout in my studio settles. lol :D Thank you for making me a better seamstress/tailor. After all these fish, oddly enough, I feel like I could tackle shoulder pads on a formal suit jacket for some weird reason. Tell me I'm not losing my mind. Ha!
You sound like a kindred spirit! Odd is always more pleasing to the eye! You are completely sane I’m sure, I’m glad you are gaining confidence, now,...tell those shoulder pads who’s the Boss!😂🥰🤗
Thank you for this one. Got a friend who got a new kitten. She needs new toys to keep her busy. Stuffing it full of catnip for them. Making spares for my cats and the cat shelter.
That's what I'm planning to do also! I have a cat who plays aggressively, and even tears up dog toys. He will love this! Perfect "kick" toy, and I know I'll need to use sturdy fabric for the fins, maybe interfaced with buckram for happy biting! I love your idea of making extras to donate to the shelter.
@@LazyIRanch I learned, don't use standard cotton fabric. Instead, go out and get some heavy fabrics for furnishings, heavy curtains like blackout fabrics, something thick. I got catnip ALL OVER my house. She ripped through that thin cotton in a few short days with her TRIMMED nails, lol. I re-did it with a heavy blackout fabric. That one, she hasn't managed to tear up at all.
An old pair of blue jeans works pretty good too if you've a pair of old jeans you're going to turn into shorts anyway use the fabric from the lower legs..
Hello! Such generous sharing, detailled work. So much thanks, even if it will just stay (or not) à project 😋. A real pleasure watching and earing your videos, which i look one by one. Hey from North Carolina, USA! I can't wait to start my school of fish! Love your idea to hang them! LymeZombie's came up with the idea to hang a fish in her car called "Guppi"! I came up with the idea to put an air freshener inside of the fish's body and have super cute air freshener. From your great design and ideas creates more wonderful ideas, thank you so much for sharing your creativity, it's contagious!
Wow! Your tutorial videos are absolutely fantastic! You have a perfect teaching & presentation style, very clear & precise directions in a very nice tone & pace! Oh how I love these little fishes! 🐠 My grandson loves fishing with his dad so I shall be making him a couple for Christmas! 🎄 Thankyou for all your fab patterns and tutorials! You’re a wonderful teacher and an inspiration! 🥰. Xx
Going back thru all the videos that I have missed while I have been non-stop mask making... Thank You for so many quick fun things to help to give me a creative break. :)
Yikes on the non stop masking. I did the same thing. I made over 400 and sent them allnover the country to family and friends so they could go tp hunting. I also sent 100 to my aunts nursing home. Made no money. I enjoyed doing it. A sister in California , one in New Mexico, between the 3 of us we got all family and friends. A lot of work, but a lot of fun.
Thank you for your response! I admire your work very much.❤ The attention to detail. Your videos are so well explained that it really makes it easy to replicate your projects. I have great respect and admiration for your work. Thank you for sharing all this with us!🤩
Ive finally gotten to this little one. I found the perfect scalloped fabric on a trip to California. Just have a question, where do you order your Guterman thread from? I found a pack of 10 top stitch set with a variety of colors on Amazon, and to get other colors, I can only find them individually. I'd like to find a good variety set of the top stitch. They are great as you always say. I use them a lot now.
@@payitforward9442ok, thank you. I need to check Hobby Lobby, or even Michael's craft store. We have a small quilting shop near by that sells fabric, threads and yarn. I'm scared to death to go in there. Haha
After 3 attempts to make a fish I know have three fishes all with out their lower fins! So I’ve given up and am back to making my cats and dogs! My grand daughter will not be getting her fishes but at least two dogs and two cats haha.
Hello. I am new to sewing and am looking for cute things to make and this fish is now one of them 💖 Can you please tell me what type of interfacing you use? 😁
Hey Lisa, im Christel from Germany. what fabric do you use for sewing? it must be a very tear-resistant material. I just discovered your RUclips channel today.😅
Hi Christel, The trick is to interface all your felts and fabrics with a fusible, woven, cotton interfacing first. This will give you strength and flexibility.🥰
I had to make one too, and it is so cute. I adapted mine to the wrist pincushion by adding a patch to slide a wrap ruler, it is perfect😊 thank you again!
Another cutie I have to make. Thanks you again for sharing your talent and inspiration with us.

You are the best teacher of soft toys 🥰

If using embroidery floss for the blanket stitching on fins, should I use all 6 strands, 3, 2, 1 strand?
So very stinking CUTE❣️❣️🤩😍❣️❣️💥🎊

Hello. I am new to sewing and am looking for cute things to make and this fish is now one of them 💖
Can you please tell me what type of interfacing you use? 😁
Hi Katrina and welcome! I always use a Fusible , woven, cotton interfacing in a medium weight. It needs to be woven for the flexibility. 🥰
@@payitforward9442 Thank you so much! 💖
Would make a good pin cushion or a pattern weight, instead of the triangle ones people make. I may make our cats the fish and add some cat nip
Yes! Great idea😊
