Totally agree with every word here!!! Love having my 8 pro as my back up stick now!! I play a few times a week, it was totally worth it to me to treat myself to this upgrade with my pure hockey coupon! Lol! The first time I used it during practice, I totally forgot I had the new stick and when I let off a shot, it went thru the defender and caught the goalie totally off guard and it caught ME off guard, too!! Because I was like-WOW!!! That was even MORE effortless and even quicker!!! How?!? It was so smooth!!! I can't even describe it! So good!!!! Everything the 8 pro is and more! So happy I upgraded after summer season and really looking forward to fall/winter!
Wondering if you're using all new sticks or reusing e.g. the Trigger 8 Pro and comparing it to a factory new Trigger 9 Pro. Asking because the initial pop of a brand new stick tend to last for just a couple of weeks, again depending on use/abuse and as it could make quite a difference in the tests.
Great question! We always have a new stick to hand for that. I hold onto one factory new (unused) top end stick for each manufacturer for this exact reason.
Thanks for the awesome and helpful videos! I have a quick question, for you both, how tall are your hockey sticks on the ice (skates on)? Where does the butt end of your stick come to? (collarbone, below chin, lips, nose). I listened to one of your other videos and you mentioned trying a shorter stick and feeling better control, harder shots and etc. I was just curious. Wondering if a vid of different heights would be worthwhile for people to see how it effects a player with a stick that is too short and a stick that is too tall. Keep up the great work on the vids. Cheers!
@@kevinlmalec25 one of my teammates went the whole season last year with a stick that was too tall for her. Finally we were like you NEED to cut that down!! What an amazing improvement it made on her game!!! I'm 5'6" tall. I use an intermediate CCM stick and I do not cut them at all. They are the perfect length for me. But I think everyone is different. Skates are different now, blade heights are taller, skates are taller than what they were when I first started playing. I took time off from the game and when I came back I bought a new stick and skates and made the mistake of cutting my stick when I bought it before going out and playing with it. First time in the ice I immediately knew it was too short. But I had cut it like I used to and the way it was suggested to me to cut it. I think you could ballpark it, but it really comes down to how you feel when you're out skating. You get used to your style and you will know what feels comfortable skating with the puck for stick/puck handling, but still having enough length to effectively poke check, too. And you don't want to be leaning over so much bc it's too short. If it's too long, you can tell, too. And also whether you are offense or defense makes a difference. So many factors go into it!
Could your shots be coming off better because it’s a newer stick ?? The pop of a new stick is awesome compared to a used stick tht might have a little blade flex
Hi, enjoy watching the channel, can we give more info other than personal preference. For example better graphite, different weave, overall better construction. I can understand that! Thank you
Need your opinion, would you bump up your flex on a trigger 9 pro to 80 flex if you used a ccm jetspeed ft 6 pro 75 flex last season? Low kick tend to be very whippy and play net front. Thanks.
Keep tuning in hoping for the opposite but each video seems to have less and less feedback from Tommy. "you know what I mean?" no! we don't, thats why we are watching. It's not in the selectively edited footage either, mate. Hope in future videos you can figure out how to communicate what you are experiencing better.
Well this review is crap! The Trigger 8 Pro is piece of junk. My 17 year old broke one above the blade after 4 practices. No one stepped on it, there was no damage done to it prior to breaking. Then the replacement one broke deflecting a slap shot from a junior aged players shot! The blade broke in half on a deflection. I have never ever seen this happen with any stick in the past! Certainly not with the Bauer Nexus sync line! Only reason going to CCM is the Junior league he plays in is sponsored by CCM so had to switch. I am not sure if my 170lb 17 year old junior player is having these issues what does an NHL guy have for issues? A stick a period with this brand?
Trigger 9 k vs Trigger 8 pro next🔥
yeah need this one

@@HockeyTutorialOfficial How do you have the budget for that?
a blind test between trigger 9 pro and ft 7 pro would be nice!
What curve do you use?
I wanna see more or the Nexus Tracer
The arena at the beginning of the vid is super cool, if you don't mind me asking what arena was this filmed in?
Alexandra palace in Haringey, London
Question tho were both of them brand new? Cause if he used the trigger 8 for a while it’s obviously not going to perform like a brand new trigger 9

Off topic but how do you just change what type of skates you use. I can’t skate with new skates 😂
"Didn't score many goals did you?" Why did chris have to do him like that😂
Are you guys doing the new sherwood?

What's the name of the song you use when tommy is taking shots on net?
