Volume of fluid simulation with convex particles and immersed boundary

The video showcases a coupled CFD-DEM simulation illustrating the dynamic process of water gradually filling a volume containing sand particles. The fluid, represented in light blue, enter the domain which contains gas and solid convex particles (in violet). As the simulation progresses we observe the filling of the domain and the interaction between gas, liquid and solid. The simulation also captures the occurrence of trapped air at the end of the simulation.
