Adam - I love the way you put your videos together. So calming. I really loved the elevated view of the little falls and the image of the mountains receding into the distance - very evocative. Thanks so much, Adam. 👍🦘🇦🇺
Number 9. Most of your work is gentle and quiet, which is peaceful to view. I like the power of the ocean and yet the long exposure also made it peaceful. Kudos.
Thank you for showing everyone why the world's old growth is worth saving. You're completely right about how photographing the forest takes practice, persistence and patience, and you manage to do it justice.
What I admire about your photography is that you see photos in areas that I would overlook. And then proceed to get a great shot. I also admire how you go out in all weather if you think there is a shot to be had. I've always said that I'm a fair weather photographer. Just one of the many reasons that I'm not a pro. But, I do love your photos and videos and look forward to more in the coming year.
Every one of your images has something special to offer and I really enjoyed each of their respective stories but, for me, you saved the best until the end - I could really feel the cold, smooth, crunchy ice. Brrrhh!
While I have no argument with your choices, it’s always interesting to hear a photographer’s reasons for selecting a “favourite” amongst hundreds (or thousands) of images. Certainly it’s an activity that I find very difficult. If one was to make a selection of images you think your audience might consider favourites, it might result in a totally or at least partially different selection. If we make images for ourselves, then the most relevant list is as you have demonstrated. Thanks very much for your efforts in 2021 and all the best as you pursue your 2022 collection.
Such a beautiful collection Adam but number 3 for me. Was when you took it and is now, I just love the way you capture the ancient growth forests in Canada….it’s a real treat to watch.
I like this presentation style way more than the usual one where the photographer is talking in he's office. You got some stunning shots this year, especially the 3 images with the waterspray are amazing!
Number 6 and 10 are my favorite out of your selections. I love the tones in number 6 and the light really set it off for me. Number 10 is the ice. I lived in Maine for a few years and it reminds me of the ice that would form on the rivers there.
Each have and are a rare beautiful narrative moment, of a beloved Forest biome that resonates with the inner YOUNGER-SELF. Your beautiful proofs exist as you are the conduit of sensory visualization, by nature and choice that formulates that you are numero favorite. Cinematography compilation is resplendent Adam, I got chicken of the woods goosebumps.. thank you for creating and sharing and reminding me to be ready for the next FOG forecast ! ; P [Drawn to 3,5,6] Looking forward to the grand wonderment of icicles...
All of these of lovely images! I think my favorites of this selection are 3 and 5. In those shots, I can almost feel, smell and hear the forest and both make me think, "I wish I had taken that."
Hey Adam, a really beautiful collection. As for No. 9: I prefer the color version. The B&W is great too, but for me it is the color what makes this an amazing image.
Great selections, Adam. I must say that as much as I can’t get enough of your photography, I also can’t get enough of your drone work and the way you bring it all together with your music selections.
Old growth forest mirrors human life - birth, adolescence, middle age, old age and death. To me that’s what fascinates. I’d choose Photo 03. Great work Adam.
Absolutely stunning collection. It is really hard to pick one. Once I am totally convinced I am in love with one picture... then you come up with another one, and then another one.... I have to watch this presentation a few times and I encourage everyone to do so. Every time you see it, you find new fascinating details on the compositions. This is very inspiring work and it sets the bar higher. Your next book have to come with image description.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful shots with us Adam. All of the shots you share with us are absolutely fantastic. In this video, I'm torn between shot 5 and shot 9. Shot 5 has a certain innocence to it, that is very inviting....it gives the impression of a very quiet, peaceful place that I personally could spend a long time in just relaxing. Shot 9 is quite a contrast to the tranquility of shot 5, but is certainly beautiful in its ruggedness (...and as a bonus, I love the beautiful scenery of my homeland); of the 2 composures on Harris, I think I prefer the colour shot, however the black and white is very interesting, it's got a kind of prehistoric feel to it. Thanks again for all the lovely work, I look forward to seeing what 2022 brings us.
I love how you incorporated the B-roll from each photo shoot into the best of 2021 episode. It made it feel like you were taking us along with you on your way to your favourite locations❤️😁 My faves of this collection age images 2,5,7,8,9(both versions)&10. Looking forward to seeing the episode for image # 10
All great photos Adam. I, too, liked number 5 the best, although all are wonderful. I liked how you mixed in video with the stills. On #9, I really liked the color version. It depicted the power of the surf.
Hi Adam, you have an amazing photo collection. Regarding your favorite photos. I love them all, but the 9 shot is the winner because it is so intense and profound.
A gorgeous collection of photos. It’s really hard for me to pick one favorite. With regards of No 9, the color resonates with me more than the B/W. Thanks so much for sharing a magnificent collection for the year and for the effort you put in for the videos and sharing what we were seeing and the background of the reasons for each photo. 👍👍
Very enjoyable retrospective! #3 and #5 are my favorites. #9 in color would be my next choice. I'd be proud to have taken any of them. I look forward to your 2022 content!
A great collection for a difficult year of 2021. Re the x2 images from the Isle of Harris; I prefer the 1st image, it has the drama and compacted into a square format suits the subject. Cheers.
A tremendous body of work in a challenging year. Of the two images on the coast of Scotland, I prefer the color; however, the B& W is fantastic. I love the mood of both.
Really enjoyed watching your adventures in 2021 while we were locked down in Australia. The old growth with the stream & ferns was my fav, followed by the very misty forest near the waterfall and that waterfall with the log above.
Adam, I'll readily admit that I like all your images but as soon as #5 popped up I said, Wow! That's an image to be proud of. I also liked the color version of #9. It's a very powerful image and partly because I love wild rocky seascapes like that one. Keep up the good work!
All amazing and inspiring as your work usually is, of the two seascapes I prefer the first where you combined the two images short and longer shutter speeds love the combination and energee captured!
These are all superb images, honestly I could not pick just one. Thanks for inspiring us with you great work every single time when you upload something
Hi Adam: I really enjoyed this recap of your favourite images from 2021. All of us have been restricted this past year because of Covid-19 but there are still beautiful images to be had in our local areas. We were very fortunate to get to Vancouver Island for 14-days so that will always be a highlight of my photography in 2021. Keep safe....Cheers, Keith (Barrie, Ontario)
Lovely, and thank you. My favorite of all is the first one, from Little Mountain (and of the two from that location, the first). Hope 2022 will be a much better year for all of us.
Great shots Adam. I think you are a master of creating balance in a photo. Each one seems perfectly thought out. I also enjoy your drone work and like how you have the drone going backwards which is quite different than others I've seen.
I have to agree with your choices between the options for the three images that you asked about. I'm a big B&W fan, but I really liked the composition of the color image on the coast of Scotland. My favorite of all is image #3. You captured the old growth forest so nicely. It is so very difficult to simplify the chaos of our west coast forests.
Beautiful images. Also beautiful drone videos too. Maybe one year you could also do your top drone videos? Sometime you do a short but breathtaking drone video as a intro. Thank you Adam.
Number 5 is one of my favourites. I love how green the whole scene is, with the pop of waterfalls. And you have framed the waterfalls perfectly. Absolutely beautiful :)
Thanks for sharing your favs Adam!! Love hearing your thought process. And I really enjoyed your editing of this vid. The hike. The aerial. Then the discussion. Great stuff. I prefer the color version of #9. I love how you blended the slow and fast shutter speed images to get the effect of soft… but with some great detail. Thank you!
Thanks Adam for sharing some of the highlights and favourites - loved seeing them all for various reasons. How on earth you managed to chose any favourites in amazing in itself.
Hello Adam, this is a very good selection of images for 2021. There are certainly some good images as well. Number 9 I prefer the black and white version. I wish you good light for a good selection in 2022.
Fantastic collection, photo from 5040 is my fav. I always find that kind of layering fascinating. Looking forward to what you have to offer this year. I think I’ll have to get up pre-dawn tomorrow and head up to Almscliffe Crag to see what the sunrise offers! Cloud forecast looks promising!
that image at 8:10 is fantastic. Like you mentioned, it's incredibly difficult to get a simple composition in chaotic environments, making this that much more impressive. It also really captures the scale of the old growth trees. Stunner!
Lovely images (again), Adam. Always intriguing what someone picks of their own work. Plus, the video made me think of another that could be made: “My favourite drone sequences of 2021”, your use of which I’ve always thought fantastic.
Fantastic photos Adam, I prefer the colour version of the Isle of Harris, I’ll have to give that technique of combining slow shutter and fast shutter a go, great effect.
These are all amazing Adam. That 50-40 with the haze or fog was just beautiful 💖. But my favorites are those old growth forests. I love the deep mossy greens in the trees and ferns, and the fallen logs really give it character. Just amazing. Thumbs up too for your drone footage. You make it look very cinematic, not like a lot of other drone video that's out there. Thanks for the sneak peek! 🤗
Thank you Adam, whilst I don’t generally comment on videos, I felt that you “deserved” ( not the best words to use I am sorry ) the recognition and acknowledgment of your wonderful work. I follow your tutorials regularly and enjoy your delivery but of course most of all the images. Photography is merely a hobby and I aspire one day to take it to a level that I would be proud to share.
Hi Adam, all of the pictures are beautiful. While not a picture I really liked the video for picture 8. My favorite is the color version of #9. Thanks for sharing and teaching.
I did enjoy this. I think my favorites are 7, 8, 9 and 10. For 7 I like that first photo. I love the layering for 8. For 9 I like the color. I also love the close up on 10 with the ice. There were some other shots you did this year that I really liked but I guess they weren't your favorites. Thanks for sharing!!!
Photos 5, 8 and 9 stand out to me. But there was something about 5 that held my attention. I loved the soft green colour and the 3 small falls really drew my attention. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent images, Adam! Difficult to select a favourite, as it is like trying to choose which one of your children you like best. In other words, they are all stunning! Also always enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of your videos. No better way to start a Sunday morning than with a coffee and your work!
Dear Adam, As a landscape photographer of the year I suspect forest fire images you might take would make superb conservation/climate change/ forest protection images! The Isle of Harris coast image is reminding me how much I’m enjoying images in which there is wave definition and how over done the misty long exposure images are. The one in which you couldn’t tell at all it was water instead of mist does nothing form me. Be for you showed the two long exposure image there was a shot with some actual definition. Much preferred in my eye. Loved the ice image of #10. The exposure was spot on for that image! Over all a spectacular collection, with almost every image would be a star in my portfolio had I taken them. I’ve got to spend time on VI again, without wife, so I can explore these places!
Of your old growth images, I like the layers of trees in No.6, I like the B&W pano from Harris and I really like the Boxing Day image of the ice at Englishman River falls. Most of all I enjoyed your explorations this past year and the making of so many images. A really good 2022 to you Adam!
Wonderful portfolio, especially No. 3. Other favorites are the color version of the smashing waves and the first shot of the trees in the mist of the falls. Bravo.👏
I think all of your chosen images are fabulous. Each has their own element that stands out, whether it is the composition, the sharpness, the colour or the obvious skill it took to take it. I like the first image for number 1 because it is closer up to the trees and I like their colour. I like the colour version of number 9. My favourite image is one that I could just stare at for hours, it’s very zen, and I also like the video that you did for that image, number 8. For that video we did a bit of hiking, we did some camping and eating some trail food, and saw some stunning views. It’s all good. Love it, thank you.
Adam, all the photos are very beautiful. However my favorite one is #8, the mountain layers. Love the layers and contrast. It brings me a peaceful feeling. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
so many exceptional images - and really also love the large scale of the trees that can be hard to find and see when living in other places in the world.
Adam - I love the way you put your videos together. So calming. I really loved the elevated view of the little falls and the image of the mountains receding into the distance - very evocative. Thanks so much, Adam. 👍🦘🇦🇺
I like all pictures but the first one is my favorite. The green colours, the composition and the mood are spectacular.
Number 9. Most of your work is gentle and quiet, which is peaceful to view. I like the power of the ocean and yet the long exposure also made it peaceful. Kudos.
Thank you for showing everyone why the world's old growth is worth saving. You're completely right about how photographing the forest takes practice, persistence and patience, and you manage to do it justice.
shamanic sense to it all; old growth forests, all images. you are blessed to live there.
I absolutely LOVE that layered mountain view shot! 👍👍
Brought back some happy memories of your expeditions. All lovely photos but your choice number 5 and number 10 are exceptional! ❤️👏👏👏
The first of the falls is my favorite of the trio! Well done there!
Every one of your images has something special to offer and I really enjoyed each of their respective stories but, for me, you saved the best until the end - I could really feel the cold, smooth, crunchy ice. Brrrhh!
I'm glad that several of these made it into your 2022 calendar and I can enjoy them even more now knowing what they meant to you!
So good to see my own stomping grounds so clearly. Your drone operating continues to impress and inspire.
While I have no argument with your choices, it’s always interesting to hear a photographer’s reasons for selecting a “favourite” amongst hundreds (or thousands) of images. Great selections, Adam. I must say that as much as I can’t get enough of your photography, I also can’t get enough of your drone work and the way you bring it all together with your music selections.
All great, but I think my favorite was the last one. Very unusual. I love the blurred water behind the ice. Thanks Adam!
Old growth forest mirrors human life - birth, adolescence, middle age, old age and death. To me that’s what fascinates. I’d choose Photo 03. Great work Adam.
I like your personal favourite, but I also really like the first of #7, the misty trees in Yoho. Excellent!
Absolutely stunning collection. It is really hard to pick one. Once I am totally convinced I am in love with one picture... then you come up with another one, and then another one.... I have to watch this presentation a few times and I encourage everyone to do so. Every time you see it, you find new fascinating details on the compositions. Some very thoughtful work Adam. It's nice to see that Old Grumpy can see the trees from the forest;-)
Thanks for sharing these beautiful shots with us Adam. All of the shots you share with us are absolutely fantastic. In this video, I'm torn between shot 5 and shot 9. 5 and the color image at 9 are my favorites but they’re all beautiful.
I love how you incorporated the B-roll from each photo shoot into the best of 2021 episode. It made it feel like you were taking us along with you on your way to your favourite locations❤️😁
My faves of this collection age images 2,5,7,8,9(both versions)&10.
Looking forward to seeing the episode for image # 10
Hard to choose, they are all beautiful. You continue to inspire me . For number 9, I prefer the first one!
Gorgeous images as always. It is a wonderful collection. I prefer the colour version of the seascape in Scotland.
All great photos Adam. I, too, liked number 5 the best, although all are wonderful. I liked how you mixed in video with the stills. On #9, I really liked the color version. It depicted the power of the surf.
Well done on these selection Adam. Especially liked 7-8 and 9. The first images of 7/9 were my choice. Number 8 is so serene. All the best.
Nice opportunity to recall the videos these photos appeared in. Enjoyed 'em all.
8 and 9 (color) BOOM!! Mind blown…. 10 is awesome also.
It is a real pleasure to enjoy your photos and videos which I see several times as they are a great inspiration and motivation. thank you so much🙌🙌🙌
They were all my favorites! Magnificent body of work! Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks Adam, the colour exposure blended shot in Scotland is my fav !!
The 3 photos - 7th favorite pick photos, reminded me of fighting fires in the Chilcotins. I agree your 5th pick photo is one of the best.
A tremendous body of work in a challenging year. Of the two images on the coast of Scotland, I prefer the color; however, the B& W is fantastic. I love the mood of both.
Nice set, I prefer the Composition in the colour version from the Western Isles with the blend.
I like thee. color version of the seascape.
Third photo was excellent, and eigth also, smashing drone footage too, many thanks.
Really enjoyed watching your adventures in 2021 while we were locked down in Australia. The old growth with the stream & ferns was my fav, followed by the very misty forest near the waterfall and that waterfall with the log above.

I agree with the master no 5 is my favourite as well. Still the other ones were beautiful as well!
I wouldn’t want to have to pick just one. I am going to say that I love your drone work almost as much as your images. Always so peaceful
Thanks 👍
Quite a productive year! I loved all the images and their stories, however, I would purchase my favorite # 5.
Hi Adam: I really enjoyed this recap of your favourite images from 2021. We were very fortunate to get to Vancouver Island for 14-days so that will always be a highlight of my photography in 2021. Keep safe....Cheers, Keith (Barrie, Ontario)
btw .. this was a beautifully produced video Adam. this mix of video , photos and narration ... really excellent.
thanks for this
Lovely, and thank you. My favorite of all is the first one, from Little Mountain (and of the two from that location, the first). Hope 2022 will be a much better year for all of us.
merci Adam. Vue en couches dans les montagnes, si douce et apaisante.🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
What a wonderful selection of images, I really enjoyed viewing them.
Loved them, especially number 5 …
Beautiful - I agree no. 1 is stunning. Hoping we get some heavy snow or hoare frost as your making me jealous!
Great shots Adam. I think you are a master of creating balance in a photo. Each one seems perfectly thought out. I also enjoy your drone work and like how you have the drone going backwards which is quite different than others I've seen.
What a stunning set of images 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I liked all the images but image #5 was my favorite. Nice work!
Adam, I loved your review. You have an amazing eye for the beauty of our world. Thanks and best of luck getting "the shot" in 2022! Cheers!
Number 5, because of the way you framed it. The walls act as leading lines right into the waterfall. Great shots, Adam.
nice set of photos. really like 3, 4, 5, and the color version of 9.
Aloha Adam, love the way how you can shoot the forest and the green, bau my favs is number 2. ciao!
my favorites are number 4 and number 8 continue to make us travel and good luck for 2022
Hello Adam, this is a very good selection of images for 2021.
Stunner!
I went back to 8:10 to see if that was the same image I was impressed with. It is.
Lovely images (again), Adam. Always intriguing what someone picks of their own work. Plus, the video made me think of another that could be made: “My favourite drone sequences of 2021”, your use of which I’ve always thought fantastic.
Love the icy branch one.
Fantastic photos Adam, I prefer the colour version of the Isle of Harris, I’ll have to give that technique of combining slow shutter and fast shutter a go, great effect.
Lovely shots and very well explained details. I love your fav. no. 4. Heapy New 2022 and great shooting.
All inspirational images, but the first image of the three images in #7 is my favorite
Glad you enjoyed!
My favourite? Number 3. The depth in this photo is incredible. [Harris & Lewis? coloured preferred]
Photos 5, 8 and 9 stand out to me. But there was something about 5 that held my attention. I loved the soft green colour and the 3 small falls really drew my attention. Thanks for sharing.
As always excellent pictures but my fav of all is #8, also 1 first edition, 3, 5 and 10, can wait for the next video enjoy and stay safe
Of your old growth images, I like the layers of trees in No.6, I like the B&W pano from Harris and I really like the Boxing Day image of the ice at Englishman River falls. Most of all I enjoyed your explorations this past year and the making of so many images. A really good 2022 to you Adam!
Cool, thanks
Thanks for sharing.I think #5 has to be my favourite too, although difficult to choose just one! 💙
Adam, all the photos are very beautiful. However my favorite one is #8, the mountain layers. Love the layers and contrast. It brings me a peaceful feeling. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work!
Stunning photos all over! It is so beautiful over there! I wish I could visit sometime :)
Great images all of them, even if I have some favourites. Drawn to trees my self so they stand out for me. 😊
Great stuff! Hard to pick just one! All the best in 2022! Be well and stay safe.
so many exceptional images - and really also love the large scale of the trees that can be hard to find and see when living in other places in the world.
I know how hard it is to get a forest composition. But you seem to find the ones that work more often. You have earned the accolades. Well done.
