I used to engage in this convo for over the slab of 2 years and now realise that they are both at the pinnacle of rap in our generation. Choosing one over the other makes it sound like the other one isn't up there with the other legends. They are both have wildly different styles that cater to widly different crowds. @@vitalgramz9554 That is so false my brother. Like the guy above you just stated, these rappers cater to different crowds so you might happen to be the crowd that rocks with dot more and you are entitled to that opinion but what kdot fans (in these debate) fail to realize is that their opinion is simply their opinion. They have the right to feel like Dot is better and Cole fans have the right to feel like Cole is better as well. It really doesn't matter though. I like both their music but kendrick is obviously the better rapper but that doesn't mean im saying cole is trash, NO ONE IS SAYING COLE IS TRASH...he is still a good rapper. I am also a jeezy fan and listen to him, just as much as cole but im not dumb enough to put him above cole as the better rapper. If you dont like kendrick just say that but kendrick is a better rapper than cole. To all cole fans you can still enjoy cole because i do all the time but to say he is better than kendrick is asinine, insane, disrespectful, stupid, odd, cringe and funny. I promise you I'm a cole fan and at a point in time a few years ago after forest hills dropped. I tried to buy tickets for me my brother to see him live because we were within walking distance of the venue but it sold out fast. We still went to see if we can sneak in but no luck. There was a guy selling tickets way higher than the original price but my brother was nice enough to help me pay and get in while he waited for me outside at a whataburger. Kendrick is better artist objectively, but if you will ask me who I listen to "more" it is J. Cole, also J. Cole has that "bigger man" persona while Kendrick have this attitude (which is understandable) that he is not a nice guy and he is not your savior. J.Cole talks to me personally while Kendrick have this hard to reach realm , matter of fact I can listen to J.Cole in any mood but listening to Kendrick requires a certain emotion or vibe/focus, you do not listen to Kendrick just for vibing and for bopping but rather you need to be IN THAT REALM and Dimension the same as him. J. Cole is more of a role model ( I do not know him personally but I think he is kinda the better man) for being simple, preaching on not fucking around, be contended, be on your own skin, empowerment, do not take drugs, (in addition be competitive but not be afraid to compliment) (like J.Cole is not a jealous man) and he lives with his words while Kendrick can be seen as hypocritical at some cases and point like take of all the designer bullshit and guess what ? he rocks with the designer bullshit now. And also Kendrick is more hostile, I do not know if it is his "style" since he know that he IS THAT GOOD, while J.Cole is the humble type that can go on any joint without being afraid but still humble (to the point that J.Cole seems "too good to be true") just look how J.Cole shouts out other rapper like they are superstars to him.

Kendrick is the greatest. His rhyming, bars, themes, wordplay, storytelling, etc, is far ahead of anyone around. In any genre. J Cole is an ok rapper. His best album is an 8/10 and most others are a 7. He makes fun music. Kendrick on the other hand has 3 or 4 albums you could put in the category of greatest albums ever made. Art at its highest forms. I have rappers I like just as much or even more, like MF DOOM, Nas, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler, Gambino, Brockhampton, etc, but as some of the highest music critics and academics have said, Kendrick will be studied and replayed for 100s of years. Something few artists can achieve. The praise he gets is far ahead of any other rapper. While still being one of the most interesting, cool, enjoyable, banging rappers and artists out there. It’s Kendrick and then everyone else. And there’s many many rappers that aren’t as popular but are far better rappers. J Cole doesn’t make the top 30 rappers today.

Kendrick it’s a legend but stop with the jcole slander. He has been on fire killing features while Kendrick Mia semi retired. Jcole clearly wants it more doing it before Kendrick don’t forget.
