- Welcome at the second event of the 2019 Marble League (MarbleLympics)!
This time the well-known Funnel Marble Race!
8 Individual marbles must survive as long as possible on this track with 12 funnels which is made with Hubelino.
NOTE: In this event, it's the intention that a marble must survive as long as possible inside this track. This is because a perfect round marble will spin longer in a funnel than a wobbly or misformed marble.

STATEMENT:
1. Heat 1 of E2 didn't restart because all athletes clearly left the starting gate (positive start).
2. Furthermore we want to rule out any allegations of a foul against Clementin: He didn't have contact with any other marble shortly after the start at all. He entered the "bottleneck" area before the first funnel last, and couldn't move forward because of the conjunction and the other marbles in front of him. In this area the first contact happened when Clementin pushed the other marbles from behind and not the other way around. A "pushback" in this area is not possible because of the steep slope.
3. To complete the event, the marble has to reach the finish of the track. Clementin was obviously not moving, which is why he would have never reached the finish to get a result. This is why he was given a "Did not finish".
Clarification: When we said "There was a livestream, so I wasn't able to redo it", we meant "There was a livestream during which Dion and Jelle made the decision not to redo the heat, which is why it hasn't been restarted.
Conditions to redo a race:
- If a marble gets stuck in the starting gate (false start).
- If more than 50% of marbles don't finish the race.
- Whenever there are technical difficulties that prevent to determine the scoring or visual recording of the event.
- Whenever we decide that the event can't be counted fairly because of other factors, that are beyond our influence like weather etc.

Thanks for the reaction. But a pushback is certainly possible on a slope when the ball in front is spinning and hitting the ball behind it. The centrifugal force can (briefly) overcome the force of going down a slope. But I'll rest my case on this incident, since you are the referee and i'm just a huge d'orangers fan. I just hope you'll watch team galactic more closely for the rest of this tournament.

Is no one gonna talk about the fact that the Raspberry Racers were the first to go into the last funnel in the final and OUT-FUNNELLED 6 other marbles with no funnel to spare and went from dead last to second!
Also were the first to drop to the 10th funnel and got first place in the first race.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Clementin on the Orangers.
You never want to see that happen to any marble with all of the training, preparation, and focus that goes into this level of competition. Hopefully they'll make a full recovery and we'll see them again in 2020!

Between the Oranger’s and the Portland Timbers (MLS), it’s been a tough start for my favorite teams this year. Debating jumping ship and rooting for the Green Ducks, always liked an underdog.
The thing that hurts most is that i had a feeling we were going to have a great showing.

Underrated comment
The Funnel Spin isn't a slow event tho, it's all about tactics, balance and finesse, and even more importantly, keeping your momentum. Speed helps you go longer, and anyone rolling slow is at great risk of being knocked down by any other marble.

Speeders have always been poor in this category, if you watch the previous ML they always finish fast and always last

I remember first time i saw one of these videos I was like, "wait, this is a thing? who would watch this? " now, like you, cheering Raspberry on, Great finish. Razzy holding on forever in that last funnel, to bring home Silver.
Raspberry racers are overrated. Get on my level.
Razzy just put out one of the best performance of all time in these two events. That was crazy. Get back from last place in both events one in the 10th funnel the second in the 12th and winning one almost winning the second one. I've never seen anything like this. Even the Patriots comeback against the Falcons wasn't that great.
Honestly, I feel like the Raspberry Racers are often underrated.

Last year I was watching the marblelympics and at the end of ice hockey the Oceanics were in first and I went crazy, I thought they won, but it turned out there was another event left and then we lost

Razzy stays in funnel 10 from 1:13 - 1:56 (timestamp in video 4:16). Started as lowest, ended highest. What an amazing clutch to get that 1st in the heat.
Dropped into the last funnel first out of anyone in the finals. Sticks it out from 1:32 (timestamp in video 7:36) all the way until the last marble gets there. Drops at 2:07. Amazing performance from Razzy, absolute masterclass. Couple shakey funnels, but did a great job at staying in funnels for around 40 seconds.

Aghhhh... Come on Team Galactic. That was a roller coaster. Started losing... was able to hold into funnel 7 and 8, until it got to be on the lead with Savage Speeders... Than dropped quickly finishing in 6th. What a event.
PHENOMENAL performance by Razzy on the final! She was pushed down to the last funnel and held on for more than 30 SECONDS, battling SIX other marbles and getting them to finish before her! An extremely well deserved silver medal. That type of determination and focus is exactly what I come to the MarbleLympics to see.
The Raspberry Racers put in an amazing showing with great strength and determination. It wasn't looking like they'd get into the final and then finish on the podium but wow. Well done to them on silver, fantastic racing.

Hey I was a Speeders fan BEFORE it was cool. My father was a Speeders fan through and through too. I remember, we never had much money but Dad always managed to save enough from his job as a tester at the comedy rubber nose factory to buy us cheap immitation black-market marbleympics merch for xmas every other year. My father's father was a Speeders fan back when they were just called the Savages. He lost his leg in a bar-room brawl with a Limer's coach. He won the fight though. I'm noticing a "Hazers choke at the end" trend surfacing. I don't like it, not one bit.
Probably one of the best performances in ML history by the Raspberry Racers in the final. They were the first marble to enter the final funnel and outlasted six other marbles to grab a well earned silver. They entered that funnel at 1:32.57 and lasted until 2:06.68. Just incredible.

And this is why the Savage Speeders have earned their name:
1: By maintaining so much speed that they don't fall down the chutes.
2: By savagely pushing down Foggy (at 7:58), who may have been knocked unconcious by that attack; which would explain why they didn't have anything to give against Razzy. I'm slightly surprised the Hazers didn't lodge an official protest at this treatment.
They may not be gentleme--- gentlemarbles, but they are definitely playing to win.

in both races they were last in one of the bottom funnel, that final was a rollercoaster, they started first then last in the 12th funnel then they stayed there forever. Definitely deserved the gold.
