That goal was set too low, 1000$ is not going to cover anything, his family probably didn't have the knowledge on how to make a gofundme and people might not give anymore since they already "reached" the goal, without health insurance the bill would be hundreds of thousands of dollars.

@@santrichuumonster Agreed 10k in the US is not much when it comes to medical bills. I work at an insurance company and that 10k would probably be ok if he was covered under a policy, but since he has no coverage the hospital is going to send him a hefty bill and I can assure you it will be more than 10k. Hell if he needed the ambulance transport that can eat up 10k. (I am not joking I've seen what ambulances bill and it is insane)

I am lucky that I have made some great friends on YT and other platforms. But Ive been there. 500k in medical bills, bankruptcy after that, due to 30 days in the ICU after intestinal cancer.
I beat it. Hurray. Then, brain tumor. A year after, somebody cuts me off while Im driving and bam, broken neck, bi level fusion. A year after, rear ended while stopped, so add broken back.
And finally, get ok enough to work out a bit...heart attack. So, I get it.
If you read this, whatever sympathy you have, give it to Johnny. Its not about me, not here, not now. But, Im ok, stable, and not swallowed by debt. So help this dude out. Dont know him, dont think I ever watched a video of his, but Im here now.

I'm surprised by the fact that you're still breathing, I've seen people go for far less than that, and holy crap, America's health care system sucks bad, I'm glad that I've never spent a single cent on healthcare since in my country it's 100% free (if you work or study) and because my body hasn't played any funny business inside me, at least for now. The fact that Americans scream that it is the greatest country in the world and has to beg people if they get sick is very sad. My sister had a brain surgery in Hong Kong, all we spend is my plane ticket and my hotel and food to visit her, she does not have hospital and medical bills. My uncle in Germany had heart surgery, no hospital bill. Everything is covered. Americans scream they are the greatest country - always beg for money if they get sick. It is humiliating.

Insurance itself is a scam. Just by admitting you have it, they give the staff a gag-order and refuse to tell you price information.

Something I’ve noticed is that people who are into darker stuff, like metal or true crime in this case, are more often than not the kindest and nicest people you’ll ever met. Hope he recovers!
Yeah and sometimes people who seem more into wholesome stuff are the creepiest, I just heard of a youtuber who reviewed toys and stuff murder his pregnant girlfriend.

As sad as this is I think that what is more sad is that this needs to be done in the first place. For every Jonny there are thousand upon thousands of Americans that don't have a following to crowd fund from. As a Canadian it's baffling to hear about people dying because they simply can't afford to live. Hopefully he gets better but this shouldn't need to happen.

Thank you so much for making this video . As someone who's recently diagnosed with cancer I know how absolutely hard and painful this can be . Having cancer and having no way of being able to pay for treatment is one of the scariest things on the planet.so I have personally decided to use the rest of my remaining life making things for people who do good things I the world . i am an australian we have free health care here, it disguists me how awful it is over there health care is a human right.

Edit: I just watched the video and I’m so touched, I wish I was in a situation to donate. But I’m prayers go out to the family and friends of Morbid Curiosity.
I was only 8 when I got sick in 2016. But it wasn’t your usual kind of sick. It was something way worse than that. It was pneumonia, just like Jonny’s having, and it was so bad I had to be hospitalized for an entire month straight. I almost died.
So seeing someone else face the same thing is indescribably heartbreaking.
I did make it thankfully, and I’m really hoping Jonny can do the same……

Something that has disheartened me a little is the realization that as time goes on, more of our favorite content creators will go through this, and like techniblade (RIP), not all will make it through. I will absolutely donate to this deserving gofundme. The world needs kind and helpful individuals such as John. My brother had the exact same health condition recently and is lucky to be with us, although he has permanent damage to his lungs thanks to the blood clots. Thankfully we live in Australia and all treatments are free.
Australia is famous for having no freedom of speech and famous for rounding up the indigenous into camps over the sniffles. Famous for arresting a pregnant mom for making a FB post. The very blood clots he has, all of Australia forced into the school kids without parents consent.

It's easier than you think, i thought i was just sick and resting i would be fine, ended up in the hospital with 1 and half lungs full of fluid and hours from death. I thankfully live in the uk so medical bills wasn't an issue.

Another way why the US should fight for affordable healthcare. As sad as this is neither he nor his family should worry about finances in this situation. It is good that he has such a large and supporting community but many people don't have this. When they die they are not only leaving their family with grief but also an unbearable amount of debt and this is wrong.
You'll never get affordable healthcare in the US if you keep voting for establishment politicians that are working hand in hand with Big Pharma. Insulin is the best example of this. The high cost of insulin in the US is due to the fact that only 3 companies are allowed to manufacture and/or import insulin. Private companies could go to Canada, buy insulin on the cheap, and sell it in the US for much lower prices, but legislation passed by the government makes that illegal. And so those 3 companies have a government mandate to dictate the price of insulin.

If you think universal healthcare is great, have a look at the UK. In the US you may end up in debt, but at least you'll be alive and you'll be taken care of. In the UK you will be lucky to get an ambulance to come to you, but hey, at least it'll be for free.

i just checked the gofundme and it seems he is out of the hospital but i dont want to spread misinformation so i hope i understood the mesasages correctly. I have been watching jonny for a very long time and i love the content but i couldnt help unfortunatley dont have personal money so i only could have spred the word. If he is still hospitalised after 2 months i wish him well, in or out of hospital.
