    • @Adelaide_Cuthbert
      @Adelaide_Cuthbert 5 месяцев назад +13

      As someone who had a controlling and overreactive mother, I can pretty much guarantee it's because he was always getting punishments like that. It was the norm, so it becomes hard to separate which "grounding" instance from another. Mine was in the form of isolation and constant surveillance. I can't remember a clear amount of time where I wasn't grounded, even though I'd go months trying to fly under the radar and please my mother. She'd just always be angry about something, no matter what I said or did. So I eventually stopped caring and found ways to have freedom behind her back. I guess the "teenage rebellion" phase times 10. While it's sad their lives were broadcasted for the world to poke our noses into, it makes me happy that things like this get talked about. Because unless it's witnessed to this degree, you really will have people that say "kids these days are just entitled snowflakes", stuff saying the abuse is valid parenting, and even the dreaded "but they're your parents, you should forgive them and not cut them off". It's so important not to excuse this behaviour.

    Fun fact about bean bags. I am a nurse and we had an issue with confused elderly people falling out of their chairs or beds. In fact, falls have one of the highest mortality rates in hospitals. So we started sitting them in beanbags because number one the hard to get out of number two if they fall they just roll to the ground but it was deemed to be cruel and unusual. So now they’re just falling out of beds and chairs, and we’re having to restrain them which is awful and before people lose their minds and say just watch them understand that in a nursing home often it’s one nurse 30 patients

    The problem with the whole Gracie lunch thing isn't that she wasn't going to bring the girl her lunch. It was that she didn't want anyone to give the girl food. She wanted to starve the girl as a punishment. As a kid both of my parents worked. If I forgot my lunch I went hungry or I found food from my friends. That was a good lesson to learn. How to find food when you'd forgotten to bring any. But starving a child is abuse. And what she tried to do was starve the child and we now know she literally starved her children. People picked the wrong thing to be upset about with that.

    I think you missed the mark on Kevin. He was there for all the family vlogging, so he obviously agreed with Ruby’s parenting style, and he was even a part of connexions for quite awhile. He’s as guilty as Ruby and Jodi. His lawyer can try to spin Kevin as a victim all he wants, but the internet never forgets past actions no matter how badly someone may want it to. It doesn’t help matters that he wanted the police to charge his daughter for breaking and entering plus theft - all because she came into the home and gathered up her siblings’ clothes and other necessities. Apparently Kevin was miffed that the police refused to entertain that nonsense. He’s a real hero of a father.

Two were found in the home of the Connections Foundation CEO doing unpaid *slave labor* for her hundreds of miles from their home. Fortunately, police came to rescue the children. I can kinda get behind the "not bringing a kid their lunch if they forget it" thing, but definitely not at that age. Like, I would start giving my kid some independence at 13 by beginning to give them responsibilities like making their own lunch, and letting them deal with the consequences if they make mistakes like that. But a 6 year old? Nah, that's WAY too young, because they still have barely any concept of responsibility at that age, so that's unacceptable. Same goes for the teenage son being barred from his own bedroom, because taking that way from him at that age when he needs privacy is just unnecessarily cruel.

Also I had just gotten my phone back the day before, it had been taken away for something else cleaning related too for a few months at that point already. I also once had to clean the ENTIRE carport, basically a garage without a garage door if you don't know what that is, and our carport was completely filled with all kinds of bullshit. That was the only thing I did for 2-3 days after school and I don't even remember what I was being punished for, it most certainly wasn't anything that warranted that punishment. So when I see that kid talk about how he was sleeping on a beanbag for 7 months it's not hard for me to understand that his parents were just like my stepdad growing up, very in need of being in control at all times over everything. So first off, let's set aside the fact that the mom thinks that her 6 year old daughter forgetting to pack a lunch means that she deserves to go hungry for the rest of the day (even though that could impact her child's health and performance in school)
    It would be one thing if the mom said "my daughter needs to know that her actions have consequences; if she forgot to pack a lunch, then she has to deal with the consequences of going hungry." But it's another thing to go even further and say "I sincerely hope that no one gives her food or otherwise does anything to prevent her from going hungry," because at that point she's getting dangerously close to crossing a line into sadism. If one of her daughter's friends didn't bring a lunch to school and went hungry, would she hope that that child goes hungry, too? Would she scold or punish her daughter for trying to share her lunch with that child, because she doesn't believe that kid deserves a handout? That's not very Christian of her.

    Lol at all of the people saying "Sunnyv2 just uploaded a video on this!" as if it only took IA a day and a half to make this video. He had likely been working on it for several days before Sunny released his video. Do you just expect him to delete all of his work after another creator uploads a video in the same topic?

    When I was in elementary school and forgot my lunch, my mom never dropped anything off and I just played it like it was all cool, trying to hide that I would get yelled at severely if she found out. When I was in charge of my sister, I made sure she had a lunch everyday and if she forgot, I would go and drop it. She's a lot more normal than I am. I kinda wish I was as normal as her.

    The title’s wrong. Onision still happened, I’m sorry to say.
    Also Creep(showart) and now Colleen Bailinger and IIIluminaughtIII are still waiting in line until Onision stops having happened.
    …and a whole boatload of creepy dudes…
    And…
    Well get in line is what I’m saying.

    My wife is a teacher and they are what are called “mandatory reporters” meaning that if they hear something from anyone that rings alarm bells in their minds, they need to report it or else they could be fired. That comment about not giving her children food after they forgot should have been reported.
