  • Join me on my 688 mile, six night & seven day solo ATV overland adventure ride of the Arizona Peace Trail.
The Arizona peace Trail is a approximately 675 mile loop trail system located on the western side of the beautiful state of Arizona. The AZPT passes through or near many small towns and there are hundreds of miles of side trails that connect up with the AZPT along the way.

On day-3 my plan was to head north up through the Hualapai mountains and go visit the Gold King Mansion then continue on to Kingman where I would refuel and resupply. After refueling in Kingman my plan was to head towards the Black Mountain's just inside of segment 34 where I would find a place to set up camp for the night. How ever as I am packing up camp the winds and rain begin. I decide to wait out the rain at camp before getting on trail. After getting on trail the weather begins to get nasty again. Rain and high winds begin to come upon me and even some light snow. I decide to not go up through the Hualapai mountains and risk being caught in a storm on the mountain. I spend the day running from the rain and wind in the lower elevation. It was a crazy adventurous day and I had so much fun! The views coming out of segment five definitely did not disappoint.

Dude what a great video. This section of the trail was beautiful, especially midways through with all the clouds and views down into the canyon. I love views where you can look back on what you drove through or what is ahead. That was a lucky patch of snow.

I think I may have missed it on your first video, but what month did you do this trip? You’ve motivated me to do this trip too! I’ve started planning and I’m really excited. Where did you get your paper map?

I did this trip the third week of March. I got the paper map from the Arizona Peace Trail Atlas book. That map is not real accurate as the trail has changed route of few times. The book is definitely more like a guide book to the trail and has a lot of useful information. You can get that at arizonapeacetrail.org. I would definitely recommend joining the Arizona Peace Trail Facebook group. They have the most current GPX file of the trail there under the files tab. I uploaded it to my Garmin GPS and the Gaia app and I didn't have any issues with navagating the trail. I hope you have a safe and wonderful experience out on the AZPT.

@@SouthwestATVAdventures Awesome thank you! I joined the Facebook group and they’ve already been super helpful! Did that seem like a good time go for camping? Seems like you had a mix of hot and cold (but not too cold) weather.

Right on 🤙The folks in the group are awesome for sure. It was perfect for camping!! The direct sun was a little warm during the day at times. But the actual temperature was nice when I was riding. It would get down to the upper 30's low 40's at night wich to me was perfect for sleeping. The next time I go though I would go a little earlier, like in February.

When you talk when your tent is set up, you need a muff on your Mike as when the wind is blowing we can hardly hear you and it's very difficult to hear what you are saying. Makes you want to find a quiteter video. Otherwise very interesting trip.

Thank you for your feedback. I realized that as well and have taken steps to improve that in my future videos. Thank you for watching!
