hi i have a doubt that if there is Tt then it is heterozygous but the question is that the plant will be short or tall as (T represents tall tree) & ( t represents short tree) so, Tt represents what , tall tree or short tree?
Because the mature pollen grains consists of two cells - vegetative and generative cell , and in about 60% of angiosperms, pollen grains are shed at this 2 celled stage while in the other 40% angiosperms generative cells divide mitotically to form 2 male gametes before the pollen grains are shed and in those 60% pollen grains the generative cell divides when pollen passes through the pollen tube... So when the pollen grain lands on the stigma and is carried by the pollen tube then one of the male gamete fuses with the egg that we call as syngamy and the other male gamete fuses with the two polar nuclei forming primary endosperm nucleus and this fusion is called triple fusion, so because of these two fusions mtlb ki syngamy and triple fusion it's called double fertilisation.
