Thank you! I just a bought the SM9 Olympia a few weeks ago and I was happy to see all the information you explained in this video. I especially liked you showing the tension lever makes hitting the keys so much easier and making typing much more fun!

This was an awesome video! I just picked up an SM9 and didn't know about some of the features, particularly with the line drawing and tab set mechanisms.

The fact is... above all else, your videos significantly influenced my decision to purchase a beautiful 1966 Olympia SM-9.
After getting it home, I fine-tuned the tolerances of the carriage rail, as the rollers inside were a little loose (allowing for up-and-down play of the carriage), so I readjusted the screws on both ends of the front rail, allowing for it to work perfectly, and no longer skip a space every so often.
Thanks for helping me with my decision to buy this typewriter, as it is a truly marvelous machine, and I love every aspect of it! I will continue to watch your videos, as yours is definitely the "go-to" channel on RUclips!

Would you consider making a tutorial video for the Olivetti Studio 44 typewriter?

Thanks for the video! What can a large standard desktop typewriter of the same era do that my 1967 wide-carriage Olympia MS9 can't do? BTW, learning the classic 8-finger typing technique will open a whole new world of pleasure for you with your machines.

I know you recommend models before 1970. I just found a 1972 in great shape for a good price. Worth it? Can you specify some of the differences? THANKS, this is so helpful and you helped me in your top 10 video to find my way to this Olympia Sm9 in the first place. I'm so excited.

Later models had the plastic main springs and tab setting wasn’t well made. It was so fragile.

I followed this but my lettern are not flying high enough to touch the paper. So I can’t write anything. Is there a way to readjust this so it works again? 🫣
