I been using a 7mm08 for 25 years its accuracy and light recoil is awesome and it drt deer for me every year. 10 yards to 450 you will not be disappointed
Thanks for the 7mm 08 review. This round is a favorite of mine. I have this in a Savage Axis, have an old M93 Mauser in 7x57 and I'm a previous owner of a 7mm Rem Magnum Remington 700.
I have had the bolt pop open from brush catching it while hunting on more than one occasion with a Remington 700. And agree with the three position bolt locking type safety feature.
The 7-08 is an awsome cartridge and a real sleeper. For hunting it's superior to the 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor and will chase along with the 30-06, all without beating the snot out of yourself every time you fire it.
I have the same gun and scope with the exception being my scope is the 2.5-8x36 3i. I have had mine a couple years. I do like the 1-8 twist. Only thing i would change is a smaller palm swell like a Kimber. It's a little thick for my taste but overall i like the gun. My other main rifle is a 700 LSS in 30-06. I run a Zeiss Conquest on it.
Looked like a really neat rifle until I saw the price LOL Someone asking about the accuracy of the 7mm08 should watch my video "7mm08 Hole in One" starting at the 1123 time stamp Two bullets in the same hole then a hole in one was a nice video to finally catch it in the act as to just how accurate it is Of course that is an old 1992 Browning A Bolt but then I have never heard of any 7mm08 that was not accurate like that which is why I got a 7mm08 bvideo
I’ve been so covered up at work recently I haven’t had a chance to film any content or have any range sessions, but I do plan to do more accuracy testing in the future. I will post up the videos once I have had a chance to do so.
The problem I am having making a decision about a 7mm-08 or .306, or 6.5 CM is lack of factory ammo for the 7mm-08. Walmart has one box of 7mm-08 vs 6 or 7 different boxes for the other two. Even online it is the same situation. Should i just go with the .308? If you go with heavier bullets in the 7mm-08 there really shouldn't be much difference in recoil with a .308 - correct?
Midway USA has 30 different offerings of 7mm-08 right now. Plus Cabelas, bass pro, target sports USA, outdoor limited. There are many many types of factory ammo available online. Don’t give your money to Walmart. As far as recoil goes it will likely be slightly more still with 150/308 vs 150 7mm 08. Bullet diameter itself does tend to cause slight increases in recoil even with equal weight.
311hitwall well above all else they destroy small businesses everywhere they go, and have a long history of paying workers poorly and treating them poorly. So they move into town, out price small businesses with cheap goods made overseas and then hire those people who lose their companies and treat them and pay them poorly. After that, they have now decided they will not distribute or sell any “scary” ammo that can be used in “scary” guns to hurt people. If you notice 9mm, 45, 5.56 etc is is now gone that’s why. It’s stupid easy to buy ammo online from companies that don’t do that.
@@dangerranger4323 Yeah seems like I noticed the other day that Walmart didn't have any 9mm ammo. Stupid companies. The only thing scary about certain ammo and guns is when idiots like Antifa and other idiots use them.
I guess when you pay the price for a rifle like that u can afford the ammo as well... 07-08 Rem is a great round but it is a very expensive caliber.. I stick to my Ruger American on .308 Winchester.. accurate, deadly and around $1100.00 cheaper
Frank Soto I’ve mainly hunted with my Remy 700 .308’s and a Ruger American chambered in .30-06 in recent years. They do the job very well and quality factory ammo tends to average $1.00-2.50 per round. So far the various .7mm-08 ammo I’ve purchased has been in the same range, but it’s not as readily available at some smaller shops like the old faithful calibers tend to be.
Frank Soto the ammo for a 7mm-08 is not expensive at all. same price as the 308-7mm-270 at Cabela's. I just bought a Ruger American 7mm-08 camo synthetic stock for $500.00 I did buy 3 boxes of most expensive ammo i could find for hunting
7mm-08 is as good as the 7 x 57 ever was in a short action. Brain an elephant with 160 grain solid bullets or use a 160 Nosler Partition bullet for everything else. Or a 140 grain TTX solid copper Barnes for long range shots.

Thank you for not doing a review on a 6.5 CM, sick of those!!!

Nice rifle I hunt with a browning blr light weight 7mm-08 and a ruger no1 7mm Remington magnum, I love 7mm...
That is a solid choice in both rifle and cartridge. A modernized
7 X 57 that itself has proven useful from brained elephants to deer and varmint.
Dude your land is gorgeous, thanks for review on the fieldcraft
mogrimy thanks!
Love the 7mm-08 round.
Let’s see a short video of the accuracy? Maybe 100yrd out to 4?

Great review on a great rifle/caliber

That rifle is about as good as it gets. Only thing I would prefer different is the 2.5 x 8 Leupold scope over the 3.5 x 10.
Would you let this set up go? Been trying to get one for the longest can’t find it anywhere.
Dang bud I didn't know you had a youtube it's good to see you on here its eddie by the way
What county are you in?
Can we get another video on your rifle and maybe see some groups out of it see how it performs?

You’ve had the Barrett for ~4 years now, updates?
Can we get an update video showing accuracy with it
I plan to do one in the near future when I get a chance to get to the range and film some more content.
@@alwayscarry45 sell me this setup?
I ve seen a rem 700 .260rem the bolt handle broke.
My favorite caliber.....
I just bought one i love it . and im in Washington I grew up in North Georgia
Dang there’s a lot of corona there
What's the cost ?
Mitch Baumann depends on the pricing at your local shop, but they average $1650-1800 at most places.
