Kenny Garret and Roy Hargrove, what a killin' horn front line.
Herbie my man 82 years and Pete 87 years, still on fire!!!!
Herbie's Solo........he's still there.......always on fire.........as i know him since the sixties as he was in Miles' Quintett!!!
Love that the band is so stacked Marcus Miller on bass isn't in the title
Right?? Sheila E. On the percussion and John Scofield on guitar as well lol.
The first thing I noticed was Marcus on bass. Went back to check the title as I didn't see him listed.
Terri Lynn ain't there either but it's an old video
Yeah. I saw Terri Lynn back there but not in the title line up and was like “what?”
also , Tony Bennett plays percussions and no one cares …
I been listening to Herbie since I was five years old
Awesome, Rest in God's Hands Roy ......
RIP Roy Hargrove.
I have been listening to Herbie Hancock since, I was 7. You Rock.
This has to be the funkiest thing I ever heard. love the horn section of kenny Garrett + the one and only roy Hargrove + the escovedo's 😮❤ + Sco + herbie. Simply incredible
rest in peace Hargrove
Roy!! 💖
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment, Amy!
For the first time, Miller's bass, is not louder than all the band sound !! MIRACLE!
Great performance!! Great all star band !! Rip hargrove ! 👏🏾✨✨✨🎶
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment!
I´m sorry, i can´t press the like button more than one time. Great. Please, the full concert...
So glad you enjoyed it! Wish we could post the full concert, but as consolation there are plenty of other clips from 2014 on the channel.
Some music's so right, jus' walk you right home...
Marcus , so in the groove. He’s the man! Herbie awesome as always. The real music from above!
Whew! Man I am astonished
A classic gathering!
My girl Sheila E!
She always kills. No exception here.
Just sit back and let the professionals do their thang! 🌋
All that talent that play in unison without ego. Masterful! Sheila E rocks the best under pressure. She still got it...kick ass...
Wow is nice to see women in the band
Lots of talent on stage. Pete & Shelia Escovedo... Reminds me of the old days at 'Escovedo's' in Oakland.
Agreed! Glad you enjoyed.
Thanks for sharing! Sheila E, Miller always get there licks in no matter who's around! Saw her go off with Prince many years ago!
Quintessential definition of Allstars!!
huge applause
Not forgetting Terri-Lynne Carrington 🥁👏🏾
Indeed! We love Terri Lyne!
@@Jazzday I remember when she toured in the last 80's for Wayne Shorter with the great female percussionist Marilyn Mazur!! The drummer and the percussionist were simply out of this world!
yes, yes, YES ! Marcus Miller !
Roy Hargrove man
Agreed!
Awesome!
It makes me appreciate the original version and lineup that much more. These are some of the best (and my favorite) musicians on the planet, including the guy who wrote the song and they still can't touch the original by a long shot. The headhunters set the bar very very high.
Amazing!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Amen to this !!!
Crazy great ❤
John Scofield will always being a legend in my book for the appearing in Jaco's video , all those years ago.
...band superlativa❤🙏🕺🕺🕺
Thanks so much Vittorio!
Uber cool.
Great playing.A fantastic version of an old Jazz Rock standard.
Cheers.
Thanks for watching, Steve, and glad you enjoyed!
Talk about a super group……WOW!
Tonny Bennett on congas, great!
Pete escovedos on congas...not Tony bennet, my friend...

Astounding amount of talent!! Terri Lyne on drums!!! I so wish I could have seen Roy...he has become one of my all time favs!
Thanks so much!
Finest Jazz Funk. Love this stuff though I'm a Metalhead for decades.
Sensacional!!!! Jazz puro.
"Чистый джаз" = фьюжн, фанк...😊
The amount of talent on that stage is amazing. Herbie's solo is wonderful to listen . Everyone seems to be having a great time on stage..good sound and filming...is that a back lit pagoda at the very end ? Maybe recorded in Japan. Wish we could hear more but am grateful to see this clip. Thanks for putting this up.
Thanks, Dana! Yes, this performance was recorded at the International Jazz Day 2014 All-Star Global Concert in Osaka, Japan, at the historic Osaka Castle Park. Check out the rest of our channel when you get a chance-there's lots more where that came from!
Waa is M
Magnificent.
Thanks for your kind comment, Gady!
Is there anybody hipper than Herbie?
I dont care whos mentioned In the titles..I dont feel sorry for Humans that Do not understand the magnitude of this Amazing lineup..For instance who the young lady on the Drums holding her own with at least 200 hundred years of musical knowledge on stage..Shit it might be 300 years combined. I LOVE JAZZ
Thanks for watching and for your kind words, George!
And MARCUS MILLER.
I was so pleasantly surprised to hear all of the clutter stop when it became time for Herbie to play his masterful solo at the end. Everyone just stopped and let Herbie do what Herbie does and stayed the hell out of his way. Loved it!
Thanks for watching, jazzyeric21!
Agreed - what’s with all the brass?
Clutter? Seriously? Wow...
@@kincrawford5906 amazing players and I am a fan of ALL of them... but you have to admit at times, the groove got slightly......'untidy'?
@@abulka The brass is all good to me!!!
Where’s the full show. This is great !
While we can't post the full show due to copyright restrictions, please check out the rest of our channel-lots more from the 2014 show there plus other editions!
Simply amazing
great job and thanks for brining in the horns too
Just several notes from Scofield but what a groove
like that time he played the "Sunny" riff on repeat for 15 mins
I remember when Sheila E. was the drummer of Prince in the 80s. 🥰
Yep! She’s not as great and skillful of a drummer as Terri Lynne!
special... perfect... special...
Thanks for watching!
Brutals ❤
Ooooooh.... soooo good.

Thanks for your kind comment!

Happening!!
Agreed! Thanks bob!
🎉❤
And Marcus Miller on base!
The original drummer on this song was Mike Clark! Studio version.
Somehow the original feel is not coming out in this one. Sad.
🤩😀😍💜🙏🏿👊🏿👊🏿
❤ 😍 ✌ ☮ 🕊 🌎
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment, David!
"We just like it here 🎶 I think we'll hang around " Snarky Puppy ... Can you hear it ?
boommm
Glad you enjoyed!
And Terry Linn ?
MILES
No slap Marcus? First time a listen a complete song with him.
wtf is this mix lol!!!! A lot of different musicians I knew on the same scenario!! What a crossover!
oh my days at howard u...by the way kamala my fellow alumni
Ah dam, that was an insane line up. Wish I could have seen that show.
Too much talent for all to be heard individually
Great performance from all, but I didn't like the mix at all. Horns are too loud for me and Marcus and John should definitely be louder!
Shelia E, TERI LYNN CARRINGTON BAD 🥁 SECTION!
OMG, I've been reading past comments, and NO ONE HAS MENTIONED "SHEILA E" IS PETE ESCOVEDO'S DAUGHTER!!!
Where did you all think she got her initiation?
At Pete's knee!
He's Santana's old percussionist!
Is that Tito Puente?
Terry llymn Carrington drums
One of the greatest!
That’s Kenny Garrett on alto
Scofield with tie 😂
"the children of Miles Davis"
Great musicians all, but a lacklustre performance. Poor onstage monitoring?
Percussion section. None better.
I really feel John Scofield was not in the pocket for a great part of this jam.
Sorry you didn't enjoy the performance, Lionel!

Life is very beautiful when diversity is infused and a main goal is collaborated on. The world is much bigger than racism. We ask God to rid the earth of these racist individuals who have their hands on the success of minorities. May God Bless you and you all keep the faith and good music coming (skillfully).
Herbie mad troublesome with them chords! He's like the kid having fun by himself in a group!
