Very informative video! The Terrain with Labels shows LIDAR images. These were taken from space and shows the land without the vegetation. It's the best way to find areas that have been worked on previously, as you showed. Sometimes you can see mine pits that were dug by hand and can draw a line between them to find a likely vein.
Yes, you are right! I absolutely love to trace the lode from space! Using LIDAR is like having x ray vision and every prospector can benefit from it. Thanks for the comment and may the Au be with you! -Ma
@@MinerMaGold The very best video and only video I have seen explaining how to use BLM web page. I hear talk about all the websites but you're the first person to break it down so I am sure a lot of prospectors are saying Thank you Ma Prospector! 👍
Thanks for making these videos!!! I'm VERY new to prospecting and the algorithm decided to show me one of your videos. I'm thankful! Very practical, and valuable content. I'm looking forward to learning more via your videos and someday possibly filing my first claim! Jai MA!
You are so welcome. Pm me on my Facebook if you have questions. I research mining claims for free if you need help. ( some people donate a $20 nugget to my treasure hunt, but it’s not necessary). I am all about helping people to learn about mining! Welcome to the #GOLDFAMILY !
I’ve been trying to figure some of this stuff out for a while now just wanted to thank you for sharing this very great information!! God Bless good luck on your future adventures 💯🙏🏻
Oh thanks! Yes, LIDAR is an amazing tool, I actually did a RUclips on it for prospecting. I use it all the time. Thanks for the tip about the article. I’ll have to see if it’s in my mail. May the Au be with you.
Love this! Great video about claims. I'm from Florida, but currently in Placerville, CA., prospecting some GPAA claims. I'm on the 1 month road trip, prospecting AZ, NV, and CA. Someone told me Mariposa is a good place for prospecting. I would love to talk with you more about finding and filing claims, if there is anyway to chat with you about it. Would really appreciated it, as it looks like your really experienced with claims. Scott.
I think you can tweak it even more for exact locations you'll need when filing that mining claim? each one of those sqaures can be broken to 1/4's kinda not remembering all you need but def need 4 corner post locals.
Hi Vinivv. I hope you are well. You are correct that you could drill in closer, usually you can go to the county for a map, or call blm for a map. Good seeing you here. Have a great day. -Tam
@@MichaelFazio zoom all the way in, write down the claim number then go to your county office and request it, also you can call blm and they will email you the map on file for each claim. It’s important to do this because blm usually shows way over the amount a person has. That way you may find some open land! Good luck!
Wish I had this when I grew up in El Do Co. The Sierra's were my backyard. I still have a 4 gram I picked up off the ground on the American in the early 90s. Show me the nuggets!!
So I'm looking on this site and I see one large area boxed in that has 3 placer claims on it, the claim numbers move when I zoom in and out, how do I know where exactly they claimed? Can multiple people claim the same large area? I'm confused as to why there's different claims right next to each other.
If you are zoomed all the way in, that’s the way to view. So most claims start at 20 acres and blm blocks out a whole square area. So yes, multiple pet can have an area. Also, hopefully you hit the active button and in clicked the closed button. (If you have 2 colors you have them both marked) if write down the numbers you can call blm and ask for the maps of each one. Sounds like you are looking in a great area. Please reach out on my Facebook messenger if you need any more help. May the Au be with you! -Ma
In regards to the BLM map. Near the bottom left are the coordinates where the pointer is located. I copied the coordinates and pasted them into Google Earth. Google Earth would not recognize the coordinates. Also, Google maps. What is the problem? Any ideas? Please let me know. Thank You.
@@HurleyDeanSandpointIdaho so I would put that into a long lat converter and try to replug it into Google earth. Also, if you hit the identify button and click the tiny arrow in the box it will give you the township range and section, that is also another way of getting the proper location. Hit me up if you have any more questions.
Yes, if you click on the box it will say searching and if you hit the little side arrow on the searching box it will list all of the claims. You can also just search current claims as well.
I am not yet, but I want to be. We saw them at the Quartzsite gold show but only had one day there and I was doing the metal detecting hunt with the folks at PLP. Just tried it. The site says the layer containing mining data cannot be added.
Yes, mlrs is also down… I am hoping that it is temporary. Otherwise no one can see their own claims.
Awesome. Is there a similar that could be use for France? 😀

Do you have maps like that for Ireland
Sorry I don’t, I really wish I did.
Apparently there are no mining claims in Tennessee on this website?!?
Sorry about that. They must run a version of their own.
The site you show doesn't start with a map, it starts with links.
I'm not sure if they updated the site or what but its not this!

No colors or info from pa map. Why?
I am not sure, sometimes you need to zoom all the way in, sometimes you need a different server. Like chrome doesn’t really work well.
Thanks Ma. I'll give it a try with another server.
