Thanks for speaking out on this subject Shirlie. Many of us out there suffering from it. Years of trying to find out what was going on, including seeing a specialist who told me to learn how to unthink the pain I was feeling as I was imagining it! So lucky to have Martin there supporting you and you stuck together through it. Sending you and your loveiy family all the best.
Thank you shirlie kemp.this made me cry as everything said is my experience, minus the babies. People have no idea the agony of periods with endometriosis. I found miscarriages less painful,so that resonated with your birthing story.we need this made public so something can b done
@@mandyedwards-holisticlifec3050 no,it isn't as I went into early menopause but still in agony .I know my insides are all glued together as last surgery they tried to cut and burn through it. I'm grateful not to have periods now tho as they wrecked my life in many ways
I have suffered for over 30 years with out of body pain, taken morphine and gets you to a 10/10 pain to try to cope, but i coudn't have one child even so i see this as we are in an even worse group than Shirlie but of course my heart goes out to her for the chronic pain but when you couldn't have children on top that is the cruelest level of endometriosis IV which is my circumstances and it devasting as for over 30 years i've just worked very long hours covering women with kids as you become the scape goat and you get older and realise the endo is so severe you will never have a natural child in this life
I never had pain when I had a period, maybe once in a blue moon. I only found out I had endometriosis when I tried for a baby. Whilst investigating my fertility I met a wonderful consultant on the nhs who operated on me to remove the endometriosis at the time & went on to have two wonderful sons naturally. I had hoped for more children but it never happened but I also never suffered with any pain & am extremely thankful for my sons.
@@Rise-and-Shine333 people with hysterectomys still have endometriosis . There is no cure. Especially if they are given hrt. It will just get worse again.
It’s only so much better if you have private healthcare at the moment. I belong to menopause support uk, and fibroids UK and from what I am reading women are still suffering with very little support from the NHS, GP’s are very difficult to navigate.
I suffered with endometriosis, I used to go to bed, with a hot water bottle, the doctor just ignored my problems, gave me pain relief, I ended up on the pill unfortunately, It didn't suite me, I ended up with a pulmonary embolism, yes I nearly died, then I was advised to used the coil, 17 years ago I had to have a operation I had cysts on my ovaries fortunately I ended up just after not having periods it was such a relief
Glad that it’s being brought out into public eye. I myself suffered for years with it. Like Shirley, infertility was an issue thankfully I now have two beautiful children. More needs to be done to highlight Endometriosis and treatments. It is an awful thing to have to go through and not suffer in silence.
I had to have a full hysterectomy because of it and not work for 3 months. Best thing I ever did to have the op as I am no longer in pain, no more periods and no more smears 😃😃😃
My daughter suffers terribly with it too,as well as polycystic ovaries. She’s going in for another op in a couple of weeks time. She is in constant pain,it’s an awful illness. There needs to be more research because there is no cure😔
The love is beautiful, I know sadly what it is the have endom. and hormones didnt help me either so one choice is left tough decision for me I hope I will make a good decision
This is an awful thing to suffer with. It is so true the pain during periods is just like one long continuous Labour pain. Then there is the other symptoms. More money needs to be pumped into research.
@@mandyedwards-holisticlifec3050 I know I have suffered for years. I still do and have gone through menopause. I was just referring to the level of pain during a period. There are many more symptoms also that are not pain related. Everyone has their own unique experience.

Shirlie is misinformed about endo sadly. Its not correlated to periods and hysterectomy doesnt cure it. Maybe they left ovaries so she doesnt take hrt but if she is on hrt with estrogen it will cauae endo flair ups

Glad to hear so many people brining light to Endometriosis - so many women suffer with it and for years it was never spoken about.
The Kemps seem like such a lovely family.

Or the agony when you aren't having a period. It's not dependent on your periods

@@victoriadunnett4745 very sad I'm sorry. It's a shame doctors don't have a clue what it is or how to cure it. Even men can get endometriosis

I suffered from the age of 12 until the age of 47 where I had to have a full hysterectomy due to stage 4 endo, I'm so glad this is now recognised 😊
Sorry to ask but how long ago did you have the hysterectomy and did it help.

Glad to see it getting noticed. I've suffered for years and going for an excision surgery next month to remove my endometriosis

More needs to be done. For women with endometriosis it affected the whole of my life. I had full hysterectomy. With a coil stuck under my rib .

Hysterectomy does not cure endo

Endo is horrendous!! Even being on the pill and operating doesn’t always help!! More needs to be done.
I have stage 4 endometriosis it is HORRENDOUS!!!!!
Are they doing anything to help? Do you have to have surgery?

I suffer pain when not on periods. Pain isn't necessarily associated with periods with endometriosis.

Love Shirley she was the cool girl
Possibly the most envied girl in Britain back in her Wham days!
@@CalimoshYes working with George and going out with Martin. Two iconic 80’s groups and she was connected to both. Great days.

Didn't she sing smooth operator?
No that was Sade. Shirlie was with WHAM!

I knew someone had what Shirley had she had get IVF to have a child
Menyw arbennig.
Pop star ? Backing singer for Wham and had 1 hit with Pepsi & Shirley because George Michael wrote & produced it.
That's a bit harsh. Shirlie with DCLee & later Pepsi were a big part of the WHAM! Experience. Imagine suffering like that & having to perform
I love Shirley Kemp. She was great in Wham and as duo act Pepsi and Shirley too.Bless her.❤️
