This has been a long time in the making! I moved to Panama in July of 2019 and thought I was going to buy a condo on the beach. But fate would have other plans.

@@Pattybluehayes - We are doing a Baji to Carbo cruise in November with 2 other couples. See how it all goes.
If we do a Panama cruise, I don't want to just pass through the canals, I want to stop in Panama City for a few days. We still have "RVing in our blood" and going up to Oregon at the end of the month and work our way down HWY-1 till October.
If and when we make the trip your way, believe me, I will give you a heads up.

One of the things I would definitely do in such a lovely yard, would be, medicinal herb garden!🥰
Also would add lots of shrubbery that mosquitos do not like, such as lemon grass and rosemary.
I tell you, I have so many dreams of a home in Panama.... away from the city.🥰

It's good that your goals were met..! When there is focus and help from God, it is the safest that the goals will be met. El Valle de Antón is a magical place of many contrasts but a lot of peace. Patti, So excited for you! Since I'm also interested in EV, was wondering what the general price point was, noticed that in your prior video no list price was posted. What do you think the renovation project will be approx. Curious since I will also be in a fixer range. Love the property and the home has some cool elements
Thank you! Thankfully the house had good bones 🙌 I paid $127k. I’m budgeting between 70-100k for renovations which has engineer fees, cert of occupancy fees (those were not done on the property).

Usually in remodeling/renovations in my experience can run 25% over what a contractor estimates costs to be. Not sure how things go in Panama, but will follow your progress.

Patty, nice property. Just a little question: what if one day you decide to go back home, for any of the various reasons we already have known, what do you do with this property? We are also presented with the same question more so that I don't think any of my kids are interested to live there or any place. Please give us some idea.
I won’t be going back to live in the states. I go visit, but my home is here ☺️ I don’t have kids so I don’t have the pull of kids/grandkids.

It was listed at $149k and I paid $122k. Yes, complete renovation is in progress! All new electric, a 2nd story building-out, raised the roofline, added a 2nd unit, new ventilated windows, yard drainage, septic reworked. Check out the progress videos ☺️☀️

Hi Tony, in El Valle, not for that price. But in lesser known towns, yes. Might need some updating, but it’s possible.
