Melissa Benoist is the best
She really isn't. I hope to God she doesn't believe half of the politics that she and the show runners spurt on this show. Because not only is it annoying and wrong, it's hypocritical. Especially for Benoist. Not too long ago, she appeared on television (The series is called Homeland, by the way) wearing nothing but a green set of Underwear in front of a man that eyed her up and down. If anyone deserves less to talk about female objectification, it's her.

No Supergirl is not more powerful than Superman. It's been stated in the comics before that the reason Supergirl seem more powerful is because she rarely holds back while Superman ALWAYS holds back. The moment Superman showed Supergirl his hidden power, he only needed a single punch to put her down. A lot of people seem to forget that Superman is an actual descendant of the Kryptonian God Rao (read "The Last God of Krypton"). That's why he is still considered "super" even when comparing him to other Kryptonians. Superman has more potential (as seen in "Superman One Million") than Supergirl because of his bloodline. Kara is not part of that bloodline. He has the perfect Kryptonian genes. Superman's feats proves this.

Comics is the source material, the show is just an adaptation. So no, she is not more powerful than Superman because it's shown in the comics that he is more powerful and more skilled.

Kara is my favorite Kryptonian. I know we all grew up with Superman as our hero, but I can’t help yearning to be there with her. By the way, I prefer Supergirl of TV more than who they want for the DCEU. I know it’s supposed to be an Extended Universe, but you can replace Superman on TV but you can’t replace Superman in the movies!

You forgot one Supergirl was created after DC took the comic the Shazam family and they modeled Supergirl after Mary Marvel.
As for Supergirl versions I have always liked the Cara Kent version, the tomboy girl with a hot head and powers to match.
Actually in the comics Mon'El is actually Superman's Uncle, how ever he was allergic to lead and it was killing him so
Clark put him in the phantom zone to save his life, and then in the future the Legion of Superheroes found Mon'El and gave him a
cure for his allergic reaction to lead that was lethal and he became a Legionnaire.

This video made me want to start watching Supergirl. I'm not sure I will, as that might involve watching all the other shows and I don't have time for that (plus I'm more of a Marvel fan), but it's something to consider.

supergirl is set on another earth from the rest of the arrowverse so you don't need to watch the rest (with exception of a few crossovers). i like marvel but i do watch the arrowverse shows, you can watch both DC and marvel things you know.
Besides, she is so incredibly beautiful that ANY excuse to tune in would be worth it, IMHO. Especially look up the episode where she was first trying to design a uniform in the first season. You will thank me later!

I stopped watching it after the first episode because of how boring and painfully unbearable, unlikable, and heavy handed it's pathetic feminazi messages were. Seriously, why do people continue to watch this show? It's not good in the least. Matter of fact, it's probably the worst of all those awful Arrowverse series bar none. And given how painfully mediocre the Arrowverse is already, that's saying a lot.

She was a double for 3 episodes in the first season (for Livewire and for Bizarro) and appeared in a second season episode, where she was a Livewire imitator. For the first season of Supergirl, Shauna Duggins (winner of the first Emmy for Stunt Coordination), who was Jennifer Garner's double on Alias, was Melissa's double. In the second season, when production moved to Vancouver, Atlin Mitchell took over as her stunt double. In the third and the fourth season though it's Jennifer Clarke.
