I've tested at the running track the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite (version 1) which are now on sale at £85 and they literally smoked my favourite shoes (Pro +), purchased spending £132. After some research I got a pair of the velocity Nitro 2. I'm no fast runner by any stretch of the imagination, almost 60 years old so mostly just go and enjoy it. After 180 miles I'm certainly loving the pumas.
Regarding Puma grip, it's so awesome and happy to trade that off with a few extra grams.
I'll probably get those Deviate nitro 2 as they look a bit more stable and I'm a mild pronator.
Pumas are so fun to run in, super versatile and that durability with already great pricing, what value! Love em.
    Thanks.. Rob

I've got the Velocity Nitro 2 and the Deviate Nitro 2. They are my most used training shoes. Both are quite special in that they can do everything quite well. I think you'd even could race all distances in the Deviate Nitro 2. I use Velocity Nitro 2 for easy , daily and tempo. I use Deviate Nitro 2 for treshold runs like 10x1000 meter and marathon workouts, my longest was 25 km with 16 km at marathon pace.

When I was younger and I could still play football I always wore Puma King's and I absolutely loved them. Now that I run I hadn't even considered Puma as a running shoes brand. A couple of weeks ago I got a pair of Puma Magnify Nitro as a winter running shoe and I have been so impressed. Very comfortable and easy to run in, and they have great grip for this horrible British winter weather that we get.

I have nearly 40 running shoes from the likes of Nike, Saucony, adidas, ASICS, Hoka, NB, and On for road running but Puma never entered my radar - until THIS! I would switch brand loyalty to Puma but have one concern. I’m size 11.5 uk but Puma are either size 11 or 12. I’m dubious about sizing up or down and visited a Puma store (could feel an 11 wrap to my big toe but had heel slippage in a 12). Unsure if I take the plunge with an 11…
My view is they may stable, well thought through shoes with better grip than most other brands. I notice Puma also comes off as a nearly brand. It’s “nearly as good as” a Saucony or maybe an ASICS/Adidas yet it’s nearly always better value.

I'm looking for a 2nd pair in my rotation with a bit more responsive ride as a daily trainer. Am heavily contemplating the deviate nitro 2. Went to test it out and it feels good but one concern that I had was that I felt my feet tilting a little inward as i land as compared to the usual flat landing that i feel with my cumulus 24. Is that feeling normal for this shoe and is it okay? A 2nd alternative im looking at is the forever run nitro.
