Wow. I wouldn't have dared to use so much black - but now I can see how much contrast and drama it creates. What a great painting it became. Thanks a lot, Joni!
My, you are a very talented person and I am NOT just talking about your art skills. You are also such wonderful teacher, you described what you were doing so well! You are a swell person, and I cant wait to see what else you bring to RUclips, and the world in general! :)
Hi Joni...this video just popped up in my feed. Lucky me! Thank you so much for your time and experience and sharing with us. This is beautiful and so is your voice. Very calming and supportive.
Wow Joni. You are so talented. I have always struggled to paint clouds but with your wonderful tutorial maybe I could paint some realistic clouds. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I think it will help me a lot to understand shapes. I like also that you only use a few colours as l do struggle to mix paint.
If I just had a quarter of your talent I would be so happy. You make it look so easy, the paint just flows off your brush.. Thank you for your inspiration, I will keep at it and who knows maybe just maybe I will get better and become half as good as you …
@@mariejones3344 I have used those but sadly still struggling as the clouds never seem to look realistic. However what is it they say, practice makes perfect, so will keep at it (for now anyway) : )
I love this one…I haven’t painted all summer, this is going to be the first I paint this week! Absolutely gorgeous…and a terrific lesson on a different way to painting clouds! ❤
You paint with such ease Joni, light strokes and less paint is what I'm trying to do myself.. also using a little water on canvas before beginning. Thank you for all your tips😊 I'm going to keep on keeping on with my paints. I love the luminious❤
This cloud painting tutorial is so inspiring! You make it look so easy, and yet the result is stunning. I love how you use colors to create contrast and add depth to the clouds and sky. Thank you for sharing your step-by-step techniques...I've subscribed so I don't miss any of your beautiful tutorials! 😊☁🎨
I love your talent. One day I am going to just jump in and try. You make it look so easy and I know it is from a lot of practice. This painting is stunning. 💕😊💕
So relaxing watching and listening to you Joni. Love your art and the way you blend your colours. Those clouds are quite a beautiful assortment of colours. Like how you brought down the rays over your painting and then added a touch of colour. Love your added colours to your water. Fantastic, ❤❤🌹🌹
👍🏽Excellent video, thanks. I tried this with a mix of Paynes Grey, Prussian Blue, and Diox. Purple for a surreal nighttime effect and added a misty, far-away moon. It looks totally awesome 😎
Hi Joni, I've been very busy for a little while and haven't had much time to view your beautiful canvas presentations. But I still love your works so much and I find you fantastic. You're like a pretty little magic box that never stops producing creative ideas as beautiful as each other. 💐♥🦋🌺
I was told to paint on old boxes fir a while to get to know my brushes I did 49 paintings on Paper cardboard ...gesso the he k out if it. It saved hundreds on canvas.
@@joniyoungart you have no idea, I consider myself pretty skilled, but, my clouds just haven’t been clouding lately so I was watching tutorials and this helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. It’s so easy to overthink sometimes and this helped me simplify
Oh it's so beautiful! I do watercolor but you make me want to do acrylic 🤗....I'm wondering how these techniques would work with gouch?? Which I'm experimenting with currently....thank you💚
I am just starting to paint, I am not an artist.......also I am 80 years old.....how do you prepare your canvas before painting on it? Do you use gesso or spritze with water......you are such an inspiration. Thank you. Xx
Hi Margaret! Welcome to my channel, thank you for your comment and question. I used to apply gesso to my canvases but now the canvases I buy already have been primed. They’re fine as is, however a little gesso never hurts 😉 Sometimes I like to mist my canvas with water right before I apply paint, it helps blend. Hope this helps, happy painting. Joni
Hi Joni! Just found site and i love it. I found the blue clouds on the beach as i have been wanting to do clouds..what i noticed is that you dont blend your colors..is that necessary to blend?? Thanks❤❤❤❤
Uau!
I assume from the wedding ring, this image isn't reversed which means you're left handed as I. I wonder what percentage of artists are left handed; I see it fairly often!
My 2 oldest are lefties, and both are extremely talented naturally (drawing). I'm a right-y and really have to work at it. Joni is ambidextrous and has used both hands in at least 1 tutorial!😊
@leojablonski2309 that's tough aye! I was forced to be right handed too, they kept taking my pen out of my hand and putting it in my right...so wrong!
Lovely how you fluffed in the white for volume at base and built up the peaks with darks. The three colors are beautifully complex! 🥰
Thank you very much
Nice to hear about self teaching ❤ it’s almost poetic. How working with what you have available makes us better artists. Really you helped me.
Thank you!

Two questions one how do you finish your sides of your paintings and do you paint where the easel is hanging on to the canvas up at the top
I was wondering about that clip at the top, too.
