Was finally able to watch your reaction. Yes you are correct, this is Jin's farewell song before he entered the military. If you have time please check out the video of the live in Enjoy BTS More, it has the introduction made by Chris Martin of the song and how it came to be. Just watch it in your own time, also the last part was not planned and Chris made a mistake so Jin laughed.
The 1st time we saw this MV we knew right away that it was his goodbye song. I have cried so much the 1st time i saw this video because i can feel the love of Jin for ARMY. There are a lot of symbolism in the MV. Here are some of it:
- When his spaceship crash, there are no trees surrounding it, but as you will see by the middle of it when he came back to it, trees grew, they said that usually trees grow at abt 9-10 yrs. The same age as ARMY fandom during that time.
- Many pointed out that some of the items in the room represent the 6 members.
- The blacked out portion in the crossword says "FOR ARMY" in braille.
- The cross word also has Moon (his solo song in Map of the Soul: 7), & ARMY.
-The drawings on the wall was made by the child of the director, Lumpens.
-The young girl in the video represents ARMY (he was like prepping her up so she can be okay before he leaves and she is abt 9-10yrs old as well)
- As you can see, throughout the video Jin has a stoic expression, since he doesn't have a human emotion, but everytime he spend time with the girl (ARMY) he slowly shows emotion & finally be able to show it at the end.
- During the time he's been walking in the crowds you can see a lot of STOP sign (its like stopping him to go to the ship/military) but he needs to go so he moves forward.
- The astronaut suit is also a nod to RM's costume on their Anpanman performance in MAMA.
- There is a tattoo on Jin's neck when he turned back from the spaceship it says ARMY in braille
- There are two cars that didnt let him ride, like the almost 2yrs he'll be gone for military. And the 3rd car that let him ride is a pickup truck similar to the ones they used in their I Need U & Run MV (in the Bangtan Universe)
- The final word in his crossword puzzle is FAMILY.
- He hears a bicycle bell ring at the end of the MV and he smiled coz it was the little girl still there for him. Fun fact: one of the names they considered for the fandom is BANGWOOLS or Bells in English, but decided with ARMY which is very fitting imo.
In the live you noticed the astronaut plushie beside the drum. It is WOOTTEO, a character made by Jin to be with ARMY whike he's gone. Coldplay always bring Wootteo in all their shows touring with them, the even have shirts and pins with Wootteo. In one of their concert he sung The Astronaut as an outro to Fix You. Coldplay became one of their closest friends in the industry. They love and respect each other. Their friendship is such a great thing to witness. Loved your reaction as always.. 💜
Chris Martin even said in an interview that he became a bit protective when it comes to BTS. The part when Chris waiting for Jin to run to him is like a father waiting for his kid😅😂.

I looooove this performance. If you can find it, Chris did an introduction that was so heartfelt before Jin came out. The love Chris and the band have for BTS is beautiful. Jin also has a behind the scenes for his visit which is a fun watch.

I’m doing good 😊 living the work life but can’t complain lol. But going on vacation soon to Disney, so a break is on the horizon 🙌🏻 Hope you guys are doing well also and look forward to your next video 💜⁷

When you're doing these videos you should investigate a little bit? There's three videos connected to the live performance of the astronaut this one what time is the best visual quality I guess! The video that contains Chris Martin's emotional speech about BTS and Jen and the performance. On the video I guess Chris Martin's speech about BTS and Jen! He talks about two years earlier people suggesting that they should collaborate with BTS and his apprehension and fear for doing that because they're different they're Asian they're Korean they make different music. How Coldplay and the members of BTS became brother groups and brothers. in particular how Chris Martin thinks Jin as his little brother. Chris Martin spoke about how Jin had called him up six or seven months earlier. Told him that he needed a song to say goodbye to army fans for a little while before he enlisted in the military. he wrote the astronaut thought about it and decided to give the song to Jin. he talked about Jin going into the military for two years and hoping everything goes OK! Sorry video does not have Chris Martin speech has to get a dislike!
