This is kind of true. Their traveler GMT in the eco drive nighthawk is really annoying, though, because one direction moves the hour hand and the other direction is quick date, so if you want to move a few hours one way, it works fine. To go an hour back the other way, you need to go +23 hours and roll the date wheel all the way over +30 days. You don't stop the minute/second hand, but it's REALLY annoying if you actually travel. Fortunately, this new movement doesn't have that problem and works as proper flyer GMT should.
After lots of research, including your video (which is a great review), I pulled the trigger and ordered this watch this week. It’s an awesome watch. So well made, not too big or heavy. It’s definitely rugged and will do me well as a EDC watch at work. My tip is the band adjustment, I did not know this, but the small friction sleeves that citizen use. Make sure you do the band adjustment in a nice location like a desk with some cloth laid down. Those little sleeves are tiny. Luckily I didn’t loose one, but I did see online lots of comments from others about citizen (seiko) bands using those sleeves (I was not aware of them). Anyhow the band once adjusted fits so well. I had the original Citizen Wingman 35 years ago, so it’s nice to get their first mechanical automatic GMT. I’ve wanted a GMT and this one ticks the boxes for me. Will get plenty of use, and as you say the 5 year warranty is awesome too Edit: should say you definitely can buy this below RRP/MSRP so don’t look to pay list price. I got mine for $100s off retail.
That is a great looking GMT! The fuselage inspired bezel in particular makes an equivalent model in another brand that I can think of look very cheap and nasty. I like the red GMT hand version and on my relatively small wrist it looks great. It’s not small, but it’s a very legible pilots watch and is not apologetic about that. Keep up the detailed Citizen reviews!
I owned the Seiko Prospex Land SRPA71K1 that had similar aesthetics. The angled case is a bit polarizing imo. This Citizen looks like a pretty decent tool watch.
I love Citizen, what it bothers me is they make usually their divers, pilot and GMT at the large size, why don´t do it in 40mm or 42 mm?? By the way, they should offer a wider range of dial colours like white, grey, blue...
Watch looks good and has a great movement but why did they make it a fixed 24 hour bezel. A rotating 24 hour bezel would have made it just about perfect for a GMT.
Great review as always. Hard for me to get past the non lumed second hand. Man, so close. For the price difference, I do like the PVD one, but think I would just go old school Nighthawk here instead. Save the money.
Do you know if this comes with enough links to fit an 8 1/2 inch wrist? I almost always have to order 1 extra link from Citizen these days and sometimes they don’t get back to me so I end up having to put it on a strap. Kind of getting tired of dealing with Citizen because of this, yet I ordered one of these anyway. The bracelet looks too nice to just stick in a drawer and replace with an Isofrane (one of the few straps where the keepers don’t slide off even if I’m on the 2nd to loosest hole). Thanks
I'd love to own that Citizen but their watches are huge. Why do watchmakers insist on eliminating half of their customers by creating watches they can't wear?
I am just wondering why the folks at Citizen put the best number of specs on a sheet of paper when they make a new set of watches, and then decide to hand it to their great-grandpa who served in the imperial Air-Force to make the design. This just has close to zero market appeal design-wise.
What I love about Citizen is they always do Travellers' GMT whether how much cost it is, whether it's mechanical or not

The classic Nighthawk case with an automatic twist. Love it.

maybe it's a fun watch but it should be reasonably priced. There are better looking watches below this price point. thanks for the video.
Bro so gets so excited mispelled frist 😂😂😂
Ite....Citizen .... keep it up... I might actually buy it...just because

yay! no eco drive!!!! nice watch but expensive
Is it the frist one?
Citizen give us the standard Nighthawk with sapphire crystal. That's all i want!
This is Boss!
44.3 is going to prevent 10,000 people from buying this
Good. 40 prevents me from buying the majority of watches. Now you know how I feel!😂
NO rotating bezel...good grief.
Please correct the thumbnail. From FRIST to FIRST.. As I am "special" this confuses me Edit: Ahh you changed it. Thank you and you are welcome 😅
$1145 is not a good price. These are selling for half that online.
Hey I made it first

Thanks for the comment
Considering you’re a man-boy who wears a scarf… Your opinion isn’t needed!
