- In today's episode, we take you to the beautiful and local Ilha Itaparica outside Salvador, Brazil. We stayed in the home of a local Brazilian woman, an old family friend of Dan's. It was an amazing and crazy adventure and we can't wait for you guys to see it!

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university and live life full-time. We're planning to visit every country in the world before we're 30 with an initial goal of 100 before the end of 2022. By the time of posting this video, we're both 24 :)
Brazil was country #80/197🌍
We started our trip in São Paulo before heading down to Iguazu Falls and the Paraguay city of Ciudad Del Este. From there, we flew up to the "original" capital Salvador da Bahia and spent a few days on the local island Ilha Itaparica. We then finished the trip with a week in the fascinating world-famous city of Rio de Janeiro. All in all, our three weeks in Brazil were a blast and we can't wait to return!

I remember when the Salvador video came up I thought "Oh, it's sad that they aren't going to the best beaches in Bahia" Even with locals it's know that the best beaches in the northeast are the ones that are "hidden", I'm really glad that you guys had the experience to go deep and see more of Brazil's nature :D

This house gives very old and rustic vibes but is so beautiful...
I made that same ferry trip 3 years ago to the day, brings back beutiful memories of Brazil. Now keep on going to Morro do Sao Paulo and explore some of the more secluded beaches like Praia Garapua and hop over to Boipeba islad as well, immensly relaxing, beutiful and safe places.
By the way there are may varieties of avocado, all with diffrent properies and use. The most common variety sold in Europe and the US is called Hass and is probably most fatty one. Some varieties can be put on the grill with salt, others mashed up with sugar is good for homemade icecream and so on.

Guys, try to visit Paraty! It's a small and historical city, an amazing place to visit! Its around 4 hours of distance from Rio de Janeiro!
I live few km from where you are in Vera Cruz, in a little village called Cacha Pregos, in my opinion the best spot here. Pay a visit to the place, you guys won't regret it, it is the last location in Vera Cruz. I'm an english and spanish teacher and I was born and raised in Salvador, but decided to come here in order to escape the madness of the big cities.
dude, this video made me feel like im home, as a kid my family and i always went to the beach and it was exactly like that. That's a pretty brazilian experience to have lol

20:44 Fun fact. Brazil, believer or not, has one of the most advanced banking systems in the world. Much different from Germany, that has a very strong cultural barrier towards banking as you probably can tell.

Wow, how random it is to find a Swedish-speaking woman in the middle of nowhere in Bahia. I love that. And those meals??? OMG, Heaven on Earth. Absolute perfection.
Seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers in Brazil, in the front and in the back, so that's why you see them everywhere. It doesn't mean that people will actually always use them, and sometimes they just don't, but at least cars have to be sold with them included at all times, among other safety features.
And I know it's because of the sun and it's for skin protection and everything, but it just feels wrong whenever I see someone with a t-shirt on at the beach. I can't wrap my head around that for the life of me. 🤣

If you still here by the end of december, please go to Gramado - RS, you will have a huge cultural shock after Salvador. And december is the best time of the year to go there, the whole city becomes a magical Christmas movie town.

Ilha do Frade(island) and Morro de São Paulo (small place or city in the Isand in Ilha de Thinhare) near Salvador are my special islands in Bahia. Their beaches are like Caribian beaches. Paradise!

you guys should go to Brasília, it's pretty urban but I do think it is different than most of the more urban areas of Brazil like São Paulo or Rio, but the beaches here are truly amazing glad you guys could experience it.
