Interesting how he described Faren. Carl Smyth was really scathing about Faren in the audio commentary to the divine madness dvd. With Chris being so generous about him, I wonder what that indicates.

Madness has there own style of music and I was at that gig where Chris sang 'Highway to Hell'. Just forgot which one it was again as I've seen a lot of them. 😄

Here in America, I'm fighting to correct that perception Chris talks about that Madness is just a ska band. That's like saying the Beatles were just a mop-top pop band that appealed to excitable young women with catchy, but simplistic songs like "I Want to Hold Your Hand." Unfortunately, for some reason, knowledge of, and the popularity of, Madness, never seemed to get past Our House and One Step Beyond. Yes, It Must Be Love was a top 40 hit, but no one remembers that as Madness. Such a shame. I can understand how a great deal of their catalog would resonate more with British, and London fans, in particular. The Liberty of Norton Folgate is a fantastic piece but it's lyrical content would be lost on most Americans. I'm a bit of an anglophile, but, still, the music and most of the lyrics have universal appeal even if it might take an extra listen or two for us Yanks to pick up on them. Give us another decade before writing us off as I hope the C'est La Vie tour here this Spring won't be the last!

I was really enjoying Chris’s talk about the videos, shame he only got as far as Embarrasment
