Saves money if you can make your own bias tape 👍🙂

That's a really nice video! I'll never get how people come up with these solutions. Also, what is this little handheld iron?! I can't find the link in your description but it looks super handy. And I've got a question, I need to make my own bias tape, preferably out of stretchy fabric, and it has to be pretty wide, like... one visible side would probably need to be ~8cm (~3 inches). Do you have an idea how I could go about that?

You know what? I never added that to my list!! It’s the Clover Mini Iron. amzn.to/3qd8IyO The one I have has all the extra attachments for smaller areas, curves and something else. It’s pretty nifty to have on hand! Although the metal rod gets super hot so be careful not to burn yourself!

And for the knit bias tape, you could use the same method but I would strongly suggest using either a wash away stabilizer and a walking foot or medium interfacing one the seams. And you’re going to need a pretty big cut of fabric or several medium cuts to get a decent width. How much yardage do you need when you’re done?

@@TheLiterarySewist Thank you for the iron ^^ And I'm not sure how to give that info in yard, I need about 3 meters of length (about 3.3 yards I think but idk if you measure length in yards?) since it goes around a skirt, sleeves, and neckline of a dress. That would probably require a ton of fabric so do you think I could forego the bias tape and instead use fabric glue to just glue on fabric strips that I can cut to the needed with? It's not daily wear so it doesn't need to be super durable, and I could live with the additional seam.

Because it’s knit you could probably get aware with strips of fabric instead. I’d use something like wonder tape (amzn.to/3bMHaHR) to help secure it to the fabric while you maneuver around the edges. It’s a wash away tape so make sure to sew it down too just in case.
