I have a LOT of trouble with my shoulders ( I need surgery sometime this year, but I'm putting it off), so I'm wondering about other ergonomic issues, like the proper height of a sewing table for my height, and if that means I should have a drop-down cut for my machine so the sewing area is level with the table... that kind of thing. Is there a good single resource for that sort of question?
Sorry for such a late response. I didn’t really have a good answer for this so I got to looking into some things. One thing I saw was that a lot of people are using a standing position to sew. I thought maybe a sit-stand desk would work but it seems that the vibrations of the machine could through off the stability. For cutting, I believe waist height is the ideal. Just like with computers, you should work to have the best posture possible. And take breaks! I’m not an expert by any means but when I had the carpal tunnel issues, breaks were super helpful for me. It’s hard to not just push through but your health is the most important.
@@TheLiterarySewist Thank you--that is all very helpful, and I will look into those changes! I think taking breaks is very important, and I'm prone to "but I'm almost done."

Starbuck used to have vinyl that read “Sew Say We All”… but it rubbed off from all the sewing. 😅
Good tips, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I love your craft room! 😍 where did you get those lock open hinges for the pop up table legs?
