@@olakpasa6486 so the animal was blind and couldn't see from 6 meters that it was a human? Also when it realized it was a human why didn't the mother perceive the fawn felt it was in danger? If it was as you say the mother would've known what the fawn was doing and would've at least reacted, instead she knew what was going on and let the human pet it.

Good job!! I raised orphan fawns for my dad when I was a kid. He was a Fish and Wildlife Officer for Washington State. It was so much fun! Every year we would get two or three of these little guys. The best part was once you fed them you immediately became mom!!

I was gonna say the same, in all honesty they shouldn't have touched it, even as tempting as it is... we raised an injured fawn once his name was freckles... we ended up having to put him on an elk enclosure because the state wouldn't allow it, unfortunately him being domesticated got him poached within the enclosure... the less interaction with people the better their survival instinct.

Haha! I super don’t judge bc I don’t expect everyone to be an expert on everything, but ppl should know to never touch wild deer. They, and other wild animals, can quickly develop a shock syndrome called muscular myopathy that kills their muscle tissue permanently, simply from being touched by humans. That’s why some animal rescuers are in tough positions when they have to rescue a trapped or injured deer; the more time they spend holding/touching it, the greater the chance it will die. So sometimes they choose to let an injured deer go without treatment, if they think the injury will likely heal without intervention. This also goes for other timid wild animals like wild bunnies, for example.
It’s a learning moment for many who come across this vid, so not a huge deal, I’m sure the fawn was fine. :)

Lucky she didn't freak on them. When I was younger, I had a couple yearlings that couldn't figure out what I was that came up to me. The doe came storming over within a couple yards stomping and making as much noise as she could to try and scare me off. Have also seen people get attacked by deer, couple times was because they got too close to fawns.

No it didn't. I found a fawn in my driveway. Unfortunately when they are that young they don't know better and will come to a human. I picked the one in my driveway up, checked her over for injuries, then put her down in a safe spot before leaving the house and saw the Mother with her baby walking towards the woods as I was driving away.

My mother used to have a license to care for wild life (not sure what it's call I was really young) and we had someone bring in a fawn they found, so we cared for it over night (fawn formula and eveything) and brought it back to where it was found. It's mother came for it and nursed it when we brought it back. I really doubt that tiny head pat would make her reject the baby.

@@xusel4975 that's true, but deer and other wildlife have seemed to be more interactive with humans. I live near a 4H camp and its back in a wooded area. Deer are so used to people now they just come up and want to be pet then go their merry way. The birds, squirrels, chipmunks,raccoons are the same it's almost like a Disney movie lol. Everyone knows not to feed them though we dont want them to become dependent on humans to survive.
