Beautiful reaction to both Deeana and Dimash's War & peace :) Did you know Diana was abandoned by her drug-addicted mother in the middle of winter on the streets at the age of 4 years, she was found with a broken collar bone and she was unable to speak, she was mute. She was the only child of many siblings to survive, although her mother did attempt to drown her in the bath. Her adoptive mother, saved her life, literally, she was a speech therapist and she had Diana attend singing lessons to help with her speech, which is why she began yodelling initially.

Believe it or not Diana has had a difficult time convincing some, like me, that she was more than a gimmick. What I saw here was her ability to sustain that vocal quality into her head voice, which I've neither seen or heard of before this performance. So now I with a lot of company have jumped on the Diana train. This performance was EPIC. And tears were the proper response for this day.

The song: very old song sung at weddings about an orphan who is going to the river (seen as a portal to the land of the dead, in a way) to ask her departed family for a blessing as she gets married.
Diana had a rough beginning and ended up in an orphanage, she's adopted now and her mom helped her so very much.

You know, as much as I love her voice (and she really is out of this world) I have to also applaud the composer(s?) creating the song arrangements for her. They really are showcasing her perfectly while also taking the music in wholly unexpected but gorgeous directions. This rendition was spinechilling.
