My biggest tip for the PIO shots is to use the auto injector! I learned about it in the IVF facebook group. It's a godsend and a game changer! Search in that group and you should be able to find the link for it and tons of videos on how to use it. It's so nice because all you have to do is place in in the right spot and push the button. It injects quickly and for you! It made me able to the shot myself when my husband was traveling. And when he was doing it for me her preferred to use this.
Honestly so proud of you for calling and double checking the placement, it’s tough to speak up for ourselves sometimes but after all the time and effort you’ve put in of course you want to make sure everything’s done properly. Praying for you during this exciting but nerve wracking process! ❤
Walk around about 10 minutes in your house while rubbing the oil in so it's not too thick in one spot. I hated the ice trick...it felt really bad the next day.
I don’t blame you one bit for asking questions about the placement of the circle. Every detail of this process is very important!! It’s a whole embryo we’re talking about! Hoping the transfer goes/went perfect!
Split your butt check in 4 quadrants and above your butt crack to far upper quadrant and that’s the “safe” zone. Also, numbing cream helps so much, I just bought mine off of Amazon. Also, make sure you keep all the weight off of the side you are injecting so the muscle is more relaxed.
We're getting ready to start our IVF journey hopefully next month, so I have loved watching your experience. I have a cousin who has 4 kids via IVF and she said some tips for the PIO is that she would put the meds in her bra to warm them up before injecting. And I've seen in other vlogs that for that injection it is better to sit on a warming pad prior to vs icing...warming helps distribute the oil better. And I heard that you should massage the oil in, move legs, etc. Wish you all the best!
@TiffanieMichelle Yes it can be hard. I am praying this year is your year. I just love how positive you have been it's wonderful. Lots of prayers and hugs 🙏 coming your way ❤️
I was in a lot of pain for the first 2 weeks of PIO shots. It was hard to walk or do any movement at all. But the pain went away after 2 weeks. Good luck on your embryo transfer, can’t wait for your next video!
@@arika1585 I’ve heard they can be a pain in the butt.. literally lol sorry bad joke! Haha but thanks for the warning! And thank you so much for your support on this journey! ❤️
😂 the doctor definitely drew it in the wrong place!! But you are correct on where to put it!! I have hit a nerve before by being too far center! Do not inject there ! The best trick I learned was to feel for the muscle… flex your leg out and feel where the muscle flex! Good luck 🎉
I'm so incredibly hopeful that your transfer will go wonderful! God is good❤❤ All of this information is also extremely helpful for when I have to do the same so thank you!
I start PIO tomorrow morning for our transfer on 1/2! I feel like your idea of finding your hip bone and injecting it more in the “love handle” region is what I’ve seen, too. Now I am curious others thoughts as well!
So glad you questioned the placement of the circles, they are way too low! I am a nurse (of 40 years) and have given tons of shots in my career! Dividing the buttock into quarters and giving in the upper outer quadrant is the correct place. Another way is to have your husband put his thumb at the top of the butt crack and spread his finger out over your cheek. He would give it between the pointer finger and middle finger.
Get a nurse to do it. Drs don’t give meds. It’s the RMA nurse that did mine n it’s by the hip bone. I had my hubby did it first n then I felt better do it my self . Where he drew it is wrong boo
Your doctor is so silly for putting the circles too low. 🤣 they are FAR too low. Your thumb (with your hand on your hip bone) - is the perfect spot!! You’ll want to just poke a little bit with your fingers each time before you inject (before wiping with alcohol pads) to make sure you are not hitting your pelvic or hip bone- but you found the perfect spot with your thumb. Like I mentioned it before, just stay away from the center of your butt cheek (even if you’re up high) - because your sciatic nerve is right close to the middle of each bum cheek. - looking at anatomy diagrams to show where the sciatic is, helped me A LOT to choose where to inject. I promise it gets easier and a lot less scary! You got this girl!!!❤️❤️❤️ please reach out if you have questions!!
@ no! Not at all!! Never feel crazy or silly for asking questions! If you’re unsure, always ask and keep asking until you’re comfortable with the information you have! Also, I need to add on top of my millions of other tips and side notes about PIO- expect your bum cheeks to go numb😅 both of mine at 9w3d pregnant are completely numb, my left is so numb I can’t feel any sensation on it when I touch it or scratch it.. I can however still feel the tiny pinch of the needles going in- Numbness is TOTALLY normal- it will go away after a few weeks to a few months after stopping PIO. ☺️
I feel like your circles are way too low and you are right on where you think you should inject them! Thats where I did for all my transfers and it was good!
When I did PiO my circles were huge, because they told me to pick a different location every time to avoid too much soreness or bruising. Mine went from the top of my jeans pocket like you’re showing but it went as low as your circles - it’s a large surface area, and the needles are quite large as well, that even in that circle you’re going to be getting your glute muscle regardless, so you really should be okay!
Divide your one of your buttocks in four and use the top right quarter. Divide that one in four again and inject in the middle of that one. I hope this helps
