Keep the bed how it is !! It goes with the old truck look, back in the day ppl didn't put bed liners in cause they didn't care what it looked like cause it was a work truck
Also Greg, if you do want to put something in the bed to protect it, you can get clear bedliner as well! It'll protect it and still look super pap scrappy!
The WAB products are the best! Been using for years, especially like Greg said the tire dressing is long lasting and doesn't fly off and leave dots all over.
Most flex-a-light fans will work for pulling and pushing air thru a radiator with out sacrificing CFM's. But they are not ready out of the box for pushing air, minor modifications as instructed by flex-a-lite is required.
I think those window tabs where for rear Window Louvers also fifth wheel rails make for frame stiffeners also on these trucks remove that vent in the door jam to replace the clips
Drove a 2nd gen without a fan for a year and it never overheated... I never towed with it though but these diesels are rly effective and wont generate alot of heat unless you turn power up alot.
I wouldn't worry about a fan. I did a 4bt swap in my full size bronco, and the only time I need to use my E fan is when I'm climbing steep hills slower than 15 mph or trying to power out of a mud hole.
just a suggestion, there are electric fans that push, and some that pull. You might find one that fits on the front of the rad. Might help you out finding something that works.
Put the fans IN FRONT of the radiator. It works better. Fan motor NEVER gets hot. You might want to (hand) sand off the rust spots on the bed, then clear coat the inside (only), and it will actually look better than anything else (keeping with the old patina look.
you can do dupi color clear truck bedliner and still retain that patina supposedly ive only used line x i dont think they make clear but hey test on a scrap piece of truck first doesnt hurt and if it works well its protected and it will retain that patina and if it dont well you learned sumtn
hey sendit one of the bolt holes on the top cover of my p pump stripped out so it's leaking and probably sucking air what would you suggest? helicoil? drill and tap?
greg! hey was wondering why you use a regular green coolant and not a HD red coolant. wont the green coolant for cars cause cavitation in the engine.? i know all trucks ive owned required HD coolant?
dddurk Yeah I don't believe extended life coolant came about til the late 90s or early 2000s, but I'm not 100% sure. I was a wee little kid back then lol
Jeff Smith well tht explains alot i wasnt born yet so tht makes sense y i didnt know tht. but what dosent make sense is diesels produce so much heat i think tht it would burn regular car coolant. plus cars dont have 7-8-900° egts so u can see where im comin from
I like the look of the bed the way it is, it would look weird with the bedlined and the body not painted new, keep it the way it is Greg A, and keep on truckin good job bud.
Hey man keep making some great videos love seeing all yall just having a good time reminds me of my buddies and i, where do i get the WAB products? I've always used mothers or maguires.
Hey Greg big fan from up in B.C. Canada. Just a quick question where do you get your piping for your hood stack? Looked everywhere and can’t find any to buy for my 1995 12 valve and don’t own a welder to make my own. Thanks
Keep the bed how it is !! It goes with the old truck look, back in the day ppl didn't put bed liners in cause they didn't care what it looked like cause it was a work truck
Rye Shields but now we can preserve the bed. keep it in good condition to sell
It's not really for looks it's so you can protect your bed and not have it rust out in less than 10 years
Also Greg, if you do want to put something in the bed to protect it, you can get clear bedliner as well! It'll protect it and still look super pap scrappy!
That hair cut on homeboy. 🤣😂
Warren P. haha no kidding. makes sense for a snap on guy lol they all have some weird thing bout them.
Warren P Who Cut Your Hair!! 😅😅
LMAO. It's the Cummins driver approved haircut.
The WAB products are the best! Been using for years, especially like Greg said the tire dressing is long lasting and doesn't fly off and leave dots all over.
where can you get those products
+Chuck Chase I get them at FleetPride, it's a heavy duty truck parts store. That's the only place I've seen those products.
he got the simple jack haircut
Ryan Maddry W
I voted for the angle stack but I now think it would be better flat with a clapper
Possibly look into a shackle flip for the rear. Suppose to help a ton with ride quality with 1st/2nd gens!
Most flex-a-light fans will work for pulling and pushing air thru a radiator with out sacrificing CFM's. But they are not ready out of the box for pushing air, minor modifications as instructed by flex-a-lite is required.
Placing the pushing fan between the radiator and intercooler might fix your clearance issue due to the engine balancer.
Happy Father's day brother. God bless you and your family!
Love that first gen you guys rock keep that Cummins love flowing
I think those window tabs where for rear Window Louvers also fifth wheel rails make for frame stiffeners also on these trucks remove that vent in the door jam to replace the clips
Dude, is that guy's barber blind? It looks like he put his hand on the top of his head and shaved around it. One word, bro: *fade*
Drove a 2nd gen without a fan for a year and it never overheated... I never towed with it though but these diesels are rly effective and wont generate alot of heat unless you turn power up alot.
you could put the radiator fans in front of the radiator and wire them to push air through it so you won't have to worry about clearance issues
a gooseneck plate can hook into those rails too it's not just for a 5th wheel
I wouldn't worry about a fan. I did a 4bt swap in my full size bronco, and the only time I need to use my E fan is when I'm climbing steep hills slower than 15 mph or trying to power out of a mud hole.
I would go with the bed liner probably a linex the stuff is just indestructible protection for your bed I'm getting mine done soon
Happy Father's Day Greg A
if your gonna paint the bed its probably gonna look too nice and you'll end up painting the whole truck
Those hangers on the window were for a slotted back window vent shade like the mustangs had in the 70s as an add on
just a suggestion, there are electric fans that push, and some that pull. You might find one that fits on the front of the rad. Might help you out finding something that works.
ah.. forgot about the cooler.. to busy looking at shiny rad. to much bling.

GREG A. Killin the Diesel RUclips game 👍👍👍👍
You could get a piece of flex pipe to put on that hood stack for when you're idling and looking under the hood. Less breathing fumes :)
ryans haircut reminds me zorg in 5th element lol
Thomas Rice exactly what I was going for! Great movie haha
hell yeah gary oldman is the king
Thomas Rice thats where i recognized it from i was like hmm i seen that hair before but where you got it
When I did my ford cummins I had the 4 core Mishimoto radiator and I never once had to turn the fans on towing a huge trailer threw Huston traffic
A nice rubber bed mat would prolly b a decent way to go for the 1st gen.
Put the fans IN FRONT of the radiator. It works better. Fan motor NEVER gets hot. You might want to (hand) sand off the rust spots on the bed, then clear coat the inside (only), and it will actually look better than anything else (keeping with the old patina look.
dormen at autozone has them.
Bed liner id get the one that you can tint to mach the truck.
Lmao the heating vent stuff is so relatable
I know it wouldn't have the patina of the rest of the truck but the first gen would look so good with a windshield brow
No on the bed liner, gotta keep the pap scrap patina
you can do dupi color clear truck bedliner and still retain that patina supposedly ive only used line x i dont think they make clear but hey test on a scrap piece of truck first doesnt hurt and if it works well its protected and it will retain that patina and if it dont well you learned sumtn
when are you going to turn the pump up??
Love the videos, boys! Early squad! \m/
A lil one wheel peel...maybe even a One tire fire for ye ol 1st gen needs to changee
Shouldn't you have a flapperdingledoger on the exhaust so you wont fill it with rain?
Nikel87
Can you just put push fans on the opposite side of the radiator so you don't have to worry about the balancer spacing
LivingItUpAK pullers work better than pushers
hey sendit one of the bolt holes on the top cover of my p pump stripped out so it's leaking and probably sucking air what would you suggest? helicoil? drill and tap?
awesome video and happy father's day man
i say bedliner and do like the bed caps like the lnes on the 05 but with bedliner. would look goof with the black wheels and maybe some tint
bed line it just dont over the sides of the box
I have those rails in my 95 ford that has a gooseneck plate for it too.
William Chambers lmao we've got the same truck and gooseneck set up. Is your truck a 7.3?
Sackmatters yep. 95 ex cab 350 dually 7.3 auto
I could use those fifth wheel rails to help pull horse trailers and lowboy trailers
Whats the name of the tool you guys used to get all the air out of the cooling system?
can you fit a set of fans in between the grill and radiator
run a push pull system fans 2 smaller on rear of radiator and 1 large 1 in front if posible
Greg how does Andy like the new turbo on his mega cab?
What year model is the black dodge?
2008
What's done to the first gen trans? Ever been rebuilt? I was curious! If you could say in a video I would appreciate it
Are you going to tow with it? If so keep it . I have both goose neck and 5th wheel on my flat bed.
Napa or an auto value/auto plus store should have the lock rod clips. Dorman/motormite and SURR make them and supply to both chains.
greg! hey was wondering why you use a regular green coolant and not a HD red coolant. wont the green coolant for cars cause cavitation in the engine.? i know all trucks ive owned required HD coolant?
dddurk They didn't always have red coolant. His truck was designed to be ran with green coolant.
Jeff Smith ohhh gotcha. i didnt know tht. thats y i was wondering.
dddurk Yeah I don't believe extended life coolant came about til the late 90s or early 2000s, but I'm not 100% sure. I was a wee little kid back then lol
Jeff Smith well tht explains alot i wasnt born yet so tht makes sense y i didnt know tht. but what dosent make sense is diesels produce so much heat i think tht it would burn regular car coolant. plus cars dont have 7-8-900° egts so u can see where im comin from
Where did you get the "downpipe" and good stack kit?
I like the look of the bed the way it is, it would look weird with the bedlined and the body not painted new, keep it the way it is Greg A, and keep on truckin good job bud.
What are the parts for the radiator vacuum tool?
What turbo is on the first gen
lol those door panel clips was used by Chrysler since the late 60s. A lot of the window regulator hardware is also the same, all from the 60-70s.
Reverse the fan to the front are the radiator behind the grill
You should try the Superior Products line of cleaning supplies. You can get it at O'reilly auto. heir Cover all tire dressing is amazing
Love the vids!!! Going to look at a first gen dually today wish me luck. Are you planning on doing a p pump conversion on your 12v.
heciliner bedliner kits you can get some at orilleys and use chemical brothers
in Vancouver British.C. fuel is 1.35 a liter
I love how no one is worried about the truck just the haircut lol
what are you doing with the plates you removed from the bed?
Im looking to paint my cummins black and wondering what paint code you have on your tow pig! Thanks!
Get that triple turbo truck on the road!
What's tht coolant process called? Might sound dumb but I think my cummins needs tht might have air pockets n the system
Line it, will look good with the patina. Try to use a color though not just black.
I love finding dodge/ mopar people on RUclips
Use all Jones racing lines and fittings for my stuff too. They do nice stuff
where did you buy your radiator from?
He did like a 5 foot one wheel peel and when he zoomed in it made it look like it was like 20 feet long. That's called smart camera skills right there
Hey man keep making some great videos love seeing all yall just having a good time reminds me of my buddies and i, where do i get the WAB products? I've always used mothers or maguires.
The stack needs to be ceramic coated black... please
Johnny Koch why? That would be stupid....
Joseph Bourdeau and what's ur suggestion?
Joseph Bourdeau wow ur pretty hype over a suggestion. Guess a black stack wouldn't match the black wheels?
your opinion never mattered.. hater
Michael G looks like u have no reason to watch any of these videos then..
Berliner for sure. The outside is all that needs to be patina. Everything else needs to be somewhat comfortable to look at
Wait what do you do if you are driving and it rains. won't it go down the stack?
Under the bed rail bed liner that way it's clean but keeps the patina of the rest of the truck
Can you post a video of airdog install on 12v 2nd gen
without bed liner looks better... old truck look... great job on the truck..
Is the fuel plate removed?
what part number belt are you running?
We're do y'all find your trucks in looking for one like the long bed 4 door in the background
ever mess with ceramic coating on your trucks or heard about them? I would love to know more
no bed liner for the 1st gen. toss a good ol bed mat in there and shell be good to go. i think it fits the look of the 1st gen
Try Line X Australia for the bedliner
is that the pilot in Hampton, NJ?
flush mount tonneau cover. bedliner optional.
Do a clear spray in/roll on
Wanted to see the 12v pull the gooseneck that would be cool!
if you get a drop in bed liner you can put it in when you do stuff so it doesn't dent up the bed.
Hey Greg big fan from up in B.C. Canada. Just a quick question where do you get your piping for your hood stack? Looked everywhere and can’t find any to buy for my 1995 12 valve and don’t own a welder to make my own. Thanks
You could do a color match bed liner
What's the word on scrap truck? Haven't heard anything since he popped another head gasket
Gas here in hawaii is $3 a gallon/diesel is around $4 and diesel pumps are $2.69 over there ? That made my eye twitch bro
Years ago they had a plastic or metal loover to cover your window
Can you not put the fans in front of the radiator?
Diesel here in west Texas is 2.29 a gallon
What year is it
2.45 here in Arizona
If you haven't already found a fan, check out spal 16" fans. I run them on my E36 M3 track car. great for when space is limited
