This memory came to mind as I read of Jesus baptism. My daughter excepted Jesus as her savior when she was eight years old and soon after baptized. When she attended a Christian College she had the awesome opportunity to go to Israel, and she had the honor and privilege of being baptized again in the river Jordan. She even brought back mud from the Dead Sea. So happy she had that experience.
Thank you for this wonderful study! In chapter 16-17…The Father is claiming Jesus as his Son….and the Trinity is formed…Hallelujah!! 🙏🏼❤️ Thank you Kaela, for your devotion…
The infancy Gospel of Thomas! Wow this us so cool id have never thought to look for that. Looks like on 6/13/2024 a new manuscript of this was discovered as the oldest written record of Jesus' childhood (this was from a quick google search) definitely sparks a lot if curiosity.
I am so glad you're here! And that you received through this message. That was actually a pretty cool moment for me to realize. I've read through Matthew how many times in my life? and it was this time that I saw that piece. Thank you for sharing and encouraging me 🙏🏻
Total game changer, right!?! I just remember being like, "doesn't anyone else wonder these kinds of things?" And when I started to wonder about things, everything was interesting, and I could remember and understand, and my time with God was enjoyable and exciting and, well... time to share that with others ☺️
@@hiswordmywalk yes, absolutely!! It’s been a blast thinking from the original hearers perspective- and getting creative with the thought process:) They were human too -I keep reminding myself. Thank you for creating this series!
I'm not sure if there's a reference somewhere else in the Bible as to why John stated "someone is coming" but in my mind, it shows me that John was a simple human being just like me. He didn't have some all seeing power, or a psychic ability to know that it was Jesus that was coming. It just makes him seem ordinary, yet still conveys his unwavering faith in God.
I love the way your name is spelled btw. But I'm so happy I found your studies! You explain things really well and I've definitely done my own research because of your questions.
PRAISE GOD! 🙌🏼 I am so so glad you are here! You will find plenty of content, and always more coming, on this channel. Please reach out to me anytime if you have questions. Connect with me on Instagram (@kaelaprays), or facebook anytime!❤️
Also, the chaffing of the wheat…He was separating the good, nutritious “fruit” from the wheat stalk and getting rid of what no longer serves the “fruit”…and THEN…”gathering the wheat into his barn” He took the grain, the part of the stalk that still served him and he gathered it and placed it in his barn, he protected it. The barn was the safe space to keep the grain protected from weather, storms, and predators (birds, etc). God does this with us when we become believers, he gathers us and protects us. 🙌🏼
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. 🕊️ MATTHEW 3:16
Really enjoying your guidance to help us to think with curiosity. With that said is there any chance you would be willing to share with us questions that you did further study on and let us know what you discovered? Just a thought!
I love this! Here's my very honest answer. My own plan was to just do the book of Matthew daily like this and then move on to one video each week teaching more. As I've followed what I believe is the Lord's guiding to continue on almost daily, a lot of those videos have been bumped a little further. BUT THEY ARE COMING! Maybe it won't be each chapter, but I do desire to share more of how I do my own personal studies and what I find so fun and interesting. I'm so glad you're here reading with me ☺️
@@hiswordmywalk Thank you for responding so quickly and once again for doing this study. I'm using is with a small group. So looking forward to the videos where you'll be teaching more. And thank you for following the Lord's leading. He always knows best, His timing is perfect!

What resources do you suggest we should use to further our understanding of some of the questions we might have? You keep saying, "dig further", but where does one begin to seek? I'd appreciate your guidance. Thanks!
Such a great question. I have more videos and content coming to share what I personally do. Here's a short video with four free online tools that I use all the time ☺️ ruclips.net/video/9fAsEi9V9m8/видео.htmlsi=cOP6Mv6_sTRSshbv
@@hiswordmywalkthank you! I’m new to your channel and love the “get curious” approach! It’s been really helpful! But definitely needed direction as to where and how to dig!
Being someone who recently found their faith, do you have a suggestion for a good cheap Bible? I looked at thrift stores and they had none. And most online are more than I can afford at the moment. Should I just buy one of those anyways? Thank you. I really appreciate your videos.
I am so honored that you're here. PRAISE GOD! 🙌🏼 I get it! You can try asking at one of your local churches, they often have Bibles. Here's link to the one that I read from daily, it's on sale right now on Amazon. amzn.to/49zVBe6 AND... please email me: info@kaelaprays.com 🙏🏻
The main difference between Sadducees and Pharisees in ancient Judaism was their belief in the afterlife and resurrection, with Sadducees rejecting both concepts while Pharisees strongly believed in them so the sadducees was more an atheist group in an source sense ?!
“He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.”” - Matthew 3:12, Jesus himself will separate the rightnesses from the ungodly, and he will reward the righteousness with salvation in heaven but condemned to hell those, for their sins if they don’t seek repentance!
great question!!! If you want to do some digging, I would suggest a Bible dictionary, or a commentary. I use an online commentary often. If you simply type "Matthew 3 commentary" - then select the Enduring Word Commentary (the one I go to most online), then get your shovel! They will go deep verse by verse 🕵🏼♀
How do we know who the audience is? And how do we know who is speaking because Matthew (I have to reread the others because I am still quite new) but he refers to himself in the third person when he talks about himself being a tax collector.

Did some digging and found my way to Luke 1.. now I see why the Messiah proclaimed “there is none greater than John the Baptist”

And Jesus,
when he was baptized,
went up straightway out of the water:

Hey! Have you found a bible you enjoy yet? If not, I’d love to send one your way
I’ve always wondered that too…why does John eat locusts and wild honey and why is it written down?
so curious... there are some reasons that some theologians believe, although their theories also differ 🕵🏼♀😉
The main difference between Sadducees and Pharisees in ancient Judaism was their belief in the afterlife and resurrection, with Sadducees rejecting both concepts while Pharisees strongly believed in them so the sadducees was more an atheist group in an source sense ?!

Reading Mark 6:1-3 it seems like people thought Jesus was just Mary and Joseph’s son and that’s why they had a hard time believing.
That's a great observation. A question back to you... who was Mark written to? The same audience as Matthew? 🕵🏼♀😉
@@hiswordmywalk Was Mark written to a gentile audience? And was Matthew written to the Jewish community in Judea?
How do we know who the audience is? And how do we know who is speaking because Matthew (I have to reread the others because I am still quite new) but he refers to himself in the third person when he talks about himself being a tax collector.
Jesus was not related to no prophet according to the ancestors list
I guess we would have to define "related to" when it comes to Jesus 😉🕵🏼♀️
