- Downtown Portland, Oregon is a gem with a ton of must-visit places to see! I recommend visiting anytime between April - October. I visited in August and couldn't have asked for a better experience with PERFECT weather.

From visiting a handful of doughnut shops to beautiful tea gardens, here's a list of some of the best things to do and see in Downtown Portland during your visit:

2. Hawthorne Asylum (Bake On The Run was my absolute favorite!)

5. Lan Su Chinese Garden
6. Japanese Tea Garden
8. International Rose Test Garden

FYI - since I visited during the pandemic, a bunch of places were still closed & a handful of places had limited hours of opening.

The public transportation is awesome and super cheap. We went back to Portland in a this last April and stayed downtown and just used public transportation to get every where.

I lived there for a couple months and didn’t get to experience anything due to some life stuff but this time in going with my son and showing him Portland during the fall in EXCITED 😆
I like the description format here. I can recall what I had seen and still be able to know what I'm seeing. This is very useful for remembering and following the videos, as I watch it in landscape mode and the descriptions are on the right hand side. It would be better if you can type in the names of special nouns like "umami cafe" as the captions stated mommy cafe, which I doubt.

Also, Packy the elephant actually died in 2017 but they have Sammy who is fun to watch play in the water

Top thing to do in downtown Portland 2021, from what I hear: carry bear spray in both hands and wear the fastest Nikes you can afford. lol. Zombie City USA.
