5:32 The stock intercooler is on the top, you've pointed to the radiator. As I see the blow-off valve is on the stock top intercooler which is connected to the intake manifold, so it hasn't got any upgraded intercooler. Any front ic would have a lot of pipes in this engine bay.
There is a HKS SSQV BoV on the intercooler.

Having a bov will put a little less wear on your turbo but more importantly it's a safety precaution as not having one and say you have a pressure issue you can shoot shoot shattered metal everywhere.

@@crimescene25 not true, they are well known for being weak engines we’ve had them in the U.K. since about 1994. Compared to cosworth yb’s and evos ect they are chocolate. And cosworths get tuned by generic chips bought out car mags and eBay, can’t do that with a Subaru but can only imagine how many more would blow up if they did
@@md-run sti motors are good for about 400 hp without upgrading internals. The vape bros out there overboosting without upgrading the cast pistons with forged/stroker etc blowing them up and crying. Pretty straight forward. Ps all the cars you just listed are chocolate compared to the mustang gt im trading mine in for in march cause i dont want to pay $20,000 to get my sti to 20 less horsepower than a real motor. You can keep all your 4 cylinder garbage, i miss my first mustang and there is no replacement for displacement...

That is a bad ass sound that deep rumble boxer engine. I missed my STI and to bad I sold my this year 2020 a 2013 it was a good run & I had 368 HP to crank engine and 294 WHP Rest In Peace Subie. Can't wait the new STI 2022 with 400HP with 2.4L Boxer engine :)

It is a hard find in Europe especially in the Netherlands but no harm trying to secure one for a POV review. If my memory serves right, almost all of the 22B STIs are right hand drive and they are sold in Japan, the UK and New Zealand.
I'm not a fan of the body kit or the pops and bangs but oh boy does that boxer motor sound good!!!

Love the car! I'm personally really not a fan of Pops and bangs in any car..Other than that the sound is too good. It won't be the most performant car on the autobahn, but holy shit the pleasure you get by driving one of those! And once it comes to rallying or snow, it's just..unbeatable? Literally snow is their real strength more than clear roads unlike most of cars.

Best sounding 4cyl engine. I've got a 4cvyl Golf R and this is how it should sound, not the tinny rubbish that it does.
Is it because golf r has artificial sound in cabin? Otherwise golf r is hotter than Subaru wrx sti. It doesn't scream " I am a sports car", its more elegant and manly!
@@brian_jakeThe in cabin sound of the R sums things up. It makes up for aural deficiencies. The STi has no need for fake sound. As it is, I've coded it out in the R as it is truly awful.

Hearing that boxer rumble makes me miss my Forester XT with VF30 STi turbo and catless Milltek exhaust... sigh. I wish I were rich so I could keep all my old cars. I'd have an interesting garage. '78 E21 320i, 85 E30 323i (euro), 83 Audi 4000 S, 86 E30 325es, 96 Volvo 850 Turbo wagon, 95 E36 325is, 94 Taurus SHO, '08 MINI Cooper S, '10 MK6 GTI (current). There's a few others I'm forgetting probably.
