  • Sadly, many young people turn away from the faith, especially during their university years. Is there anything the Church can do better to assist youth? What can young people do for themselves during this period? In this short video, I share some thoughts I have about this.

I never once heard any of the basic arguments for God's existence in the 15 or so years i went to church.
If i went to college instead of taking a year off and had gained experience in apologetics. I probably would be an agnostic.

Seeking fellowship & encouragement from like-minded people is a good thing but, unless you are growing towards a stand-alone faith, as in just you your savior, Jesus Christ, there will always be vulnerability.
Also, to promote the notion that there are all these intellectual reasons to believe or, in this case, to return to the faith/hold on to it, then it's just a matter of someone coming along with a better intellectual argument than your particular doctrine. The Gospel is not a reasonable thing to believe. To believe that the Creator of the universe came here, as a human, in the likeness of His creation, to give Himself so that we might live, is anything but reasonable. There was no clamoring, petitioning, prayer or even the thought in the mind of anyone that God should come here as a human being, to take away our sins that we might be made alive. That is the whole point of our problem re: truth, we have been rejecting it since first confronted with it so we need to realize there is literally nothing in & of ourselves that could possibly generate the Truth, or understand it, without first surrendering to the Creator.

It would help if they didn't have to believe in the literal 6 day creation to be Christian

YEC is a minor fringe group within Christianity. It seems "Prof" Yaffle doesn't know what he's talking about.

@samuelwetterau9226 no. Cos he is sensible. But there's too many that claim you have to or you are not a Christian.
