I keep reading biased remarks that programs like Scribus are bad compared to Adobe products. So glad actual printed examples exist of work made in these programs. Just shows great things can be made, even if it needs a little more patience.
TJ FREE's playlist of his excellent Scribus tutorials are at ruclips.net/video/hMlT9C6xcDw/видео.html . The version used in those videos is still the most recent (except for the nightly build of the next). I finished going through them a few minutes ago and will be going back. Except for not managing to get the manual installed (but there's online documentation) I've not had a single problem with that verison on Ubuntu 18.04. To install on Ubuntu 18.04 DON'T use the AppImage (the menus don't work in that version - reported by others as well as my experience) but instead do the following (at the time of writing this will get the version used in the videos): sudo add-apt-repository ppa:scribus/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install scribus-ng
Have you ever seen AtariST or other 80's computer software interfaces? I don't see anything wrong with Scribus' GUI. Everything looks clean. All the most used options are in the icon bar and everything else is in the top-down menu. It's old-school in a good way.
@@mattx5499 Just one of the things is that people today don't want to use light theme GUI especially if they work extensively with certain software because it takes its' toll on the eyes
you are doing so much great marketing for open source apps. They Need this, We need this. Thank You TJ.

@@ararune3734 So download a different theme... I'm using Linux Mint Mate with it's dark theme and every app becomes dark themed as the OS.
@@mattx5499 I do have a custom theme, but I believe some apps are unaffected for whatever reason.
