    This is the type of music we had in the 70's. This is when I would expect you to say we were spoiled. The golden age of the singer/songwriter. One huge singer/songwriter that was as great as anyone else during that time was Carole King. You could react to every song on the Tapestry album. I Feel the Earth Move, You've Got a Friend, It's Too Late, You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman, etc. Pick one! Or Simon and Garfunkel...any song. Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Sound of Silence, The Boxer (my favorite), etc. So much great music then.

    • @sammyslam1
      @sammyslam1 4 года назад +1

      @ted ritola .....brutha you said a mouthful and there are even more genres that broke in the 70's than the ones you mentioned. Just think of all the great music that came from the Caribbean and Africa during the 70's....
      The 80's are my favorite because it's the music of my youth, but the 70's was far greater...
      The musicianship, harmony, depth, orchestration, lead and background vocals, storylines, composition, arrangments, etc....
      Very very high levels, even when you factor in the now hated disco music.....just think about the complexity of those huge 64 track arrangements, with real musicians playing off score sheets. The 70's are an unreal decade for music, matched only by the very underrated 20's in American music history...

    You wanna Freak Out? Liv Tyler (actress) was born Liv Rundgren. Todd is still today her adoptive/Legal Father, Steven Tyler is her Biological Father. Her Liv Tyler name she took as a stage name. She is the Daughter of Bebe Buell. She was a sometimes model, I think playboy, and professional groupie. She lived with Todd for years, but had a fling with Steven Tyler of AeroSmith, and got pregnant. Todd, raised her as his own and is still very much in her life. Todd and Steven are bud's and it's like she has two dads. Yeah Todd Freak. Thx man!

    Thanks for doing more Todd!
    I saw him in concert about 10 years ago--- he had just turned 70, and he was dancing & jumping on stage while playing guitar and singing.
    Amazing performance, considering his advanced years...

    When I was young, my family took a vacation to Chicago. As we got close to downtown, this song and "You Won't See Me" by The Beatles, was playing on the radio (WLS). To this day, both of these songs make me think of that summer in Chicago.

    One of my late 85 year old dads favorite songs. Todd, besides singing his own songs has written many others for other artists. A few other songs of his are , Can We Still Be Friends, Be Nice to Me and Hello It's Me. His album in 1973 called A Wizard, a True Star was very different and unique. This song peaked at number 16 on June 10, 1972 and Hello It's Me peaked at number 5 on December 22, 1973.Todd needs to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

    Todd is an amazing songwriter and musihversat cian. As a drummer myself I love his creativiive drumming. Ride cystsrtsmbals are typically used on the choruses but he uses for most if the verses but then changes the dynamic with the closed hi hat for a portion of the verse right before the chorus begins. Love those subtleties.

    Great song, all instruments and vocals by Todd here. As I said on the last track, the first three sides of the album are all Todd and the 4th side was a bunch of quickly put together studio sessions to fill out the album.

    I went down the rabbit hole by trying to recall who originally performed Hello It’s Me before the Isley Brothers. One thing led to another. Mind was blown realizing Todd R is responsible for so many gems from my very early memory. Was lucky to catch him live a couple years ago for the first time.
