"The Year W/O a Santa Claus" had just enough of the Miser Bros. to make you wish for more. The trouble is that if you give a unique character too much screen time, they cease to be special. Think about Kramer from "Seinfeld" having a TV series with him as the main character. It'd be too much. That's why some spinoffs don't work. Flo from "Alice" got her own show. It failed. The Ropers left "Three's Company" and their spinoff failed, too. That's why "The Miser Bros. Christmas" fell flat.
