Fun fact: the reason why there are so many jabs at Sonic is because MAD actually had a personal Vendetta against Sega, you see, back in the early Service Games days of Sega, they used to make slot machines, and ine of them was called "Mad Money", which used imagery of Alfred (MAD's Mascot) alongside his catchphrase to play with the name, the thing is, early Sega was... quite a rebel in terms of caring about laws, so they used Alfred without any authorization of MAD, which actually led to one hell of a lawsuit against Sega. So i bet MAD once it heard that the little slot machine company was now a gaming Juggernaut, probably decided to do what they do best, parody their mascot to hell and back. (Edit: as this comment unexpectedly blew up, I'm gonna answer some statements of the comments: Yes I'm aware that management changes happen and that the crew who did these shorts are not the same people of the comics nor from that time, and yes I know this was from a era where punching down Sonic was "hip and cool". But let's say sometimes beef can linger, although weaker, throughout time. (considering that yeah there was a Spy vs Spy game on the Master System so that hints some easy down on the beef), I'm sorry if this happened sound slightly misleading, but overall I thought it would be fun to mention the whole Mad Money controversy that Sega had with Mad.
