  • A loss of a loved one is hard. In the same breath, another type of hard is supporting someone who has just lost a loved one as they go through the grieving process. The COVID-19 pandemic has been a widow and orphan-making machine. People from all walks of life have to face the effects of grief and the impact it has on individuals and our society, says Author and widow advocate Carolyn Moor. In this talk, she shares insights on how to support and comfort someone going through grief. Founder and President, of Modern Widows Club. Widowed on Valentine’s Day 2000 and with two young daughters to raise solo. Carolyn struggled to find the mentors and resources she needed to model the healing and growth she desperately sought in the stage of widowhood. This ultimately led to the founding of Modern Widows Club to support and empower families going through a grieving process. More: www.carolynmoo... Thank you. My boyfriend’s cousin unfortunately took his own life, and this is a huge help in learning how I can support him through this

    All I say is “ your _____ misses you too”. I learned that from my son, when I lost my best friend. My pain enormous, and I did not know what to do. This made me realize my pain was valid. I still cry for her, this means she cries for me. I will always miss her… always…

    So beautifully expressed, I lost my brother few days back and I was sharing my emotions in similar way to my friend who can listen and I was becoming comforter to my father, Sister-In_ Law and kids. I was behaving normally helping them to pass their emotions.

    What do you say to a friend when it's the birthday of a loved one that has passed

    • @cosmenherst

      My late husband died a month before his birthday. I loved it when people wrote something simple like “remembering your husband and thinking of you on this day. Sending so much love!”
      And I always love something a lil sassy like “I can imagine your husband having a heckuva celestial celebration today!”

      Yeah man, I’m in the same predicament! My girlfriend lost a family member and I told her that I was going to be there for her, I even try calling her but she never picks up and I’m worried about her

      Don't fight with her about it. Give her some alone time to process her grief, but you may have to reach out to her, let her know that you're thinking of her and acknowledge her feelings that she is going through, bring her some dinner or snacks that remind her of better days or even something as a tribute to the person that passed such as their favorite drink or food they liked.
      Don't touch her straight away unless she goes in for a hug, let her do most of the talking and don't say anything insensitive to her. You can hold her hand when she is talking to you, If she gets really upset and eyes go glassy or starts crying, then give her a hug.

    How can I help my friend grief his wife and he’s taking it very hard

    • @MrJakePaddy
      @MrJakePaddy 10 месяцев назад +4

      Be there for him dude. Listen to him talk, aid his grief and help keep her memory alive.
      Being here and asking that question obviously shows that you care for him deeply, so just keep being that awesome friend that you already know you are.

    Worse than hearing something awkward is hearing nothing at all. A friend who is hurting probably does not expect us to say something profound. Proverbs 17:17 "A true friend shows love at all times And is a brother who is born for times of distress."

    The reason it doesn’t have more view is because it to wordy and progression is to slow

    • @keithb_3
      @keithb_3 2 года назад +13

      lol i think she made it for other reasons besides views. also makes sense you think it’s too wordy, the way you type makes it seem as if you don’t know too many 6 letter words
