Awesome demo. The West Coast Random Source from Sputnik is also worth a nod, an awesome module and an important component of a proper west coast setup.
Yeah the West Coast Random looks great. I don't have one at the minute but I love the SSF Ultra Random Analog, Abstract Data Octocontroller and Qu-Bit Chance for Random. Oh and the PICO RND is fantastic in a small size too.
Every seems to dive on this with Sputnik and I'm not sure why. I'm always entirely honest about it, yes they do wiggle around a little but they don't feel loose and wrong in anyway. There's a few bigger name with the same pots on products (to my knowledge) or that at least feel the same that no one mentions. Maybe these do physically move more but they don't feel any different. If you want "higher end" west coast I'd recommend Verbos as they feel like mini tanks in your hand super solid and sound great. I don't think the Sputnik is inferior sonically though (you pay for the better hardware on the Verbos I should say) just different as is the DPO / Further Generator.
Yeah the dual complex oscillator is based around the Buchla 259. Verbos, Sputnik, Make Noise, Endorphin.es and others all have ideas based on it. All sounding different and wave slightly different interfaces too.
What a collection!! I love how these modules are laid out, so simple and logical
That free 1 HP in the left drives me crazy !!!
this will tip you over the edge then ... it's an 85HP case
akakkakaka
Thanks for pointing out both the 1 hp space and the pube. I will now commit myself to the asylum.
Dualtrx *OCD eye twitch*
I have a Verbos Dual Pole Filter which is 21 hp.... it drives me nuts! why not do it in 20, or 22! haha

Another wicked vid. Love to see more of the West coast stuff.
Cheers. Plenty more on my channel.
Fascinating look into west coast synthesis techniques. Really enjoyed that, cheers.
Great thanks Dan! :)
you probably get asked this a lot, but your led patch cables are cool. who makes them. great video.
cheers for the comment and kind words! :) LED cables are from mushi.one
Those knobs/potis look quite wobbly, is it just the video or can you confirm that they feel not as sturdy as knobs/potis from other manufacturers?

The Quad VCF/VCA could be a contender to take on the Intellijel Quad VCA in my mind if only it had built-in CV attenuators and response control.
It strikes me as very similar to the DPO. Different UI obviously, but similar in function. I suppose its due to both being inspired by Buchla.

Where can I get those led patch cables? Thanks
where can i get those cables?
I've looked at looked at and liked what I saw coming from Sputnik but do they have a DIY line? That's mostly what I've been into lately
Cool module but in my opinion the aesthetic is terrible, about as exciting as a light switch
