This is honestly one of my favourite Cap suits. I know Hydra Cap isn’t for everyone but I gotta say this is the definition of tactical. My one complaint besides the ones you mentioned is being the shield doesn’t split into 2 but thats just my personal nitpick. I still own the old Marvel Legends 3.75 inch figure of this Cap. Hope to find him around.
Wow! What a surprise! I didn't give this figure much thought either but I really like it. It almost makes me sorry that I picked collecting The Black Series over Marvel Legends. But we are getting Hammerhead and the Droideka. And for the record, I bet evil Cap nailed Janet Van Dyne.
3:51 Mr. bee's knees, they changed the knees. 4:30 I think they should retool the C to a handle. It would still have the flipping mechanism for the peg to port the shield into the back. Figures with large or small forearms could hold it in their gripping hands more naturally.
I am happy no complain that the new Capt's arms cannot be put vertically straight to the body, because it is impossible to do for muscular man in straight body pose. Otherwise, it would send wrong idea to hasbro and others.
Don’t really care for this design but man did hasbro get it right this time. Properly scaled head and broad shoulders. Great proportions overall. It’s really noticeable when compared to the other hydra cap figure. Specifically in the shoulders.
steve rogers (hydra) captain america #1 was my first ever comic, so this character and design has a special place in my heart, so wanting this figure for so long, i am so very glad it's finally out. bit disappointed about not getting the stoic head (might paint up ultimate one to match?), but every other aspect of the figure is pretty much perfect.9.9/10 (the missing .1 is due to the missing alt head)
I would have actually preferred the green uniform for the Hydra Cap (not the armored version from the 2 pack). It would have made more sense to display him with a Hydra army set. It's a bummer we get this version.
Great review buddy, agree being a Walmart exclusive they should of came with a neutral head. Looks amazing , he seem taller and head shade looks tons better. I can not wait for mine to come in. Fro a long time fan …
With the two Caps standing next to each other it looks like Steve ext to John Walker which is funny since Ultimate Captain America is a little more like US Agent being more violent and angry.
For me, The Price Range for Secret Empire Cap or The New Retro Prowler doesn't bother me at all..... Because Walmart never charged me and I got them for FREE🤣😂😈😎👍
I really wish Hasbro would just put straps on the back of the Comic Captain America figures shields like they do on the Movie versions. That clip that breaks easily on the shield causes me to pass on some figures.
I hoped that the shield peg that is often stressing out and often times breaks needs to be upgraded somehow since it is now outdated and we need a new peg that does not break in seconds c'mon hasbro fix that issue somehow
Love the design idea of this suit, but the darker/lighter shades of blue just don't quite "fit" to my eye (the more greenish hue of the lighter panels vs the standard darker blue). Also not a fan of these angry heads with the thicker, more brutish features. Not how I think of Cap's mug.
It looks good 👍. I am going to pass on it for now. I have a couple of bad ass capt America toys atm. So I am good to go. I might buy some more hydra figures though 😂. Probably AIM or a couple more Tracksuit Mafia figures before the price gets too high, just like the hellfire goons 😢.
If there's one thing I've always hated, it's the C-Clip. It's been used on almost every Cap figure (or any figure that comes with a shield), with the exception of the MCU versions, which had straps (except for John Walker and Red Guardian). Be nice if Hasbro did that instead moving forward. As for this figure, I gotta say, I love it, and it makes for a fine addition to my collection. HAIL HYDRA!

Not in the traditional sense of clones, so Hydra Cap is our Captain America with his history rewritten by the sentient cosmic cube (kubik?). Near the end of the story she recreates classic Cap which I think means there are two Steve Rogers in the Marvel universe unless they've killed Hydra Steve off.

I don’t like hydra Cap but I do like the suit a lot. One of my favorite redesigns he’s had.
He does definitely look better with the smaller head. Hopefully Hasbro has their head sizes under control now
A more neutral stoic head would have been great a active effect shield but otherwise this is a good figure.

They did it with Crystar's shield, not sure why they couldn't do it with others

I hated the Hydra-Cap storyline, but loved the costume. Really excited for this figure!

This was such a disappointment for me. It has pretty much no torso articulation. It’s not fun to pose for in action shots for me.

Such a shame that only Spidey body has toe articulation. C'mon Hasbro, it's 2024, articulated neck, pecks joints, and no pins are a standard now.

Figure is kind of meh in my personal rankings to be honest. The diaphragm joint is really pulling it down and the peg shield is outdated.
